But since I am convinced that she, healing her vice, wants to be accepted into communion with the church: then try to win her over, so that first she will cease from untruth, and bring her to repentance, and thus, if you understand that she is turning to the law of God, desiring to be in church assemblies, then allow her to be in them together with the people of the faithful. A certain Eustathia notified Theophilus that in Gemina a certain Kiradiya was involved in unclean money matters and that for this she was excommunicated from church communion by the Geminian presbyters. Theophilus approves of the elders' decision; however, having learned that the said Kiradiya decided to give up her sinful occupation and wants to be accepted into church communion again, he writes to the underlying bishop Mina - this letter is the real (14) rule - so that he makes efforts to convert this woman and, in case of her sincere repentance, admit her to church communion. This rule is cited in their interpretations of the 8th rule of Gregory of Nyssa, Zonaras and Balsamon in order to show how the 3rd rule of St. Gregory of Neocaesarea against covetousness was valid in church practice in the 4th century.
