A deviation from the general principle of citation are some poems that are cited in the Slavic language, which seems more appropriate stylistically or semantically. The parallel Church Slavonic text of some quotes, necessary for understanding the author’s interpretation, was introduced by the editors and is printed in square brackets: My hope is in You [glory: and my composition is from You]. People do not believe their great happiness, that they will be blissful forever, and they do not rejoice with the Church when it sings of our triumph over death and hell, as if the Church was singing some kind of victory alien to them, alien bliss. To bring them to reason, to make them rejoice in the Church, which sings not of anyone else, but of our eternal bliss with Christ. For Holy is the Lord our God. Precisely, we do not have a spiritually correct life in our hearts without sincerely communing with the Lord in His Sacrament of Body and Blood. The Lord God has this law: to punish sinners who have mercy on Him and then return to their sins with gradually increasing force. Go and sin no more, lest anything worse happen to you [Jn. 5.14]. Looking at the icon of the Savior or at His most pure Mysteries, say to yourself: without Him I am dead, but with Him, or with His most pure Mysteries, worthily received, I am filled with life, peace and joy. This is experience. I thank you with all my heart, God the Father Almighty, for you heard the prayer of me, a sinner, offered in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, who said: whatever you ask from the Father in my name, he will give you [Jn. 15,16]. If someone says to you: oh, how you have lost weight, father, tell them: we are considered dead, but behold, we are alive by the grace of God [2 Cor. 6.9]. I thank You, Lord, for the temptation that You allowed me to endure for about six weeks, and for the fruits from it. Thou hast plucked Thy rod, that it may bear abundant fruit. Grant me to bring You the fruits of good service, and first of all, unashamed faith, firm hope and unfeigned love. The Lord God is omniscient and just - not a single thought, not a single feeling of our heart can hide from Him: I have bad thoughts in my head, unclean feelings in my heart, or good thoughts and feelings - and I am internally rewarded or punished: peace and joy in my soul with good ones, restless languor with bad ones. I am a criminal of God, and the Lord punishes me with illness, like whips. Thank the Lord! The path on which you have been placed by God is the path of deprivation: walk along it with the fear of God and feelings of living gratitude to God. If anyone thinks he stands, take heed lest he fall [1 Cor. 10.12]. Many become the same thing, but in different ways (lat.). And yet I am dissatisfied (dissatisfied) (lat.).
