Chapter 110

Ps.110:1. Let me confess to You, Lord, with all my heart. This psalm is offered on behalf of the Apostles, who proclaim how many works the Savior has done in building the economy, and what they are, and also teach the new people to give thanks for their salvation. Why, the psalm is inscribed: “hallelujah”. In the council of the right and the host. The people of the new synagogue were called “the Council of the Right”, in contrast to the ancient synagogue, because the ancient one was not right, as it had always erred in heart. Ps.110:2. Great is the work of the Lord, perfect in all His wills. In the assembly of the righteous, all the wills of God have been sought, because there is not a single commandment given that the assembly of the righteous has not sought and fulfilled, always trying to fulfill the will of God. Ps.110:3. Confession and splendor are His work. He understands the deeds that he accomplished in housebuilding. Let these deeds be sung as magnificent. And His truth endures forever. He calls the word of the Gospel “truth” because it offers salvation to all people equally. Ps.110:4. The Lord is merciful and generous. Of old, through His prophets, He promised to work miracles during the construction of the economy, and He wanted to bring these miracles to fulfillment. What miracles did He promise? Is it not those that “then the eyes of the blind will be opened” (Isa. 35:5) and other signs will be performed? Not only these, but also the calling of all nations, which he brought to fulfillment in word and deed. Ps.110:5. I will give food to those who fear Him, i.e. mental bread that came down from heaven. He will remember His covenant forever, i.e., the covenant with Abraham: “all the nations will be blessed because of you” (Gen. 18:18). Ps.110:6. The strength of His works, that is, the Apostolic face announced to the people called to faith the strength of the works of Christ, or the very works that He always does with His own strength.
