Machine translation from the original · Show original
About Father, Son and Soul, Holy Trinity,
The benefit is inexhaustible, flowing for everyone,
Beauty is abundant, without saturation,
Through faith alone and beyond hope, save me.
O Tri-shining Light, O Most Holy Trinity,
Trinity in persons and Unity in being,
Fountain of wisdom, outpouring of holiness,
O fire that cleanses sins,
Cleanse my soul from sins,
(Wash my soul from ignorance) 362,
Take away my soul from defilements,
Rule over the thoughts of my soul,
Reign over the ideas of the mind (my) 363,
Show me the all-powerful king over passions,
Shine with the dominion of mind in my heart,
Free from all sin,
Enlighten and beautify the darkened,
Look at me with your most merciful eye,
(Clean and fertilize the darkened one).
Give me a luminous Angel,
The mind of an assistant, mentor, protector,
(Guardian of my soul and body),
A leader who guides to salvation.
Make me mortal sanctified,
Remove me from earthly wisdom,
Dry up the sources of anger in me,
Bring rain of tears to me.
For You are a compassionate God, a benefactor,
Kind to all those who do wrong,
Very accessible to all who have sinned
And long-suffering towards all those who are rejected.
Unrighteous and sanctified,
Not blameless and enlightened 364
You have determined the salvation of the atonement.
You even presented images of repentance
To me, unclean and indecent,
To me, the crafty and nasty one,
To me, darkened and defiled.
For I have done wrong more than the ancients,
I have greatly angered and irritated You;
Above the number of countless stars,
I have sinned against You more than the sand of the sea;
There is no (such) kind of evil and deceit,
There is no shameful malice and vice,
Which I have not done at every time and in every place,
Soul, thought, words and deeds.
My vices and abominations have increased,
(My crimes have multiplied without number)
The burden of my sins has increased, (as if iron) 365.
My neck is bent with mental chains,
My heart is compressed by inevitable bonds,
I can't lift my head
And there is no weakening (for me) of conscience.
I unworthily look at the heights of heaven,
I unworthily trample the dust of the earth,
I see the vision of mortals unworthy,
Talking unworthily with your neighbor.
For I have completely kindled Your wrath,
Indecently ignited terrible anger (Your),
I have greatly angered and irritated you,
Having done every abomination before You,
Having desired nothing from Your immaculate desires,
Having loved nothing of Your desired destinies,
Having retained nothing of Your wise commandments,
Without holding back anything from Your powerful words.
And now I bow the knee of my heart before You,
I bow my darkened head,
I bow my neck before Your goodness,
I offer a prayer to Your goodness:
I have sinned, been lawless and corrupted,
(I have sinned, committed injustice and transgressed Your commandments),
He sinned, committed a lie and appeared condemned,
He sinned, rejected and was not ashamed.
But I beg your utmost compassion,
But I appeal to You: save and have mercy on me,
Forgive my many sins,
Leave my terrible debts,
Leave my many filths behind,
And do not crush me with sins,
And do not kill me with iniquities,
Do not delight me with evil thoughts,
Don't burn me with abominations,
Do not deprive me of eternal blessings,
Do not turn me away from the immortal meal,
Do not remove me from the joy of the saints,
Do not deprive me of my salvation.
And again give me the gift of baptism -
Monastic image 366, Divine and great,
For I have defiled the former with sins,
The former was rendered useless by abominations.
(Grant me repentance, Master),
Make you worthy of sacred communion,
The bread of life and the cup of abundant blood,
To blot out many sins,
For deliverance, for cleansing, for salvation.
At the last bitter hour of death,
The hour is difficult and painful
Save, have mercy and have mercy on me;
Gently separate the soul from the flesh,
Show your gloomy soul as an enlightened one
And deliver from evil demons.
Tear it apart, scatter it into the abyss of hell,
Dissolve, incinerate, hit to the end.
Then send meek and bright Angels,
Delighting the soul from punishment,
Compassionate for the tormented soul,
Those who lift up (her) grief without sins
To the three-light and one King 367,
Connecting her with all those being saved
And making the saints joyful.
Receive Your goodness as a mediator,
As a chosen intercessor, give me Your grace,
Compassion and extreme compassion. Accept the second highest intercessor -
The joy of the world, Materodeva - the Young Lady,
Divine ladder, animate rod and throne.
Receive the lightning rite as intercessors:
Thrones, Cherubim and fiery Seraphim,
Dominance, Strength, Authority, Beginning, Archangels and Angels.
Accept as intercessor the light and luminous
Forerunner of Thy sanctified
Before the swaddling clothes, the herald and preacher of God,
Before the Lord shone forth to those in darkness.
Receive the faces of the saints as intercessors:
Hosts of prophets, patriarchs, fathers,
Apostles and crowned martyrs
And all the other luminous saints.
Accept Mary of Egypt as your intercessor,
A man from the earth, yet heavenly
Accept Onuphrius the Great as your intercessor,
Bare body, in Divine clothing
Wonderfully clothed with good deeds,
Accept as your intercessor Mark the Athenian 368,
Ephraim the Syrian 369 and all saints.
God is gentle to those who break the law,
God who gives atonement for sins,
God grants salvation to everyone.
Oh, if only You could show (Your) goodness in me too!
Oh, if only You would pour out the currents of Your compassion on me too!
For I have transgressed the law more than anyone else,
From the very womb (mother) to the present time.
Save me against dignity and beyond hope,
Through Your goodness and goodness alone,
So that I may bless and magnify You with love,
So that he gives thanks and sincerely sings praises;
In the future saving age
So that I too may bless the blessed Lord,
Whom the powers of heaven bless
For all untold centuries.
She's not in the book. n., nor in P. r. In the Slavic translation with minor changes, this prayer is found in the following psalter of the old print, after the prayers in communion; we found it back in the “Rule to St. communion" Synodal edition M. 1890. pp. 170 rev - 174. In the Slavic translation it is inscribed as “the prayer of Simeon Metaphrast.” However, among the prayers known with the name of Simeon Metaphrast, we do not find this prayer. See MR. gr. t. 114 coll. 130 A. 220 – 225. Simeon Metaphrast and Simeon NB. The earlier ones were sometimes mixed, and even in some Greek manuscripts the works of Simeon NB. mistakenly inscribed with the name Metaphrastus. See ibid. col. 144 AB. In this way, the real prayer could be attributed to Symeon Metaphrastes.
This verse, like other verses in this prayer, placed in brackets, are taken from Slavic. translation
This and the previous verse in Slavic. The translation of the prayer reads like this: “Keep my soul from thoughts, and make the mind king over the minds”...
In Slavic translation This verse, together with the previous one, is read differently: “sanctify the unrighteous, enlighten the undefiled”...
This addition to the verse is also borrowed from Slavic, trans. prayers.
In Slavic translation instead - the monastic image reads: the image of the second repentance.
In Slavic translation “He who lifts up the mountain, bow down to the fiery and illuminated throne.”
Mark the Athenian, otherwise Mark the Thracian, like Onuphrius the Great, laboring in the desert, had hair instead of clothes and was awarded extraordinary talents for his unusually severe deeds. He died at the age of 130 around 400. Commemoration of Mark the Athenian on April 5.
In Slavic translation prayer there is no mention of Mark the Athenian and Ephraim the Syrian. All the saints named in the prayer, whose lives date back to the 4th century (with the exception of Mary of Egypt, who lived in the 5th - 6th centuries), represent the greatest ascetics, mainly workers and teachers of repentance.
