Hymn to the Savior

Rex Christe, factor omnium, Perprobra tergens crimina, Quae mundus auxit plurima. Cruci, Redemptor, figeris, Terram sed omnem concutis, Tradis potentem spiritum, Nigrescit atque saeculum. Victor, resplendens culmine King, Creator of the universe, Christ, all the faithful to the Redeemer! Hear the prayers of us who fall, Glorifying You with praises. Your love for us is merciful, Expired through the wounds of the cross, She broke the heavy chains with force, The inheritance of the forefathers is sinful. And You, Creator of the heavenly stars, Taking the coverings of our flesh, Favored to endure the terrible Illness and execution are shameful for us! You were tied up for permission The bonds of the sinful world are pernicious, - And he took the crimes upon himself, They always do great things. You were nailed to the cross, O Lord: But the whole earth shook; The Divine Spirit gave up His spirit for us, But the sun darkened at noon. Oh, soon in the light of the Father's glory, As the Conqueror of all, appear to us; May your spirit be our protection, O King of love and mercy! Trying to stay as close as possible to the meaning and size of the original verses, we made our translation as best we could. We ask our readers, especially young ones; classically educated, students of theology, correct it as they find better. For them, in fact, we will subsequently leave some verses without translation. The pages of Spiritual Discourse are open to better translations; Seminary mentors, of course, will not fail to encourage their students to engage in such works, which are useful in many respects (Note - Ed.)
