48. Одежда сестер должна быть скромной. Настоятельнице, живущей вдали от старцев, в мелочах следует поступать по своему благоразумию

Your Reverence, most honorable Mother Abbess Lyudmila in the Lord! I received your letter dated May 21st. Ask from me, a sinner, a blessing for the presentation of the ten sisters you named to monastic vows. - May the Lord bless, and may he perform the tonsure they desire, and may he help them to be worthy of their title. Demand that your sisters sew fly-fly robes for themselves. There is nothing reproachful here. On the contrary, this clothing is very modest and generally very suitable for monastics. You want to sell the donated land, but they don’t give you much. In this case, wait, maybe God will send a more similar buyer. Thank God that the city place with the house went to your monastery. Your idea of moving the parochial school there from the monastery is a good one. God help me! According to your desire, I prayerfully wish that the Lord will help you to love the matter of questioning and cutting off your will. However, it seems inconvenient for the abbess, who lives far from the elders, to ask about everything, especially about little things. This is left to her discretion. This is why the abbess is supplied. On serious matters, it is good to consult with experienced people. May the Lord help us to be more lenient towards the sisters. Asking for you and your cell attendants: M. Paphnutia, Zosima, Hilarion, Olga and Maria, and for all the sisters of the monastery entrusted to you, peace and God's blessing, I remain with sincere goodwill. You might be interested in:
