I received your letter. Continually say the Jesus Prayer, and various thoughts will go away. If one had to fight one’s thoughts to death, then the struggle would be counted as martyrdom. If there had been no struggle, then, perhaps, I would have thought that you were already a saint, and that would have been the worst thing. If the priest ordered you to remember your sin during confession, then you need to do this so that the sin no longer remains in your conscience. Remember that many spiritual and physical labors are needed for salvation, and therefore endure everything without complaining until death.
