Finally, the entire army will know the power of prophecy. And Zedekiah ran; he expected the prophecy to be false; but was captured and saw terrible suffering: he witnessed the murder of children; left his eyes as open as he should have known his misfortunes. (And after a few words). And he gave Jeremiah to Gedaliah. And look at God’s providence: when everyone was watching and everyone was bound, he is freed; a bright spectacle is arranged for him; the state of affairs also testifies; He who has shown (the good deed) himself testifies. You, a Jew, did not listen to Jeremiah; listen to the barbarian who says: The Lord your God has brought (ἐχρημάτισεν) this evil into this place, and the Lord will do that you will sin against him and do not listen to his voice. You did not believe the words of God; you will see believers; Have them as mentors. Jer. 40:4. Behold, allow 219 you. Look who got to free the prophet from his bonds. Jer. 40:4.
