I am addressing this, that God’s command to preachers is not that they amuse and amuse their listeners with their preaching, but that they use and heal their sinful wounds. The weak accept and endure everything for the good, whatever is prescribed by doctors, if they want to be healed: so we should also accept and endure for the good everything that our Physician Christ wants and commands us. Otherwise, His saving medicine will not help us in any way, just as medical healing will not help the weak if he does not keep the written rules, but his weakness will increase more and more bitterly. You see that a weak person who wants to be healed surrenders himself to the doctor and keeps his written rules so that there is no obstacle to the action of the medicine. We are all spiritually weak by nature, moreover, we are mortally wounded by the robber devil, and on the path of this world we lie wounded, and we cannot help ourselves in any way, as is shown in the parable of the Good Samaritan, who helped the man wounded by the robbers (see Luke 10:30-35). If we want to be healed from the wounds of sin, we must surrender ourselves to the will of that merciful Samaritan, not from Samaria, but from Mary the Virgin Mother of God who came - Jesus Christ, let him do with us as he wants; We must also preserve His rules, written in the Holy Gospel, although it seems sad to our flesh. The weak accept everything for good and endure whatever the doctors prescribe if they want to be healed. So we too must accept and endure for our good everything that our Physician Christ wants and commands us. Otherwise, His saving healing will not help us in any way, just as medicinal healing will not help the weak if he does not follow the written rules - his weakness will only become even worse. It is sad for our flesh to abandon its pride and follow the will of Christ, but this is certainly required by the work of healing and salvation of ours. We conclude from this that there is no true conversion and repentance in those who do not want to leave self-love, ambition, love of glory and other carnal pleasures and so remain and remain spiritually weak, incurable, although the saving healing of Christ is offered to everyone.
