Of course, it is very regrettable to do this, and we should not allow anger to come out and abuse our sister with all sorts of obscene words, when we ourselves are perhaps ten times worse than her before God. But may the Lord forgive you in this weakness; I hope that you will restrain yourself in the future. But if you don’t want to bow to all of them, even when you’re getting ready, that’s very bad. This only amuses the enemy and deepens your passions. It’s better to force yourself and with coercion, as the saints say. Fathers, with the shedding of your blood, you should come to terms with it. Then, perhaps, the Lord will deliver us from this unworldliness. Humility, they say, is victory for everything, and every good deed is achieved through labor and compulsion.
