I do not understand so little both God’s greatness and human baseness that I would not recognize it as a great thing for every created nature to at least somewhat approach God, Who alone is most luminous, most glorious and surpasses in purity all material and immaterial nature (1). You do not know, brothers, our sorrow! When we preside here with greatness and give laws to you - the many, then perhaps most of us, or ourselves (which is worthy of tears), do not know how every thought, every word and deed is weighed by God, even not only by God, but also by very many people (1).
