I received your letter and I see that your illness did not pass without benefit for eternity, only you yourself adjust your thoughts so that there is spiritual benefit. Now how many times must your thoughts, from scattering and wandering around the world, return back to your head to the sore spot, and from there to your heart. And then there’s the fear of getting cancer and dying, and so on. And these thoughts are all good, for with them our soul awakens from the sleep of sin. If we thought like this even without illness, then our life would be truly Christian, and not careless. Invoking the peace and blessing of God, I remain with sincere goodwill.
