I do not advise you to go to the fortune teller in advance, so as not to subject yourself to six years of penance and excommunication from communion of the Holy Mysteries, as stated in the rules of the Helmsman. In the lives of the saints, it is nowhere to be seen that they used fortunes on anything and guessed at various thefts and arson. From the life of St. Nikita it is clear that this is done by the temptation of an opposing force with its own malicious calculations (2, part 1, pp. 91–92). There is no need to guess, but it is better to rely on the will of God. Double-minded people go to fortune tellers, who do not hope for God’s mercy and help, but seek human help or rely more on some human calculations, and not on God and His all-powerful help and omnipresent Providence (2, part 1, p. 70).
