Having thus completed this tale, which is in connection with the prophecies, Jeremiah recalls the previous prophecy, which in the days of Joachim, by God’s command, he spoke to Baruch. The Lord God of Israel said: (Jer. 45:3) “as thou hast spoken” to Barush: “Oh, cruelty to me!” For the Lord applied labor to my illness: I died with groaning, I found no peace.” (Jer.45:4). “Thus say to him, O sitsa,” the speech “Lord: behold, even I have built up, I will destroy: and even I have planted, I will uproot, and all My land.” (Jer.45:5). “And have you sought great things for yourself? don't look; For behold, I will bring evil upon all flesh, says the Lord, “And I will give your life for gain in every place, if you go.” The Lord consoles Baruch, who was a servant of the Prophet, wrote his prophecies, consoles him when he was upset and complained, advises him to endure his sorrowful life courageously, and says: if the whole people that I brought out of Egypt and planted in this land, I now uproot and flog, and hand over so many to punishment; then why are you embarrassed that you do not live alone in joy? You shouldn't behave like that; however, I will take care of you, and imposing punishment on them, I will not leave you without consolation; Wherever you live, everywhere you will be under My care for you. Therefore, having learned this, we should not be upset when something sad happens to us, but although we ask God for the best, we should nevertheless endure the present patiently; for the Master, seeing such patience in us, “will not leave us to be tempted beyond what we can, but will create more temptation with it, so that we are able” to bear it (1 Cor. 10:13). Glory and splendor are due to Him, with His only begotten Son and the All-Holy Spirit, now and always, and unto the ages of ages! Amen.
