126. Господь за искреннее откровение не попустит впасть в большие грехи

I received your letter and I am praying for you. Don’t tell anyone when you write to me and what you receive in response, otherwise they may embarrass you due to irrationality. In order to avoid eternal torment, you must fight sin throughout your earthly life. If you constantly betray your friends, then they will, willy-nilly, leave you - the same with sins: diligently declare them to your spiritual father, betray them with hatred towards them, fight with them, and they will leave you. Some sins can be hard for us, but when we get rid of them, we will not only receive relief in our current life, but also the hope of God’s mercy will rejoice our souls. Don’t listen to anyone, but write frankly every time you need it, and I believe that the Lord will not allow you to fall into great sins for your sincere revelation. All monastics are terribly hated by the devil, and therefore he attacks monks more fiercely for the same sins than the laity. Remember this and never, not only alone, but also in front of others, speak boldly and much to monks. Be careful not to look in the face. Do not close the stove until the wood is completely burnt out - then there will be no fumes, although you will hear a smell like carbon monoxide.
