And if some endured much violence and oppression, and accepted iron in their mouths and bonds, and remained unshakable, out of love for the faith, and courageously endured the burning of their hands, brought against their will to an unclean sacrifice, which the blessed martyrs wrote to me from prison about those in Libya, as well as other concelebrants: such, especially when other brethren testify with them, may remain in priestly service, and may they be among the confessors, just like those who have become dead from many torments, and who can no longer utter a word or voice or move to resist the vainly violent. For they did not agree to their abomination, as I heard again from my fellow servants. May everyone who lives according to the example of Timothy, and obeys the one who says: abound in righteousness, piety, faith, love, patience, meekness, and be counted among the confessors. Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold of eternal life, to which you were called, and have made a good confession before many witnesses (1 Tim. 6:11, 12). (Ap. 62; Ankir. 3, 5).
