A young man should by all means avoid conversations with vicious people and not seek pleasure in them. There are many people who look like mangy or other disease infected animals. They lead simple-minded youths into temptation; being experienced in cunning deceptions, they want to transfer all their vices to them, like a disease, in order to cover up their sins by participating in them many. Beware of them, for, according to Paul, bad communities corrupt good morals (1 Cor. 15:33) (2). Yesterday, crushed by my sorrows, I sat alone, far from people, in a shady grove, and my heart was consumed. In suffering, I love such healing and willingly talk alone with my heart (2). I do not like playful speeches, nor pleasant conversations for everyone, even the most cheerful ones, nor city markets, nor groves, nor baths, nor all the flowers of this deceptive life (2). Courtesy is ease in conversation, and dexterity of address is ease, in addition to words, in movements; Stupidity is the inability to say the right word (2). You might be interested in:
