Akathist to the Most Holy and Life-Giving Trinity
Priest: Blessed be our God.
Reader: Glory to Thee, our God, glory to Thee. To the Heavenly King: Trisagion: according to Our Father.
Have mercy on us, Lord, have mercy on us: being perplexed by any answer, we offer this prayer to You as the Master of sins: have mercy on us!
Glory: Lord, have mercy on us, for we trust in You: do not be angry with us, do not remember our iniquities: but look, even now, as you are gracious, and deliver us from our enemies: For You are our God, and we are Your people, all works are done by Your hand, and we call on Your name.
And now: Open the doors of mercy for us, blessed Mother of God: let us who trust in Thee not perish, but through Thee let us be delivered from troubles: for Thou art the salvation of the Christian race.
I believe in one God the Father, Almighty...
Stichera, tone 8. Samoglasny
Let us all sing with divine songs of God, the Father Without Beginning, the Son Eternal and the Spirit Co-essential, the Trinitarian Power, One Divinity, one kingdom and dominion, one will and power, before Them every knee bows, of heaven, earth and the underworld. (Twice.)
Let us all faithfully worship the Father and the Son and the Spirit, the Trinity, Consubstantial and Inseparable, Who will glorify the incorporeal ranks in the heavens beyond belief: confessing His mercy and generosity, let us cry out on earth: Created Father, redeemed Son, and Holy Spirit, sanctifying us all, Divine Trinity, glory to Thee! (Twice.)
When at the beginning you wanted to create the human race, O Lord, then to your co-originating Son and co-essential Spirit you spoke, O Compassionate One: let us create man in our image and likeness! In the same way, marveling at the humane look at us, we cry out: Holy and providential Trinity, Creator and our God, glory to Thee!
When the baptism of John took place in the Jordan, Trinitarian worship appeared, the Father called the beloved Son, the Son received baptism from the servant, the Holy Spirit descended from heaven in the form of a dove: by the same Divine vision of the sacrament of teaching, with faith we cried out: Trinity consubstantial, so deigned to appear, have mercy and save us!
Glory, and now, the same voice: Come, people, let us worship the Trinitarian Divinity, the Son in the Father with the Holy Spirit: The Father, having begotten the childless Son, is co-eternal and co-throne, and the Holy Spirit is in the Father, with the Son we are glorified, one power, one being, one Divinity, Whom we all worship, we all say: Holy God, who did everything The Son, with the assistance of the Holy Spirit: The Mighty Holy One, who knew the Father, and the Holy Spirit came into the world: The Immortal Holy One, who comforts the Soul, proceeds from the Father and rests in the Son, Holy Trinity, glory to Thee!
On the poem there are stichera, tone 2
Let us hymn the Trinity of one essence, the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit, for all the prophets and apostles and martyrs preached this.
Verse: Create in me a pure heart, O God, and renew a right Spirit in my womb.
Light is without beginning and ever-essential with the Father, light is unquenchable and co-essential with the Son, with the Spirit, the eternally original light, we glorify by faith, sing with love and extol with hope to all ages.
Verse: Do not cast me away from Your presence and do not take Your Holy Spirit from Me.
Have in heaven the unceasing singers of Your glory, the incorporeal ranks, and receive from us on earth praise, O Divine Trinity, whom You created in Your image and likeness.
Glory, even now: We have seen the true light, we have received the Heavenly Spirit, we have found true faith, we worship the indivisible Trinity, for it has saved us.
Also: Lord, have mercy. (12 times.) Glory, and now: Come, let us worship: (Thrice.) Psalm 139: Lord, you have tempted me and you have known me...
Blessed are you, the Trisagion, Lord our God, Who created all creation with Your wisdom, and did not abandon the fallen race of man by Your mercy, but promised to grant eternal life to repentant sinners, Love for mankind, glory to You!
Lord, have mercy (three times). Glory, even now: Psalm 50...Have mercy on me, O God...
The slow-tongued God-written law is covered with the Divine, for he has shaken off the mud from the mind of the wise, sees the Being, and learns the Spirit to understand, praising with Divine songs.
Chorus: Most Holy Trinity, our God, glory to Thee!
By Thy command, O Trinitarian Master and Lord, all things were formed, visible and invisible: command therefore the soul, darkened by the darkness of sin, to rise to Thy praise!
The immaterial Angels, the beginningless Trinity, can understand You entirely below the rank: but we, mortal lips, inscrutablely, especially Your goodness to us unworthy of singing and praising, dare.
Glory: Triple-bright Divine Unit, all the darkness of our sins and passions has been burned through, Your bright rays are the sweetest overshadowing, so that, like children of light, we can walk without stumbling along the path of Your commandments.
And now: You have appeared as an honorable church of the Trinity, in which the Father of love, the Son of flesh, the Holy Spirit, by invasion, have created an abode for yourself, our only true God, whom you prayed for us, O omnipotent Representative.
Opening the wombs of the unsatisfied bonds, the unbearable annoyance of the blessed, one prayer of the ancient prophetess Anna, bearing a broken spirit, to the strong and the God of minds.
We confess, O Trinitarian Lord our God, and bowing down all our souls and bodies, we call with tenderness: we are not worthy, not just of calling upon You, but to look below the height of Your tri-radiant glory.
From the light that is without beginning and without beginning, the Son of light ascended, and the co-natural light of the Spirit came forth, ineffable and divine: we worship the incorruptible birth, together with the ineffable procession.
Glory: Shine in the hearts, O three-solar Deity, praising Thee with Thy tri-radiant light: and give us all reason to know Thy will and strength, to fulfill Thy will, good and perfect, and to magnify and glorify Thee.
And now: Rejoice, impenetrable door of the Lord, Rejoice, wall and cover of those who flow to You, Rejoice, intercessor for the salvation of all: praying not to be lacking to the Most Holy Trinity for those who glorify Your all-sung name.
We piously sing of the three-radiant one Divinity, crying out: Holy art thou, the Father without beginning, the Son without beginning, and the Divine Soul: enlighten us with faith who serve You, and snatch up the eternal fire.
Glory, and now, voice 6: Most Holy Mother, Whose prayers forever preserve the human race, bow to the Father, pray to the Son, call on the Holy Spirit, and propitiate God in the Trinity for the multitude of our sins, so that You may have mercy on the Creator and You from now on and forever.
To the King of kings, one from another, the one Word, who came from the guiltless Father, Thy Spirit of equal power has truly been sent to the apostles, as the Benefactor, singing: Glory to Thy power, Lord!
We glorify Your long-suffering, Father, we glorify Your mercy, O Son, we magnify Your grace, O Holy Soul, and cry out tenderly: Trinitarian God and Lord, be merciful to us sinners!
May Your tri-radiant Divinity be revealed to all of us, who created man from the beginning, in Your image and likeness You imagined him, giving him mind and word and spirit, like a Lover of Mankind.
Glory: For Thou hast created us in Thy image, O God-originating and omnipotent Trinity, give understanding and enlighten us in order to preserve Thy likeness, doing Thy will, good and perfect.
And now: Thou alone art the root of virginity, Thou art the unfading flower of purity, Thou hast erased the head of the serpent by Thy birth: Thou therefore deliver us from our inhealable passions, and guide us to the haven of true repentance.
Decisive cleansing of sins, receive the fire-inspired dew of the Spirit, O radiant children of the Church! Now from Zion has gone forth the law, the tongue-like and fiery grace of the Spirit.
Having once fallen into unanimity of wickedness, I thought of creating a pillar of pride in the sons of humanity: But You, showing the one power in three Hypostases, Thou declared to Thy equal Son and Spirit: Come, come down, let us confuse their tongues.
The Father, and the Son, and the Holy Spirit, We glorify the same nature and Divinity by faith, and the trinity of Persons, the one invisible and visible creature of the Creator.
Glory: When the night of death befalls us, then, O immortal three-solar Creator! commanded us to retreat from the dark region, and make us partakers of Thy eternal light.
And now: You are the purest, more than any purity, in which you have created the only abode except sin for yourself; through your prayers, deliver us from our evil deeds, unclean thoughts and inappropriate words.
Purification for us, O Christ, and salvation, O Master, didst thou shine forth from the Virgin: as Perseus, like a prophet from the beast of the sea, didst Jonah, from aphids he snatched away all Adam, the fallen of all people.
We know, O Most Holy Trinity, that nothing evil will enter Your blessed palace: we are filled with all kinds of uncleanness: otherwise, if you want, you can cleanse us: cleanse us, and let us dwell in Your heavenly settlements!
In ancient times, You appeared to Abraham under the oak of Mamre in three Persons, one in nature and will, prefiguring the mystery of Theology: we also faithfully sing of Thee, the One God and the Trinitarian God.
Glory: Yes, Your unsearchable mercy, Master, show us the wealth, You sent Your Only Begotten Son to our poverty, imagining us with His cross for the first lordship: now enlighten us and inspire us with Your Divine Spirit, so that we may not fall from the heights of redemption through foolishness.
And now: Show us the church of Your three-bright God-headship, luminous, serve You purely, the Creator of all, and intelligently contemplate Your ineffable glory, through the prayers of the Mother of God, We magnify it worthily, as glorious.
Adoration of the Most Holy Trinity
With all the strength of my soul, come, let us worship God in the One Trinity: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit!
Come, all the thoughts of my heart, let us worship the Trinity, most revered in Unity!
Come with all the souls of my body, let us worship and weep before the Lord who created us!
It is truly worthy to worship Thee, and to glorify and thank Thee, the Holy and Consubstantial Trinity, Whose all the Heavenly Powers, the Cherubim and Seraphim, praise with triholy songs, all the faces of the saints extol with grateful voices, Whose every creature in heaven and on earth is sacredly worshiped!
Eternal King of the ages and Lord, of all creation, visible and invisible, to the Creator, Himself, in the Trinity of Holy Glorified God, every tribe bows to those in heaven, on earth and under the earth: likewise we, too, because of baptism in Thy triholy name, even though we are unworthy, we dare to bring You this laudatory song: But You, as the Creator, Provider and Judge of ours, Hear the voice of Thy servant, and do not leave Thy mercy from us, so that from the depths of the soul we call Thee: Holy, Holy, Holy art thou, Lord our God, have mercy on us, Thy fallen creation, for the sake of Thy holy name!
The Archangels and Angels, Principalities and Powers, Thrones and Dominions, standing before the very throne of Thy glory, are not sufficient to utter the greatness of Thy perfections: but the many-eyed Cherubim and the six-winged Seraphim, covering their faces, cry out to each other with awe and love: Holy, Holy, Holy is the Lord of hosts! For we, who are dust and ashes of ourselves, if it is more convenient to love silence: but, let us not be so much in the bounty poured out on us in creation and redemption, we will appear unmemorable and ungrateful, imitating the heavenly praise, with faith and love we cry: Holy, Holy, Holy art thou, Lord our God, inscrutable heights of perfection and unsearchable secrets of the abyss! Holy art thou, O Lord our God, who art everywhere and fulfilled all things, one and the same yesterday, today and forever! Thou art holy, O Lord our God, all mighty, calling things that do not exist as things that exist, bringing them down even to hell and raising them up again! Thou art holy, O Lord our God, test the hearts and wombs of men, count the stars and name them all! Thou art holy, O Lord our God, for whose all paths are true and all destinies are justified and desired!
Thou art holy, O Lord our God, in passing on the sins of the fathers to the children, and being merciful and rewarded throughout the generations! Holy, Holy, Holy art thou, Lord our God, have mercy on us, Thy fallen creation, for the sake of Thy holy one!
Seeing Thee on the throne, Isaiah stood high and exalted, saying: O accursed one, like a man with unclean lips, I have seen the Lord of Hosts before my eyes! Whenever a burning coal is carried from an Angel, I will touch it with my mouth, purely praising You, the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit, the only God. For, O Most Holy Trinity, the fire of Thy Divinity has fallen upon thorns and our many iniquities, so that with a pure heart we cry out to Thee: Alleluia!
The great prophet Moses sought to understand the unreasonable mind, saying: Show me Thy Face, that I may see Thee with understanding! But you come to him: you will see My behind, but My face will not appear to you: for a man will not see My face and live. To us, even if we are unworthy, Thou hast deigned to reveal Thyself in the person of Thy Only Begotten Son: with the same gratitude we cry: Holy, Holy, Holy art Thou, O Lord our God, the fiery burning love of the Seraphim, and the luminous wisdom of the Cherubim! Holy art thou, O Lord our God, exalted to the King of heavenly Thrones and all-true Lord of all worldly Dominions! Holy art thou, O Lord our God, the invincible fortress of the highest Powers and the almighty Ruler of the heavenly Powers! Holy art thou, O Lord our God, the all-joyful gospel of the Archangels and the unceasing sermon of the Angels! Holy art thou, O Lord our God, the supreme All-beginning of the rational principles, and the sovereign Sovereign of all other heavenly ranks! Thou art holy, O Lord our God, the only one who has immortality and lives in the unapproachable light, and converse with Thy chosen ones, as with one another, face to face!
Holy, Holy, Holy art thou, Lord our God, have mercy on us, Thy fallen creation, for the sake of Thy holy one!
By the power of Thy ineffable power you contain everything, with the word of Thy unsearchable wisdom you build everything, by the spirit of Your lips you live and rejoice, O three-sun Almighty! Thou hast measured the heavens with a hand and the earth with a span, carrying and feeding all creation, calling upon everything by name, and the mighty one who can hide the mighty right hand and Thy gaze: for this reason, with all the powers above and below, with falling emotion, we call Thee: Alleluia!
Have every creature work according to Thy commandment, everywhere showing traces of Your Providence and innumerable perfections: also Thy invisible and ever-present power and Divinity, conceived by the creatures, seeing, with surprise and joy we call: Holy, Holy, Holy art Thou, Lord our God, powerful to the Creator of the visible and invisible, and loving to the Builder of the present and the future! Holy art thou, O Lord our God, who composed creation from the four elements and crowned the circle of summer with four seasons! Holy art thou, O Lord our God, who commanded the sun to shine during the days, and the moon and stars to enlighten the night! Holy art thou, O Lord our God, who drove away the winds from treasures, clothed the sky with clouds, and sent rain and dew to cool the heat! Holy art thou, O Lord our God, girding the hills with joy and the valleys with gladness, decorating the villages and crowning the fields with trees! Holy art Thou, O Lord our God, sending food to the chick of the corvids, watering all the wild animals, and placing Your bounties on all Your deeds! Holy, Holy, Holy art thou, Lord our God, have mercy on us, Thy fallen creation, for the sake of Thy holy one!
Having within us a storm of soul-destroying heresies, the second Judas, the insane Arius, denying You the Son of God, the only one of the Divine Trinity to be: but we, even if there is another Person of the Father, another Son, another Holy Spirit, say: but the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit are one Divinity, equal in power, co-essential with majesty, in heart and we confess verbally, and as with the light of three suns in the baptismal font of illumination, we worship the Father, and the Son, and the Holy Spirit, one God, calling: Alleluia!
Hearing the Shepherds and Teachers of the Holy Church, Arius, like a fierce beast, invading the verbal flock of Christ, and rapt the sheep from the true confession of the Orthodox faith, having gathered in Nicaea at the Council, God, and not a creature, confessed Christ, and was equal to the Father with respect to the Son and the Holy Spirit, loudly exclaiming: Holy, Holy, Holy art thou, Lord our God, God the Father, God the Son, God the Holy Soul, the one true God, and not three Gods! Holy art thou, Lord our God, uncreated Father, uncreated Son, uncreated Holy Soul, One together uncreated, and not three uncreated individuals! Holy art thou, O Lord our God, the Father who begat the Son from all eternity, the Son begotten without flight from the Father, the Holy Spirit from the Ungod originated from eternity, but without being born! Holy art thou, Lord our God, the Father who called us from nothingness, the Son who redeemed us who fell with His Cross, the Holy Spirit who sanctifies and gives life to all with His grace! Thou art holy, O Lord our God, in our spirit, soul and body, a three-part tabernacle, who was well-willed to establish Your habitation, and who did not allow sins to be destroyed in us!
Holy art Thou, O Lord our God, the sign of Thy Trinitarian Creature placed upon all the works of Thy hands, in the visible and invisible world! Holy, Holy, Holy art thou, Lord our God, have mercy on us, Thy fallen creation, for the sake of Thy holy one!
The pre-primordial and omnipotent Trinity, having created us in Your image and likeness, Thou hast commanded us to do what is pleasing before Thee: we, the wretched ones, having loved our evil will, have rejected the vows of baptism, Thy image has been darkened: now we again run to You and pray, grant us Thy grace, snatch us from the hand of the enemy, visible and invisible, and save us, in the image of our destinies, and forever and ever we call to You: Alleluia!
Seeing the mind that surpasses Your perfections and the unspeakable good deeds to the poor sons of Adamlim (who truly believes in You, the Triune God, the dead in spirit are quickened, the defiled by conscience are cleansed, the lost are saved) with a grateful mind, a grateful heart, grateful lips, created from You, on bended knee, with the verb: Holy, Holy, Holy art thou, O Lord our God, in the Trinitarian It was Thy counsel that He decided to create man, and breathed into his body, taken from the dust, the breath of life from Thy mouth! Thou art holy, O Lord our God, honor us all with Thy image and likeness in the person of Adam, and make heaven the heirs of sweetness! Holy art thou, O Lord our God, who by reason has exalted us above all that is visible, and subjugated all creation under our nose! Holy art thou, Lord our God, who has given us the tree of life for food and enriched us with the gift of immortality! Holy art thou, O Lord our God, who disobeyed the commandment of our forefathers and did not abandon them after the fall, but who infused Eden directly with the hope of salvation!
Holy are you, Lord our God, who brought us from our mother’s womb and sanctified us by the grace of the Gospel at birth! Holy, Holy, Holy art thou, Lord our God, have mercy on us, Thy fallen creation, for the sake of Thy holy one!
The preacher of righteousness and zealot of Thy holy name, Elijah the venerable, was called out by the Angel, who stood in Mount Horeb: the spirit was strong, he cast down mountains, he was a great coward and a scorching fire, but not in this form of You, and in the fire a thin voice of coldness and there the Lord: having covered your face with militia, with joy and fear you cried out: Alleluia!
Thou hast shone forth to enlighten the whole world with the radiance of Thy tri-bright Divinity, Thou hast driven away all idolatrous delusions, Trinitarian God and Lord: Thou hast led the entire human race from the long darkness of paganism into the wondrous light of the Gospel, in whose illumination Thou hast glorified Thy all-powerful Providence for us, calling: Holy, Holy, Holy art Thou, O Lord our God, corrupt to the end having consumed the creation with sin by the flood waters, and in the person of Noah renewed the entire human race! Holy art thou, O Lord our God, who excommunicated the father of believers Abraham from confusion of tongue and founded the true Church in his descendants! Holy art thou, O Lord our God, who brought forth thy people from Egypt, fed them with manna in the desert, and led them into a land boiling with honey and milk! Holy art thou, O Lord our God, raising up David, filling the prophets with His Spirit, and preserving among Israel the faith in the promised Redeemer! Holy art thou, O Lord our God, who punished the people who sinned in the captivity of Babylon, and, at the end of it, again commanded Jerusalem to be rewarded!
Holy art thou, Lord our God, who showed the Maccabees in the faith and traditions of the fathers unshakable to death, and kept the Church under the law, like a bride, until the coming of the beloved Bridegroom! Holy, Holy, Holy art thou, Lord our God, have mercy on us, Thy fallen creation, for the sake of Thy holy one!
Although to show the greatness of Thy love and mercy to the fallen human race, when the end of summer had come, Thou didst send Thy Only Begotten Son, born of a Woman who is under the law, that He might redeem those under the law, who, having lived on earth as Man and having redeemed us with His Cross, ascended into heaven, from nowhere, fulfilled the promise, sent down His Most Holy Spirit to us, so that we all call: Alleluia!
Thou didst show a truly wondrous and new miracle, marvelous in the highest, Lord, when, after the sending of the Most Holy Spirit upon the chosen disciples and apostles, thou didst bring them forth to preach to the whole world, that they might proclaim the great name of the Most Holy Trinity and captivate all tongues into the obedience of faith: also, marveling at the power and action of their God-inspired words, we joyfully call: Holy, Holy, Holy Thou art, O Lord our God, who has chosen the weak, the weak and the wretched of the world, that they may put to shame the strong, the glorious and the wise! Holy art thou, O Lord our God, who has inspired countless hosts of martyrs, so that through the darkness of torment and death they may seal the truth of the Gospel and the power of the grace of Christ! Holy art thou, Lord our God, who bowed the heart of Equal-to-the-Apostles Constantine with the sign of the Cross, and thus put an end to the fierce persecution of Christians! Holy art thou, O Lord our God, Father of the seventh Ecumenical Councils of the God-bearing Father, like the seventh pillar, protecting the Church, and having created unapproachable heretical disturbances!
Holy art thou, O Lord our God, who grantest to shine upon the godly teachers and great ascetics of piety, like the bright stars in the firmament of the Church! Holy art thou, O Lord our God, and the ruler of the Russian land, Vladimir, who has guided us to the light of true faith, and thereby freed our entire country from the delusion of polytheism! Holy, Holy, Holy art thou, Lord our God, have mercy on us, Thy fallen creation, for the sake of Thy holy one!
It is strange and wonderful when Abraham saw You at the oak of Mamre in the form of three men, talking to one, saying: Lord, if I have found grace before You, do not diminish Your servant! Three therefore, in three Persons who appeared to him, the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit, the only God in Being, bow to the ground, calling: Alleluia!
Thou art all everywhere and always, not precisely by the power of Thy innumerable power, but also by the richness of Thy all-powerful providence for every creation of Thy: for us, as Thy Son said, and all the main powers have been read out from Thee, so that not a single one of them will fall without Thy will: we also trust in Thy Providence, with boldness and love We call: Holy, Holy, Holy art thou, O Lord our God, who is pleased with the whole human race to be divided into tribes and languages, and who has shown to each their place and time of residence! Holy art thou, O Lord our God, through whom kings reign and the mighty write the truth, keeping thy chosen ones as the apple of the eye! Holy art thou, O Lord our God, from the unworthy comes all wisdom and understanding, all strength and strength, all health and grace! Thou art holy, O Lord our God, instigating and taking away battles, crowning the right weapon with victory, and predetermining the wrong in the midst of victories to destruction! Thou art holy, O Lord our God, give signs in heaven and on earth, send fire, plague and famine upon people, so that they may not completely stray from Thy ways!
Holy art thou, O Lord our God, lifting up the humble from the earth, so that He may make His people princes, and casting down the proud, for there is no place for them! Holy, Holy, Holy art thou, Lord our God, have mercy on us, Thy fallen creation, for the sake of Thy holy one!
Every nature, high and low, unceasingly glorifies Thee, the Eternal Creator and God: in heaven alone, Holy, Holy, Holy, they cry day and night, while friends lay their crowns at the footstool of Thy feet: on earth, with all creation, we, as if adorned with the image of Thy ever-present glory, pray to Thee and from Thee, great and rich mercy with tea, calling: Alleluia!
The branches of many things, even though they labor a lot in thought in testing about the mystery of the Most Holy Trinity, but cannot understand how by nature there is one God, but in three perfect Persons: we believe exactly this and confess, as if we do not test, and the innumerable benefits to us of each of the three Divine Persons who are good, with faith and we call with thanksgiving: Holy, Holy, Holy art thou, O Lord our God, by Thy righteous judgment we are all brought into the land from which we were not taken, to return, and again on the day of resurrection to rise from it! Holy art thou, O Lord our God, who have no time for the sun, moon and stars to darken, for the earth and everything on it to be transformed by fire, so that instead of them a new sky and a new earth will appear, in them truth lives! Holy art thou, O Lord our God, who has set the day on which all nations and nations will appear for judgment, that each one may receive according to his deeds! Holy art thou, O Lord our God, having said on the day of reward to the righteous: Come, blessed by My Father, and inherit the Kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world!
Holy art thou, O Lord our God, from the unworthiness of unrepentant sinners then they will hear with fear: depart from me, cursed into eternal fire, prepared for the devil and his angel! Holy, Holy, Holy art thou, Lord our God, have mercy on us, Thy fallen creation, for the sake of Thy holy one!
To save the world, you appeared on the Jordan River, the Most Holy and Divine Trinity: the Father in a voice from heaven, testifying to the beloved Son, the Son in the form of humanity, receiving baptism from a servant, the Holy Spirit, descending on the baptized in the form of a dove: the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit, having learned to enlighten everyone with baptism coming into the world of man, calling: Alleluia!
O Eternal King, shine Your sun on good and evil, love the righteous and have mercy on sinners, wash away our spiritual and physical filth, make Your abode in us, even Thy unworthy servants, create good will, consume our unclean thoughts, blot out inappropriate deeds, direct the tongue to say thanksgiving before You, yes With a pure heart and lips we call with tenderness: Holy, Holy, Holy art thou, O Lord our God, about Him the Apostolic face speaks in reality, to the Unman the prophetic council looks outward! Holy art thou, O Lord our God, whose martyr regiment splendidly confesses, and the holy army glorifies the holy name! Holy art thou, O Lord our God, for Whom are the hermits sighing everlastingly, For Whom are the fastings the deeds are crowned! Holy art thou, O Lord our God, to whom saints and shepherds offer songs of thanksgiving, to whom teachers of the universe speak wisdom for our salvation! Thou art holy, Lord our God, accept the prayer for us and the intercession of all the saints, especially the Most Pure Virgin who stretches out Her hand to You for us!
Holy, Lord our God, protect us with Your holy Angels, and drive away from us the spirits of evil in the heavens! Holy, Holy, Holy art thou, Lord our God, have mercy on us, Thy fallen creation, for the sake of Thy holy one!
All singing is exhausted, trying to bring due thanksgiving to You for everyone and for everything, in the Trinity, to the glorified God: for there is not found a mind capable of spreading thoughts to the multitude of Your bounties on us, not a word that I am worthy of uttering: but for everything that is visible to us and given to us, be to You, Most Holy Trinity, thanksgiving from us, honor and glory, which is You Yourself are worthy of Your Majesty and You are pleasing: we, who worship You with humility and love, call: Alleluia!
For You are a light-giver in the promises of Your lamp, existing to us in the darkness of ignorance, appearing about our future lot, confessing with gratitude and not one of the beatitudes announced by Your Only Begotten Son, willingly, crying with all compassion with faith: Holy, Holy, Holy art Thou, O Lord our God, Who has prepared for the elect Our own blessings, which the eye has not seen, the ear has not heard, and the heart has not sighed! Holy art Thou, O Lord our God, whom all who are pure in heart will see as He is, and know Him as they themselves know from Him! Holy art thou, O Lord our God, in Him all who hunger and thirst for righteousness will find their ever-depleting saturation! Holy art Thou, O Lord our God, from the Unworthy the peacemakers, as imitators of Thy Only Begotten Son who pacified all, will be called beloved sons! Holy art thou, O Lord our God, from the worthless the meek will inherit the earth, and the poor in spirit will receive an endless Kingdom! Holy art thou, O Lord our God, who has promised eternal mercy to those who are merciful, and endless joy to those who mourn! Holy, Holy, Holy art thou, Lord our God, have mercy on us, Thy fallen creation, for the sake of Thy holy one!
Grant us Thy all-powerful grace, O Most Holy Trinity: accept the confession of our sins before the greatness of Thy glory, look upon our sighs, send down upon us the spirit of tenderness and generosity, so that, purified by soul and heart, we may be worthy to call without condemnation to You on earth, as the Angels cry in heaven: Alleluia!
Singing Your all-human vision, we all glorify You, the Immemorial Trinity, we believe in one God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit, other than You, the Lord, we fall down to You and pray to You, crying out: Holy, Holy, Holy art thou, Lord our God, be for our salvation, that we may not fear any evil, and for the protection of the belly ours, let us not be afraid of any enemy! Holy art thou, Lord our God, who save repentant sinners, save us too, many sinners! Thou art holy, O Lord our God, multiply Thy mercy to all, multiply it upon us, and have mercy on us, for we are weak! Thou art holy, O Lord our God, continue our life of repentance and do not condemn us to be cut with the barren fig tree! Holy art Thou, Lord our God, deliver us from the temptations found in the world, the flesh and the devil, and strengthen us in faith and love for You! Holy art Thou, O Lord our God, grant us to see Thee face to face, and bring us into Thy bright chamber for the marriage of the Lamb! Holy, Holy, Holy art thou, Lord our God, have mercy on us, Thy fallen creation, for the sake of Thy holy one!
O Most Holy, Life-Giving, Indivisible and All-Effective Trinity, Father, Son and Holy Soul, our only true God and Creator! Having received our present thanksgiving, send down upon us grace and strength from the height of Your holy throne, so that, having trampled all carnal lusts, we may live in all piety and purity until the end of our days, praising Your most holy name and calling: Alleluia! (Thrice.)

The organ song, consonant with the noise, honors the golden-made soulless idol: The Comforter’s luminous grace honors, as it cries out, the One Trinity, equal in strength, without beginning, blessed art thou.
The branch is purely and beginningless from the Father, as from the beginningless root, the originator, the Son by birth and the Spirit by procession, co-natural and inseparable by power and authority, as if by three being light in the single light of the Divine.
My tormentor, the evil custom, has cast me into the furnace of fiery lust: but You, the Trinity of the Almighty, as you saved three youths, save me, Father, Son and Holy Soul, and I call to You: One Trinity, equal, without beginning, blessed be Your name.
Glory: Countless are Thy gifts that Thou hast bestowed upon us, the Trinity, from the beginning of our life even to this day and hour: great and immeasurable is the essence, even as the imashi date: for all this we thank Thee, with our hearts and lips singing: To the Trinity one, equal, without beginning, most blessed are Thou!
And now: All Thy hands have received from the Lord, O Most Holy Virgin: for this sake I offer a song of thanksgiving to Thee, and through Thee I sing to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit: Blessed art Thou, One Trinity: Blessed are Thou among women, Most Immaculate Lady!
Loosens the bonds and irrigates the flame, the three-bright image of God is sung by the youths, and all created creatures bless the one Savior and All-Giver, like the Benefactor.
Many intelligent beings constantly sing to You, the inconceivable God: with them we also glorify, saying: Transubstantial Trinity, save Thy servants, as one who loves mankind.
The beginningless mind gave birth to the word unspeakably, and the Divine Spirit is self-identified as equally powerful: for this reason we preach the Trinity of one essence, the Lord of all God.
Glory: For the sake of many of our many sins, we are worthy of torment, but hitherto we are unharmed: and we live by Your grace, the All-Merciful Trinity: we also glorify You with tears, saying: Bless all the one Trihypostatic God and Creator, as the Benefactor who created and preserved every creature.
And now: I magnify Your firm intercession, I confess the power of the Maternity of Your prayer, I thank the Most Holy Trinity, which has magnified and chosen You, and I sing: Praise and exalt all my inner God and the Mother of God forever.
Rejoice, O Queen, mother-virgin glory: for every kindly and gracious mouth cannot speak, It is worthy to sing to You, but every mind is amazed, To understand Your birth: in the same way we glorify You.
Holy and glorified is the Father, the eternal God: Holy and glorified is the Son, born of the Father: Holy and glorified is the Life-giving Spirit, who proceeds from the Father, and we are the Son.
We ourselves are unworthy not to pray, but to come to You below, O Trinity, we offer in prayer for us the deeds of the saints, the apostles, prophets, martyrs and confessors, the labors and tears of the venerable fasters and all those who have pleased You from the ages; accept me into Your heavenly altar, and do not reject us unclean.
Glory: We unite this song of prayer with Thy love, O Father God, with Thy Blood, which speaks better than Abel, O Only Begotten Son, with Thy inscrutable goodness, O Holy and dear Soul, we pray: do not despise this tongue-tied prayer of ours, and from the boldness that is towards You, do not reject Thy servant.
And now: We bring the common hope of all, the Most Pure Virgin, in prayer for us sinners to You, Father, Son and Holy Soul: have mercy on us and grant us good, eternal and temporary, through the prayers of the most honorable Cherubim and all the Powers of Heaven.
We sing the trisolar power of the Divine nature of one essence, and we call the triholy voices: Holy art thou, the Eternal Father, Holy art thou, the Son without origin, and the Holy Soul, the one indivisible God of ours, and the Creator of all, loving mankind.
Glory: Father and Son with the Holy Spirit, look upon us who worship You by faith and glorify Your power, and cry to those who sing of You: I am with you, and no one is against you.
And now: the God-originating Light from Thy womb shone forth, O Most Pure Mother of God, illumine the whole world with the trisolar light, and show the earth like another heaven, so that all the works of the Lord may be sung and exalted to all ages.
On the praises of the stichera, tone 4, self-concord
The glorious one today saw all the nations in the city of David, when the Holy Spirit descended in fiery nations, as the blessed Luke narrates, saying: to those gathered by the disciples of Christ, there was a noise like a stormy breath, and the house was filled where they sat: and they all began to speak strange teachings, strange command of the Holy Trinity. (Twice.)
The Holy Spirit is ever, and is, and will be, below we begin, below ceases, but ever to the Father and the Son is formed and counted, life and life-giving, light, and giver of light, self-good, and the source of goodness: by Him the Father is known, and the Son is glorified and is known from all, one power, one counting, one worship of the Holy Trinity.
The Holy Spirit, light and life, and a living source of intelligence: the Spirit of wisdom, the Spirit of reason: good, right, intelligent: possessing, cleansing sins: God and idolizing: fire, originating from fire, speaking, acting, sharing gifts, in whom all the prophets and divine apostles were married with martyrs: strange hearing, strange vision, fire divide yourself into giving gifts.
Glory, and now, voice 6: To the Heavenly King, the Comforter, the Soul of truth, Who is everywhere and has fulfilled everything, Treasure of good things and Giver of life, come and dwell in us, and cleanse us from all filth, and save, O Good One, our souls.
Almighty Master, all-wise and all-good Lord, the luminous Son, the Pre-Eternal Parent, and your Life-giving Spirit, eternal and ever-present to the Self-Generator, whose majesty is innumerable, and his glory is unspeakable, and his mercy is immeasurable! We thank Thee, for Thou hast called us out of non-existence and honored Thee with Thy precious image, for Thou hast granted us, unworthy, not only to know and love Thee, but also to eat most sweetly, and to call Thee by our Father. We thank Thee, God of mercy and generosity, for Thou didst not abandon those who transgressed Thy commandment in the midst of sin and the shadow of death, but Thou didst deign to send Thy Only Begotten Son, Who is the Creator of all things, to send to earth for the sake of our salvation, so that through His incarnation and the terrible suffering of the torment of the devil and mortal aphids we may be freed. We thank Thee, God of love and strength, for after the ascension into heaven of our dearest Savior, having been implored by His Cross, Thou didst send down Thy Most Holy Spirit upon His chosen disciples and apostles, so that by the power of their God-inspired preaching they would illuminate the whole world with the imperishable light of the Gospel of Christ.
For Yourself, O humane-loving Master, hear now the humble prayer of Your unworthy children, and just as You created us for Your sole goodness, You redeemed us for Your sole goodness, so You saved us according to Your only unconditional mercy: because of our deeds, the imams are below the wall of salvation, but the hope of righteous revenge and excommunication from Thy most luminous Face: Even if one idle word will be exacted on the day of judgment and testing, about our countless iniquities, even those who have sinned before You, then, poor imams, will give an answer; For this reason, because of our desperate justification from our deeds, to Yours alone, every mind and every word surpassing, we resort to goodness, even though we have a solid foundation of hope, we pray to You: cleanse those who have sinned, O Lord! lawless, forgive me, Master! by the anger of You, be reconciled, Long-suffering! and save the rest of our mind, conscience and heart from worldly defilements, deliver and save us from the multi-rebellious storm of passions and falls, voluntary and involuntary, known and unknown, and guide us into a quiet haven of faith, love and the hope of eternal life.
Remember us in Thy mercy, Lord, grant us all the petitions for salvation, especially a pure and sinless life: grant us to love Thee, and to fear with all our hearts, and to do Thy holy will in everything, through the prayers of our Most Pure Lady Theotokos and all Thy saints. For You are a good and loving God, and we send up glory and thanksgiving and worship to You, with Your Only Begotten Son, and with Your Most Holy and Good and Life-giving Spirit, now and ever and unto ages of ages. Amen.
The Only Begotten Son and Word of God, who deigned to be incarnate and endure death for the sake of our salvation, now, and with Your most pure Flesh, sits in heaven on the throne with the Father, and rules the whole world! Do not forget by Your mercy us, who are in the depths and tempted by many misfortunes and sorrows, even though we are very unclean and unworthy, but we believe in You as our Savior and Lord, and we know no other Intercessor and hope of salvation. Grant, O All-merciful Redeemer, that we may remember the great torment of Thy soul and body that was necessary, in order to satisfy the eternal righteousness of Thy Father for our sins, and how even Thy pure soul Thou didst descend from the Cross to hell, so that we may be freed from the power and torment of hell: remembering this, let us be guarded from passions and sins ours, who were the cause of Thy cruel suffering and death, and may we love truth and virtue, which are most pleasant to You in us.
As if you have been tempted in every way, weigh yourself, O All-Good One, since the weakness of our spirit and flesh is great, but our enemy is strong and cunning, who walks like a roaring lion, looking for someone to devour: do not leave us with Your all-powerful help, and be with us, protecting and covering, instructing and strengthening, delighting and cheering our spirit. We, throwing ourselves into the bosom of Thy love and mercy, commit our whole life, temporary and eternal, to You, our Master, Redeemer and Lord, praying from the depths of our souls, that in the image of our destinies, make us pass through the comfortably gloomy life of this earthly vale and reach Thy God-red palace, which Thou hast promised prepare for all who believe in Thy name and for those who follow Thy Divine footsteps. Amen.
Prayer to God the Holy Spirit
Heavenly King, All-merciful Comforter, Soul of Truth, proceed from the Father eternally and rest in the Son, unenviable Source of Divine gifts, dividing them to everyone as you wish, by Whom we too were unworthy of sanctification and the sign of Him on the day of our baptism! Look upon the prayer of Thy servant, come to us, dwell in us, and cleanse our souls, so that we may be prepared for the dwelling of the Most Holy Trinity. Hey, O All-Blessed One! do not abhor our uncleanness and sinful wounds, but heal me with your all-healing anointing. Enlighten our mind, so that we understand the vanity of the world and what is in the world: revive our conscience, so that it incessantly proclaims to us what is right to do and what to reject: correct and renew our heart, so that the rest of the day and night does not exude evil thoughts and inappropriate desires: tame the flesh and quench with Your dew-bearing breath the flame of passions, which the precious image of God is darkened in us.
Drive away the spirit of idleness, despondency, greediness and idle talk from us, give us the spirit of love and patience, the spirit of meekness and humility, the spirit of purity and truth, so that, having corrected our weakened hearts, we unlaxly flow along the path of the commandments of the saints, and thus, avoiding all sin and fulfilling the truth, we will be honored to have a peaceful end and I am not ashamed, take me into Heavenly Jerusalem and there worship You, together with the Father and the Son, singing forever and ever: Holy Trinity, glory to You!
Prayer to the Most Holy Trinity
Most Holy Trinity, Consubstantial Power, all the good things that we will repay to You for everything that You have repaid to us, sinners and unworthy, before you came into the world, for everything that You have repaid us every day and what You have prepared for all of us in the future? Befittingly, for so much good deeds and generosity, thank Thee not just in words, but more than in deeds, for keeping and fulfilling Thy commandments: we, having listened to our passions and evil customs, have cast ourselves into countless sins and iniquities from our youth. For this reason, as if we were unclean and defiled, we do not mean to appear before Your three-bright Face without coldness, but below Your Most Holy Name, utter what is necessary for us, even if You Yourself had not deigned to bring us joy, proclaim that the pure and righteous are loving, repentant sinners are merciful and graciously accepted.
Look then, O Divine Trinity, from the height of Thy holy glory upon us, many sinners, and accept our good will instead of good deeds: and give us the spirit of true repentance, so that, having hated every sin, we may live in purity and truth until the end of our days, doing Thy most holy will and gloriously pure thoughts and good deeds Your sweetest and most magnificent name. Amen.
Also: It is worthy to eat: the Trisagion: according to Our Father: Troparion: Blessed art thou: Lord, have mercy, (40 times), and let me go.
Akathist to the Divine Passion of Christ
Reader: Glory to Thee, our God, glory to Thee! To the Heavenly King: Trisagion: according to Our Father...
Have mercy on us, Lord, have mercy on us: bewildered by any answer, we offer this prayer to You, as the Master, sinners: have mercy on us.
Glory: Lord, have mercy on us, for we trust in You: do not be angry with us, do not remember our iniquities, but look upon us even now as you are gracious, and deliver us from our enemies: For You are our God, and we are Your people, all works are done by Your hand, and we call on Your name.
And now: Open the door of mercy for us, blessed Mother of God, who trusts in You, may we not perish, but may we be delivered from troubles by You: for You are the salvation of the Christian race.
I believe in one God, the Father Almighty.
Thou hast exhausted all the riches of Thy bounties, living in the world with love, true love Jesus, when Thou gavest Thy disciple Himself as food for supper: but having come to the free passion, Thou didst at last keep good things, wine, Thy life-giving Blood, and before Thy death Thou wast buried in the hearts of Thy friends With the Most Pure Mysteries: bury my passions, Master, so that I magnify You with love, Your soul laid down for me! (Twice.)
You took all our treasure, O lawless Judas, handing over Jesus to the murderers of Judea. O senseless traitor! The named apostle, who had other people to seek salvation, you destroyed for yourself: you stole alms from the poor, you removed the merciful God from You: We worship this love, in Him we are, we live and move.
Thou hast fulfilled all the commandments that lead into the eternal belly: having girded yourself with ribbon, you washed your feet as a disciple: how red are the feet of those who preach the gospel! May the apostles subdue all things under Thy nose, who now place Thyself below: the heavenly priests desire to be wise, shaking off the dust from their feet. And for me, my Jesus, cleanse all that is filthy, so that I may work for the pure and pure forever.
Glory: Having strengthened a sorrowful soul to the point of death with the bread of animal prayer, and making the spirit glad with wine, you boldly approached death. O voice of love! Father, carry this cup from Me, so that Israel may not drink it, whose water they gave them to drink in the desert: if it be Your will, let me drink, and I will give them My Flesh and Blood for eternal life.
And now: What are you doing so quickly for free passion, My Son, the Virgin said. You answered: I must do the will of My Father: I am the imam to place my soul in power, and the imam is to accept the power again: but I am coming for free slaying, and I will raise up the slain man.
On the poem there are stichera, tone 1
You, the true sun, came to the west, bowing at the feet of Judas. O Thy humility! First of all you wash the feet of the cold, giving honor for dishonor: wash me also with my tears, O Jesus, that I may be cleansed to do Your will.
Verse: Gnashing your teeth at me.
Truly this people do not know the law, for the lawless one wants to kill the Lawgiver. Cleanse our sins, O Lord, who have no sin, so that we will not be condemned with those who rebel against You.
Verse: Look at the right hand and look, and do not know Me.
We do not know the Man, as Peter said, whom you also confessed to God: This is Man and God, at whose feet you fell and declared: This is Man and God, who in the waters of drowning gave you his hand: This is the Man who healed your mother-in-law with fire: This is the Man, with Him you said goodness. Look at me, Jesus, as you looked at Peter, and do not say to me on the day of testing: I do not know you! Glory, and now:
The dark region of truly unapproachable light to You in the night with dishonor, wounds and abuse furiously reaps: this ungrateful generation has repaid You, Christ, for in the night You drove them out with a strong hand and a high arm from the hand of the Pharaohs: this you repaid, O benefactor Jesus, an ungrateful generation, for You fed them with manna in the desert and You gave me water from the stone to drink. Let Your enemies be ashamed, show the power of Your Divinity, for You are the Son and my God, the Virgin of tears.
Also: Lord, have mercy. (12 times) Glory, and now: Come, let us worship (three times). Psalm 143: Lord, hear my prayer... Glory, and now: Alleluia (three times). God is the Lord, and appear to us.
When the glory of the disciple is enlightened at the thought of the supper, then Judas, the evil and honorable one, becomes darkened by the love of money, and betrays the righteous Judge to the lawless judges. See, the steward of the property, who used strangulation for these sakes: flee the unsatiated soul, such a daring Teacher. O good one, O Lord, glory to Thee!
Glory: voice 2: Thou hast wrought salvation in the midst of the earth, O Christ God; on the Cross you stretched out your most pure hands, gathering all the tongues calling: Lord, glory to you!
And now: the same voice: Noble Joseph, I took down Your Most Pure Body from the tree, wrapped it in a clean shroud, and covered it with stinks in a new tomb.
Lord, have mercy (thrice): Glory, and now: Psalm 50: Have mercy on me, O God...
The wave of the sea, which hid the persecutor and tormentor of old, hid the saved youths under the earth: but we, like youths, sing to the Lord, for we are gloriously glorified.
Chorus: Glory to Your Passion, Lord.
You bent your knee in prayer, and every knee of heaven, earth and hell bows to Him. Bow down to my prayer and hear me, just as the Father heard your prayer when you prayed.
Father, in prayer you said, let me show you the true Son, I am ready for wounds, even if I have not done a single evil: for me, my Jesus, having done much evil, deliver from many torments.
Glory: In the sweat of your brow, bear your bread, you said to fallen man: just as the second Adam prayed, the sweat of blood flowed from your Most Pure Body: it is good to do your will to the Father. I have not made a single commandment of Thy, O Jesus Christ, then washed me with Thy dripping Blood.
And now: To no one is the earth cursed, for by the Blood of Thy Son it is blessed: Blessed earth, Most Pure Virgin, raise me up, dust and ashes, to the praise of Christ our God.
You, who hanged the whole earth uncontrollably on the waters, seeing the creature hanging on its forehead, shuddering with horror in many, is not holy, unless they cry out to You, Lord.
The apostles were burdened with sleep when You departed from their sight to pray in the city of Gethsemane: raise up me, lazy and despondent, to Your worship.
Like the true Shepherd, seeing the wolf Judas coming, I am a friend, you spoke to the evil disciple, instructing the fallen one to repentance: I am always sinning, and guide no one who comes to the senses, my Lord, on the right path, and by Your power deliver me from the jaws of the mental wolf.
Glory: With weapons and swords, as if they were coming against a robber, they should look for him in the Church as if he were an undefiled sacrifice: for my sins, do not despise the sacrifice offered to You, O Lord.
And now: Touching the truncated ear, heal the servant of the bishop, Thy Son, Physician of souls and bodies: all my soul and body, Virgin, heal the diseases, Who gave birth to the Healer.
Thou didst not answer for anything to the one who thought to have power over You, resist the proud: but you are weary of many lies of the cold, remain silent, and save me from much talking, and teach me to endure everything.
Glory, even now: Theotokos:
Change my sorrow to joy, Virgin Mother of God, even though you have endured many sorrows, beholding your much-suffering Son for the sake of the condemned one.
On the Cross, Habakkuk, foreseeing Your Divine exhaustion, cried out in horror: You have thwarted the mighty power, O Good One, you have communed with those in hell, as you are omnipotent.
Thou didst not answer the word of the cold Herod, the son of destruction, who had already beheaded John, the Forerunner and Thy voice: grant me a good answer at my death, O Christ!
Herod sought a miraculous sign, not understanding the great miracle that the God of creation was coming: signify me with the light of Your face, O my Christ, and give joy to my painful heart!
Glory: Thy face is covered, but the Cherubs cannot see, covered with wings: cover me with Thy intercession!
And now: Thy face changed, O Virgin, when thou sawst Thy Son as an evildoer, known from the Jews. Much indeed is Thy longsuffering, O Son and my God, which Thou didst proclaim with groaning.
To You in the morning, who has unconditionally exhausted mercy for Yourself, and who has dispassionately bowed down to the passions, the Word of God: grant peace to those who have fallen, O Lover of Mankind.
The earth is the footstool of Thy feet, and thorns grow upon Thy head, O my Jesus. Come forth, daughters of Jerusalem, and behold the King of glory in the crown of thorns, with whom His ungrateful Jewish race is crowned.
The deceitful sons of humanity are in the measure: You have valued all that exists, thirty pieces of silver, and bought a village of blood, pouring out Your Blood, with which my vestments have been desecrated, even after baptism and the promise of repentance they desecrated.
Glory: Obey in a manner befitting God, and not Judea, foolish judge, and do not condemn to death the Lord and Judge of all: having obeyed the foul growth, instruct me to repentance, O Lord, so that I will not be condemned to death.
And now: You adjure the living God, the living God, above madness: but heaven and earth answer that this God is the One who suffered, and My Son, the Virgin, speaks motherly things.
I was fast, but was not kept in the chest of the whales Jonah: Bearing your image, who suffered and was given burial, as if from the palace, from the beast, having invited the custodian, keeping vain and false, this mercy was left to nature.
You came forth, O Jesus, bearing Your Cross, and like Abel from Cain, you suffered from the Jews: come out now and seek me who is lost!
Coming like the true Isaac, let us accept the Cross on Your frame, and on It offer a sacrifice for my sins to the Father, into the stench of fragrance.
Glory: Jacob saw a ladder established up to heaven: behold, this is Your Cross, by which raise my mind from the lower to the heavenly abodes.
And now: Do not cry to Me, who is innocent of Me, daughters of Jerusalem, do not cry to Me, Mary, My Mother; You will soon rejoice when I arise and become glorified.
Worship of the Five Plagues of Christ
I worship Your most pure, most holy and life-giving ulcer, which is in Your right hand, and I pray to You, my Lord, for its sake, make me worthy to stand at Your right hand.
I worship Your most pure, most holy and life-giving ulcer, which is in Your hand, and I pray to You, my Lord, for its sake, deliver me from part of this.
I worship Your most pure, most holy and life-giving wound, even in your gum line, and I pray to You, my Lord, for her sake, guide me on the right path of repentance.
I worship Your most pure, most holy and life-giving wound, even in Your nose, and I pray to You, my Lord, for its sake, forbid my feet from every evil path.
I worship Your most pure, most holy and life-giving wound, even in Your most pure ribs, and I pray to You, my Lord, for her sake, crush the petrification of my cruel heart, strike it with Your holy fear, and wound it with Your love, so that I may love You, my Lord, with all my heart, with all my soul, with all my strength and with all my thoughts, and grant me, until the end of my life, to always remember Your saving passions, and to bow to them and sing a victorious song to Your face:
Chosen Voivode and Lord of heaven and earth, to You, the Immortal King, hanging on the Cross, all creation has changed, the sky was horrified, the foundations of the earth were shaken: but we, unworthy, bring you grateful worship for the sake of suffering, with the thief crying to You: Jesus, Son of God, remember us when you come in the Kingdom Yours!
Replenishing the angels of the ranks, you did not receive from the Angel, but for my sake, this God, having become a man, having died with sins, you revived man with your life-giving Body and Blood: in the same way, with the abundance of your love, give thanks to the being, we cry to you: Jesus God, Eternal Love, so you have been pleased with us earth-born! Jesus, who left the grief of the angels and descended to the fallen people! Jesus, who clothed himself in our flesh, and with His death destroyed the empire! Jesus, adoring us with Your Divine Mysteries! Jesus, through your suffering and your Cross you have redeemed the whole world! Jesus, Son of God, remember us when You come in Your Kingdom!
Seeing you in the heliport of Gethsemane, struggling to the point of bloody sweat in prayer, appearing to strengthen You, when our sins weighed heavily on You like a heavy burden: For you, who perished Adam on the frame, You presented to the Father, kneel down in prayer: for this reason I sing to You with faith and love: Alleluia!
Your free suffering was not understood by reason in Judaism: for this reason, always in the night with lamps you proclaimed to those who were looking for You: I am, even if I fell on the earth, but for this reason I bound You, leading you to judgment: but on this path, falling to You, we call with love: Jesus, Light of the world, from the world You hated the evil one! Jesus, living in the unapproachable Light, from the region of darkness! Jesus, the Immortal Son of God, designated from the son of destruction to death! Jesus, there is no flattery in Him, kissed by flattery from a traitor! Jesus, give Yourself tuna to everyone, sold for pieces of silver! Jesus, Son of God, remember us when You come in Your Kingdom!
By the power of Your Divinity, You prophesied a threefold rejection of the disciple: for this reason, he even denied You with an oath, but when he saw You in the courtyard of the bishops, his Lord and Teacher, he was touched in his heart, and went out crying bitterly: “Look then upon me, O Lord, and strike my cruel heart, and with my tears I will wash away my sins by singing to You: Alleluia.”
Having truly the power according to the order of Melchizedek, as a Bishop forever, you stood before the lawless high priest Caiaphas, the Lord and Lord of all: having received torment from Your servants, accept from us the titanic: Jesus priceless, bought with a price, gain me for Your eternal inheritance! Jesus, desire of all, rejected by Peter out of fear, do not reject me, a sinner! Jesus, gentle Lamb, tormented by fierce boars, rescue me from my enemies! Jesus the Bishop, who entered the Holy of Holies with Your Blood, cleanse me from carnal defilements! Bound Jesus, have the power to bind and decide, resolve my grave sins! Jesus, Son of God, remember us when You come in Your Kingdom!
The storm of Christ-killing is breathing in Judea, having listened to the voice of the father of lies and murderer from time immemorial, the devil, rejecting Thee, the right path, the truth and the life: we are Thee, Christ, the power of God, in whom all the treasures of wisdom and reason are hidden, confessing, crying: Alleluia!
Hearing Thy meek Pilate, as if he were worthy of death, he gave Thee up for crucifixion, even though He himself testified that You would not find a single fault in You: Hand for your minds, but defile your heart: but we, marveling at the mystery of Your free suffering, call with tenderness: Jesus, Son of God and Son of the Virgin, from the sons of iniquity tortured! Jesus, mocked and naked, give glory to the villages and clothe the sky with clouds! Jesus, full of stripes, filling five thousand with five loaves! Jesus, King of all, instead of tribute to love and thanksgiving, you received cruel torment! Jesus, for our sake you have been wounded all day, heal the wounds of our souls! Jesus, Son of God, remember us when You come in Your Kingdom!
Thou art fully clothed with Thy rich blood, clothed with light like a robe: we, truly, are with the prophet that Thy garments are scarlet: I, Lord, have wounded Thee with my sins: For thee, for my wounded sake, I call with gratitude: Alleluia!
Having seen You in the soul of God-speaking Isaiah, filled with dishonor and wounds, he cried out in horror: “I saw Him, and had no form or kindness.” We, seeing You on the Cross, call with faith and wonder: Jesus, endure dishonor, crown man with glory and honor! Jesus, the angels cannot see on the Worthless One, he is blindsided! Jesus, struck on the head with a reed, bow my head in humility! Jesus, Thy bright hair darkened by blood, turn away my eyes from seeing vanity! Jesus, who is not whole from head to foot, make me whole and healthy! Jesus, Son of God, remember us when You come in Your Kingdom!
Pilate appeared as a preacher of Your kindness, showing the people that there was nothing in You worthy of death: but Judaea, like beasts of wondrous blood having seen, gnashed their teeth at You: “Crucify, crucify Him,” crying out: we, kissing Your most pure wounds, call: Alleluia!
Thou shalt shine forth in shame and astonishment as Angel and man, speaking of Thee to Pilate: “Behold, Man!” Come, then, let us worship Jesus, who was mocked for our sake, crying out: Jesus, Creator and Judge of all, judged and tormented from His creation! Jesus, Giver of wisdom, giving no answer to the foolish! Jesus, Physician of those wounded by sin, give me the medicine of repentance! Jesus, smitten Shepherd, defeat the demons who tempt me! Jesus, Thou of broken flesh, crush my heart with Thy fear! Jesus, Son of God, remember us when You come in Your Kingdom!
Although you would deliver a person from the work of the enemy, you humbled yourself before your enemies, Jesus, and, like a silent lamb, you were led to the slaughter, you endured plagues everywhere, and healed the whole person, calling: Alleluia!
Thou hast shown wondrous long-suffering, when, when I cursed Thee, according to the words of the unjust judge, I wounded Thy Most Pure Body with the most cruel wounds, as if He were stained from the feet to the head with blood: for this reason we cry out to Thee with tears: O Jesus, lover of mankind, from man crowned with thorns! Jesus, passionless in Divinity, endure passions and free us from passions! Jesus, my Savior, save me, guilty of all torment! Jesus, forsaken by all, my affirmation, strengthen me! Jesus, offended by everyone, O my joy, make me glad! Jesus, Son of God, remember us when You come in Your Kingdom!
It is wondrous and strange that Moses and Elijah appeared to You on Tabor, speaking of Your exodus, which You have now passed away in Jerusalem: there having seen Your glory, and here having seen our salvation, they call: Alleluia!
Persecuted everywhere by the Jews, you suffered many, for the sake of the multitude of my sins, you endured reproach and torment: for one thing they say that you are contrary to Caesar, your friends condemn you as a villain, and they cry out: “Take, take, and crucify.” From the depths of our souls, condemned by all, and known to death, we say to You, Lord, from the depths of our souls: Jesus, unjustly condemned, our Judge, do not judge us according to our deeds! Jesus, I am exhausted on the path under the Cross, my strength, in the hour of my sorrow and embitterment do not leave me! Jesus, cry to the Father for help, my hero, strengthen me in my weakness! Jesus, accept dishonor, my glory, do not cast me away from your glory! Jesus, Image of the most luminous Hypostasis of the Father, transform my unclean and gloomy life! Jesus Son of God, remember us when You come in Your Kingdom!
All nature was in turmoil, it was in vain that You were hanged on the Cross: in heaven the sun hid its rays, the earth shook; the veil of the church was torn, the stone was disintegrated, the hell of the dead was poured out: but we worship in the place where Thy most pure nose stands, singing: Alleluia!
The branches of many things, even if they speak a lot, cannot give worthy thanksgiving to Thy Divine Branch, Love for Mankind: but our soul and body, heart and all parts, cry out to You with tenderness: Jesus, nail yourself to the Cross, nail and abolish the handwriting of our sins! Jesus, stretch out your hand from the Cross to everyone, and bring me, the lost one, too! Jesus, Door of the sheep, pierced in the ribs, lead me with Thy plagues into Thy hierarch! Jesus, crucified in the flesh, crucify my flesh with its passions and lusts! Jesus, sink into agony, grant that my heart does not judge otherwise what you lead, then I am crucified to You! Jesus, Son of God, remember us when You come in Your Kingdom!
Though you may save the world, you have healed the blind, the lame, the lepers and the deaf, you have driven away the evil spirits: but the foolish Judea, breathing malice and envy, nailed Thee to the Cross, not leading to sing: Alleluia!
Most Holy King, Jesus, suffer all for my intemperance, and create all of me and give us an image in everything, so that we may follow Your footsteps, calling: Jesus, unsearchable Love, crucifying You without committing sin! Jesus, pray with a strong cry and with tears in Vertograd, and pray for us too! Jesus, having fulfilled all the prophecies about You, fulfill the good desires of our hearts! Jesus, Thy spirit in the hands of the Father, at the hour of my departure, receive my spirit! Jesus, you are not forbidden to share Your garments, meekly separate my soul from my body! Jesus, Son of God, remember us when You come in Your Kingdom!
Thy All-Immaculate Mother offered an all-contrite song to You, saying: “Even though You suffer on the Cross, yet I know You, from the womb of the first Lucifer born from the Father, I see how all creation has compassion for You: commit Your spirit to the Father, and accept My spirit and do not forsake Me, who calls: Alleluia!”
Like a light-receiving light, at Your Cross burning with love for You, and the Virgin Mother Immaculate, overcome by illness, I enter Your tomb as the true Sun of Truth, from the south and from our hearts accept the prayer: Jesus, ascended on the tree, and lift us, the fallen, to His Father! Jesus, bestowed upon the ever-virgin as a Mother, teach us virginity and purity! Jesus, You, who gave birth to the God of the Word as a disciple of the Theologian, entrust us all to Her Mother’s intercession! Jesus, Conqueror of peace and hell, conquer unbelief, worldly pride, and the lust of the soul that lives in us! Jesus, destroyer of death, deliver me from eternal death! Jesus, Son of God, remember us when You come in Your Kingdom!
Grant me Thy grace, Jesus, my God, receive me, as Thou didst accept Joseph and Nicodemus, so that I may bring my soul to Thee, as a pure shroud, and anoint Thy Most Pure Body with the scent of virtues, and as in the tomb, I have Thee in my heart, calling: Alleluia!
Singing Your free crucifixion, we adore Your Passion, O Christ, we believe with the centurion that You are truly the Son of God, to come upon the clouds with power and much glory: then do not disgrace us, redeemed by Your Blood and thus crying out: Long-suffering Jesus, with the weeping of the Virgin to Your eternal Mother crying and snatching us up! Jesus, forsaken of all, do not leave me alone at the hour of my death! Jesus, touching Your feet with Magdalene, receive me! Jesus, with the traitor and those crucified, do not judge me! Jesus, lead me into heaven with the prudent thief! Jesus, Son of God, remember us when You come in Your Kingdom!
O Jesus Christ, Lamb of God, take away the sins of the world! Accept this little gratitude from all our souls, offered to You, and heal us with Your saving suffering from all mental and physical illnesses, protect us with Your Cross from enemies, visible and invisible, and at the end of our lives, do not leave us, so that by Your death, having been delivered from eternal death, we call to You: Alleluia! (Three times).
Also Ikos 1: “The Angels of the Face of the Face...” and Kontakion 1: “The Chosen Voevodo...”
An indescribable miracle: in the cave he delivered the venerable youths from the flames, in the tomb he lay dead and breathless, singing for the salvation of us: O God the deliverer, blessed art thou!
You are the true David, having accepted the Cross like a beautiful psalter, you ascended Mount Golgotha, so that you may free us from the wrath of God the Father to sing: Blessed are you, Lamb of God, forever, having created the eternal deliverance of the world!
As a good builder of Thy Father's house, O Christ God, the candlestick of Thy cross, upon Him Thou Thy Thyself shone like a light of the world, that we may sing to Thee: Blessed art Thou, Lamb of God, forever, Who has created eternal deliverance for the world!
Glory: Like incense in the stench of fragrance, from the tearing of Your Flesh, You offered the Blood to God the Father, so that You would bring me to Him singing: Blessed are You, Lamb of God, forever, Who created the world’s eternal deliverance!
And now: When you saw Christ, Your Son, on the Cross, whom You gave birth to without seed, O Pure One, You were surprised at His indescribable long-suffering: in the same way we glorify You with Him.
Be terrified, fear the sky, and let the foundations of the earth move: behold, the dead are counted as living in the highest, and the little one is strangely accepted into the tomb, bless the fathers, sing to the priests, exalt the people to all ages.
Behold, your beloved Son, God the Father, who was baptized by John and transformed on Tabor, listen, you said: listen to Him now, thirsting for my salvation, to Him, for my sake, who died, I sing: through the redemption of His Blood, all nations and all tribes, sing to the Lord and exalt Him forever!
Behold, this is Your Son, O Father God, whom He was sent to despise, like a desired land, not having faith in His words, having experienced annoyance and torment: I call: generations of generations, redemption of His Level, sing to the Lord and exalt Him forever!
Glory: Behold, this is Thy Son, O Father God, Who was born without a place in the monastery: living on earth, a friend a tax collector and a sinner, and a blasphemer, condemned to the reproachful death, so that I, burdened with sinful burdens, may rest in the heavenly villages, singing: all my inner beings sing to the Lord and exalt Him forever!
And now: Behold is Solomon on His throne, behold the Bishop on His altar, behold the Leader, giving the invincible weapon, behold your Son, the Virgin, and the Son of God, whose Father for my sake did not spare me, but gave me up to death, and in worship I sing to Him: all the righteous and sinners from the ages, the redemption of His Blood, sing to the Lord and exalt Him forever!
Do not weep for Me, Mother, seeing in the tomb where You conceived a Son in your womb without seed: for I will arise and be glorified, and I will exalt with glory unceasingly as God, magnifying You with faith and love.
To all who are guilty of Thy Passion on Golgotha: I, Lord, I crucified Thee through intemperance: but do not accuse me of this sin to the repentant!
There is no one who guards the gates of Eden with the Cherub, for you are my life hanged on the tree, O Christ. About Your unspeakable love! Teach me to adequately thank You.
Glory: Imashi inscription My Christ: Jesus of Nazareth, King of the Jews! This testimony is to the Father, that you have done His good will: write me in the books of the living, pray.
And now: Do not leave Me alone, filled with sorrow, but soon comfort Me, My consolation, the Virgin spoke. I will repay you, my Jesus; come into my heart, and no one else, but You live in me, and I in You.
I see Your palace, my Savior, adorned, and I have no clothes, but I will go into it: enlighten the robe of my soul, O Light-Giver, and save me!
Glory: Thou hast vouchsafed the prudent thief in one hour to heaven, O Lord: and enlighten me with the tree of the cross, and save me.
And now: The animate one, Virgin, is not worthy of the heavenly palace, sinful for the sake of guilt, but I pray Thee diligently, for the sake of Thy Sweetest Son naked on the Cross, and the Good of my Lord, cover the cold of my face, and save me.
On praise the stichera, tone 3
My firstborn son Israel created two wicked things: Leave Me, the Fountain of the living waters, and the crushed treasure of the fossil: Crucified Me on the tree, ask for Barabbas and let him go: the sky was horrified at this, the sun’s rays were hidden, but you, Israel, were not put to shame, but you gave Me over to death: leave it to them, Holy Father, they do not know, what have you done! (Twice.)
Every member of Your Holy Flesh endured dishonor for our sake: the head of thorns, the face of spitting, the jaws of strangulation; the mouth contains dissolved bile; the ears of wicked blasphemy, the whips of beating, and the hand of a reed; the whole Body stretches on the Cross, the hand and nose are a nail, and the ribs are a haystack: you who suffered for us and freed us from passions, who descended to us through love for mankind and lifted us up, O Omnipotent Savior, have mercy on us!
I will crucify myself to you, Christ, seeing all creation trembling, the foundations of the earth shaken by the fear of your power: for I am exalted to you this day, the church veil is torn in two, and the dead from the graves are resurrected: the centurion, seeing the miracle, was horrified at your coming Mother, crying out: no matter how I weep, seeing you naked as if you were condemned to hanging from a tree; crucified and buried, and risen from the dead, Lord, glory to Thee!
Glory, and now, voice 5: To you, clothed with light like a robe, Joseph fell from the tree with Nicodemus, and seeing her dead, naked, unburied, we will receive a merciful cry, sobbing with the words: Alas for me, sweetest Jesus! The sun was seen in the distance, hanging on the Cross, covered with darkness, and the earth was shaking with fear, and the church curtain was torn: but now I see You, for my sake death has risen by will. How I will bury you, my God! Or wrap myself in some kind of shroud; With which hand will I touch Your incorruptible Body; or how will I sing songs about Your exodus, O Generous One? I magnify Your Passion, I sing hymns and Your burial with the Resurrection, calling: Lord, glory to You!
On the stichera stichera, tone 2 Similar to: House of Euphraths:
By Thy blood, O gentle Lamb, Thou hast blotted out the handwriting of human sins, and Thou hast destroyed the seed of aphids: in the same way, Thee, descending into hell, are seen among the dead as their Redeemer.
Verse: I will strike the Shepherd and the sheep will be scattered.
Now there is a judgment of the world, now the prince of the world has been cast out: he stands trembling before the Lord, having destroyed the first lordship, but you have appeared as the conqueror of sin and death and hell.
Verse: On My ridge the sinners did their work, continuing their iniquity.
Even though I always crucify You with my sins, You, dying, do not turn away from Me, but bow your head and forgive me, calling me to You.
Glory, and now, voice 5: Come, let us please the ever-memorable Joseph, who came to Pilate in the night and asked for the Life of everyone: give me this strange one, whose evil disciple you betrayed to death; give me this strange one, whose Mother beholds hanging on the Cross, weeping, and motherly exclaiming: alas for Me, My Child! Alas for Me, My Light, and My beloved womb! Simeon foretold in the church today will go astray: My heart has passed through the weapon; but turn your tears into the joy of Your Resurrection; We worship Your Passion, Christ, we worship Your Passion, Christ, we worship Your Branch, Christ, and the Holy Resurrection!
Prayer to the Lord Jesus crucified
Nailed on the Cross for us, Jesus Christ, the Only Begotten Son of God the Father, an inexhaustible abyss of mercy, love and generosity! We know that for the sake of my sins, out of unspeakable love for mankind, You deigned to shed Your Blood on the Cross, even though I, accursed and ungrateful, trampled on my bad deeds and held nothing against me. Therefore, from the depths of lawlessness and uncleanness of my mind, I looked at You crucified on the Cross, my Redeemer, with humility and faith in the depths of the ulcers, filled with Your mercy, I cast myself down, asking for forgiveness of sins and the correction of my bad life. Be merciful to me, my Lord and Judge, do not cast me away from Your presence, but with Your omnipotent hand turn me to You and guide me on the path of true repentance, so that from now on I will lay the beginning of my salvation. With Your divine sufferings, tame my carnal passions: with Your shed blood, cleanse my spiritual defilements; With Your crucifix, crucify me to the world with its temptations and lusts; With Your Cross, protect me from the invisible enemies who are trapping my soul.
With Your pierced feet, forbid my feet from every evil way; with Your pierced hands, restrain my hands from every deed that is displeasing to You. Nailed to the Flesh, nail my flesh to Your fear, so that, having turned away from evil, I do good before You. Having bowed Your head on the Cross, bow my exalted pride to the ground of humility; Protect my ears with Thy crown of thorns, so that I may not hear what is unprofitable: I have tasted bile with my lips, put guard upon my unclean lips: having an open heart, build a pure heart in me: with all Your wounds, sweeten all of me into Thy love, so that I may love You, My Lord, with all my soul, with all my heart, with all my strength. and with all your thoughts. Give me the strange and poor one, where to bow my head: give me the All-Good One, who delivers my soul from death: give me the All-Sweet One, who delights me in sorrows and misfortunes with His love, and whom I hated first, angered, expelled from myself and nailed to the Cross, who is now I will love you, I will accept you joyfully, and sweetly I will bear His Cross until the end of my life.
From now on, O my all-good Redeemer, do not allow even one of my wills to be fulfilled, since evil is and is indecent, lest I again fall into the hard work of the sin that reigned in me: but Your good will, which wants to save me, may it always be accomplished in me, handing me over to You, to You, the Crucified Lord of my heart, with the intelligent mind of my heart I imagine and pray from the depths soul, and even in my separation from my mortal body, I will see You alone on Your Cross, accepting me in the hand of Your protection, and keeping me from the airy spirits of malice, indwelling with sinners who have pleased You with repentance. Amen.
Another prayer to the Lord Jesus crucified
Lord Jesus Christ, Son of the living God, Creator of heaven and earth, Savior of the world, here I am, unworthy and most sinful of all, humbly bowing the knee of my heart before the glory of Your Majesty, I sing the Cross and Your sufferings, and I offer thanks to You, the King of all and God, for You have deigned to endure all labors and all troubles, misfortunes and torments, like a Man to bear, so that in all our sorrows, needs and embitterments you will be a compassionate Helper and Savior. We know, Omnipotent Master, that all this was not needed by You, but for the sake of human salvation, that You might redeem us all from the cruel work of the enemy, You endured the Cross and suffering. What then shall I repay to Thee, O Lover of Mankind, for all that Thou hast suffered for the sake of a sinner? We do not know, for soul and body and all that is good are from You, and all that is mine is Yours, and I am Yours.
Just in Thy innumerable, gracious Lord, I hope for mercy, I sing Thy ineffable long-suffering, I magnify the inscrutable exhaustion, I glorify Thy immeasurable mercy, I worship Thy Most Pure Passion, and lovingly kissing Thy wounds, I cry: have mercy on me, a sinner, and do Thy Holy Cross will not be fruitless in me, so that by communing here with faith in Thy sufferings, I may be worthy to see the glory of Thy Kingdom in heaven! Amen.
Same: It is worthy to eat: The Trisagion: according to Our Father: Troparion: When the disciples were glorious: Glory: You have done salvation: And now: Good-looking Joseph... Lord, have mercy (40 times) and let me go.
Akathist to the Life-Giving Tomb and the Resurrection of the Lord
Priest: Blessed be our God: face: Amen. The priest and the deacon sing the troparion.
Christ rose from the dead, trampling down death by death, and giving life to those in the tombs. (Thrice.)
For this reason the same troparion is sung...
The same priest says the verse: May God rise again: and others, singing from the crowd at each verse: Christ is risen...
I cried to the Lord, stichera, tone 8
Today, hell is crying out: I would have no more, if I had not received the One born of Mary: having come to me, destroy my power, crush the copper gates, resurrect the souls that I previously held, this God. Glory, Lord, to Your Cross and Your Resurrection!
Today, hell is crying out: my power is destroyed, I have received the Dead as one of the dead: I cannot hold this at all, but I will destroy with him the image of the kingdom: I have had the dead from time immemorial, but this One raises everyone up. Glory, Lord, to Your Cross and Your Resurrection!
Today, hell is crying out: my power was lost, the Shepherd was crucified, and Adam raised up, in the image of the kingdom, who were deprived: and even the devoured of his powers, he devoured all. Having exhausted the tombs of the crucified one, the mortal power is exhausted: glory, Lord, to Thy Cross and Thy Resurrection!
You have the victory, O Christ, even from hell, you ascended to the Cross: so that in the darkness of death you will resurrect with You, who are free among the dead: pouring forth the life of Your light, O Omnipotent Savior, have mercy on us!
Today Christ has trampled down death, as if he had risen, and the joy of the world is free, and everyone is crying out, singing like this: Source of life, Unapproachable Light, Omnipotent Savior, have mercy on us!
To You, O Lord, who exists throughout all creation, sinners we flee to; You yourself live in heaven, you trampled death in hell: into the depths of the sea; there is Thy hand, Master. We resort to You, we desperately pray to You: risen from the dead, have mercy on us!
Glory, even now: Theotokos, voice 1st
Who has vegetated the world-wide glory from man, and who has given birth to the Lord, the heavenly door, let us sing to the Virgin Mary, the song of the bodiless and the fertilization of the faithful: This is the heaven that has appeared, and the church of the Divine: This has destroyed the barriers of enmity, the world has been introduced and the Kingdom has been opened: This is the affirmation of the one who has faith, the champion of the imams of the Lord born from Her. Take heart, take heart, people of God: for He will conquer the enemies, for He is omnipotent.
On the poem there are stichera, tone 3
By Thy Passion, O Christ, darkening the sun and illuminating all things with the light of Thy Resurrection, accept our evening song, Love for Mankind. Verse: The Lord reigns and is clothed in beauty.
Thy life-receiving uprising, O Lord, enlighten the entire universe, and call upon Thy decayed creation: having thus freed the oaths of Adam, we cry: Omnipotent Lord, glory to Thee!
Verse: For establish the universe, which cannot move.
May you, O Christ, deliver our race from death; you have endured death; you have risen from the dead; you have raised up with You those who knew God, and enlightened the world; O Lord, glory to You!
Verse: Thy house befits holiness, O Lord, for the length of days.
In Thy light, Master, we will see the light, Love of mankind: for Thou art risen from the dead, granting salvation to the human race, so that all creation may glorify Thee, the only sinless one, have mercy on us.
Glory even now: Theotokos
We sing to You, who interceded for the salvation of our race, O Virgin Mother of God: for in the flesh Your Son and our God received from You, Let us receive the passion of the Cross, deliver us from aphids, as the Lover of Mankind.
Also: God is the Lord, and appear to us.
Having seen the Resurrection of Christ, let us worship the Holy Lord Jesus, the One Sinless One, we worship Your Cross, O Christ, and we sing and glorify Your holy Resurrection: For You are our God, do we know no other to You, we call Your name. Come, all you faithful, let us worship the Holy Resurrection of Christ: behold, through the Cross joy has come to the whole world. Always blessing the Lord, we sing of His resurrection: having endured crucifixion, destroy death through death.
Resurrection day, let's enlighten ourselves, people. Easter, Lord's Easter! From death to life and from earth to heaven, Christ God has led us, singing in victory.
Chorus: Glory, Lord, to Your holy resurrection!
Let us purify our senses and see the shining light of the resurrection of Christ with the impregnable light, and rejoice! crying, let us hear clearly, singing in victory.
Let the heavens rejoice with dignity, let the earth rejoice, let the world celebrate, all visible and invisible, Christ has risen, eternal joy.
Glory: You have broken the limit of mortification, having given birth to eternal life of Christ, who has risen today from the tomb, the All-Immaculate Virgin, and who has enlightened the world.
And now: Having seen your resurrected Son and God, rejoice with the apostles, God-gracious Pure One; and rejoice first, for you have received all the joys of wine, O Mother of God, All-Immaculate.
Katavasia: I will open my mouth.
Come, we drink new beer, it is not from the barren stone that we work miracles, but from the incorruptible source, from the tomb which rained Christ, we are established in Nemzhe.
Now everything is filled with light, heaven and earth and the underworld: let all creation celebrate the rise of Christ, in which it is established.
Yesterday I was buried with You, Christ, today I am with You, I have risen to You: I was crucified with You yesterday: Glorify me Yourself, O Savior, in Your Kingdom.
Glory: I come to imperishable life today by the goodness of the One born from You, Pure One, and the Light that has been sheathed in all its ends.
And now: God, whom you gave birth to in the flesh, from the dead, as you said, having risen and seen, the Pure One, rejoice, and exalt Him as God, the Most Pure One.
Katavasia: Your hymns, Mother of God.
Having anticipated the morning about Mary, and having found the stone rolled away from the tomb, I hear from the Angel: in the Ever-Existing Light you seek with the dead, like a man; see the graveclothes: speak, and preach to the world, for the Lord has risen, the one who put to death, for he is the Son of God, saving the human race.
On the Divine guard, may the God-speaking Habakkuk stand with us and show us a luminous Angel, clearly saying: today is salvation for the world, for Christ is risen, for he is omnipotent.
The male sex, as if Christ had opened the virgin womb, was called: like a man, he was called a Lamb, without blemish, because he is tasteless of filth, our Passover, and, like the true God, perfect in speech.
Like the one-year-old Lamb, Christ, our blessed crown, was slain for all: the cleansing Passover, and again from the tomb the red sun of righteousness rose for us.
Glory: Having created Adam, Your forefather, Pure, is based on You, and destroy the mortal dwelling with Your death today, and illuminate everything with the divine splendor of the resurrection.
And now: whom you gave birth to Christ, who rose beautifully from the dead, today for the salvation of all, seeing, Pure, good and blameless in women and red, rejoicing with the apostles, glorify Him.
Katavasia: Sit in glory.
Let us morning the deep morning, and instead of peace we will bring a song to the Lady, and we will see Christ, the sun of truth, life shining for all.
Thy immeasurable compassion is visible through the bonds of hell, walking toward the light, O Christ, with merry feet, praising the eternal Easter.
Let us come, O luminaries, to Christ proceeding from the tomb, as the Bridegroom, and let us celebrate God’s saving Pascha with lustful rites.
Glory: The Divine rays and life-giving rays of the resurrection of Your Son, Most Pure Mother of God, are illuminated, and the pious assembly is filled with joy.
And now: Thou didst not open the gates of virginity in the incarnation, Thou didst not destroy the seals of the tomb, Thou didst not destroy the seals of the King of creation, from whom Thou wast resurrected, and Mother rejoiced.
Katavasia: All kinds of horror.
You descended into the underworld of the earth, and you crushed the eternal faiths that contain those bound to Christ, and you rose from the grave, like Jonah from the whale.
Having preserved the signs intact, Christ, you rose from the grave, the keys of the Virgin unharmed at your birth, and you opened the doors of heaven to us.
My Savior, the living and non-sacrificial slaughter, as God Himself, brought to the Father by His own will, You resurrected the all-begotten Adam, You rose from the grave.
Glory: The anciently held by death and corruption was raised to the incorruptible and everlasting life of those incarnate from Your most pure womb, Virgin Mary.
And now: Descending into the underworld of the earth, into Your lie, the Pure One, descended and took over, and became incarnate above the mind, and raised Adam with Him, rose from the grave.
Katavasia: This is divine and all-honorable.
To the chosen Voivode, the destroyer of death and hell, we offer a victorious song to You, the All-Tsar Christ, for You have risen, O All-Powerful One, with glory, three days from the grave, and You have resurrected all those who have died from eternity: but through Your suffering we have delivered the eternal aphids, and we call to the very place of Your burial with gladness and joy:
Rejoice, Life-Giving Sepulcher, from the dead Christ has risen!
The intercessor angel descended from heaven, roll away the stone from Thy tomb, O Christ God, and to the myrrh-bearers the good news of Thy rising, saying: As you go, shout as His disciples, as if you have risen from the dead; They, enlightened by the miraculous phenomenon, gazed towards Thy tomb, crying out with faith and love:
Rejoice, Life-Giving Sepulcher, in whom Christ as a man rests, and as God is risen for three days; Rejoice, for from you the Savior of the world, as the Bridegroom came out of the palace, trampled death and captured hell!
Rejoice, for through the rise of Him who died from eternity into ageless life, He has arisen; Rejoice, for I have reposed in Christ in you, the earth cursed by the deeds of man has been sanctified!
Rejoice, for through you the primordial Adam is again clothed in the robe of immortality; Rejoice, for in you the image of the universal resurrection is outlined! Rejoice, Life-Giving Sepulcher, from the dead Christ has risen!
As Mary Magdalene and the other Mary came to the tomb to anoint Your body, O Christ our God, finding an Angel sitting on the stone and saying to them: Do not be afraid! For we know that you are looking for Jesus crucified: He is not here, but risen, as he told you. Now the holy women, having heard this, flowed back and told the disciples about Your rising, so that all, like the Creator and the risen Master, would sing the angelic song, saying: Alleluia!
Thy disciples, O Christ, have a storm within them of doubtful thoughts, at the hour of Thy death, not knowing the Scripture, as it is fitting for Thee to rise from the dead: likewise Peter, the news of Thy rising, flowing towards the tomb, although he saw what had happened: he came down and saw only Thy robe lying in him, with faith he cried out:
Rejoice, Life-Giving Sepulcher, for in you, in the midst of the earth, universal salvation has been accomplished; Rejoice, for you were the King of kings’ chambers and the Lord of lords’ chambers!
Rejoice, for through you the lawless host of the Jews has been utterly put to shame; Rejoice, for before you the heresy of the Sadducees, who say there is no resurrection, has been cast down!
Rejoice, O Sepulcher, more honorable than the Temple of Solomon; Rejoice, more than the Most Holy Tabernacle of the Testimony and the Ark of the Covenant!
Having heard from the custodians the vanity of the guards of Your tomb, O Christ, the great coward who was, and the stone was rolled away and the tomb was laid waste, seeing, from fear they were dead, and flowed into the city, I proclaimed to the bishop and the elder all that was; They are iniquity, even if they intended to hide a great miracle, but were not able to hide the truth, and they cried out to the believers: Alleluia!
Sometimes, for the sake of the fear of the Jews, Thy secret disciple, O Christ, Joseph, also of Arimathea, ask Pilate for Thy Divine Body and with Nicodemus, anointing it with a mixture of myrrh and aloes and wrapping it in a clean shroud, lay it in a new tomb, in which no one from man was buried, only You alone, and sanctified the earthly nature: having now seen Your resurrection from the dead, having come to Your tomb, cry out with tenderness:
Rejoice, Life-Giving Sepulcher, not by custodians, but rather by the Archangels and Angels; Rejoice, for Christ has departed from You in glory, striking Pilate’s mad guards with bewilderment and horror!
Rejoice, for without damaging the grave seals, you put to shame the godless Caiaphas; Rejoice, for Christ has risen from you, the bright day of universal knowledge of God has come!
Rejoice, for through you idols and idols throughout the ends of the earth will be crushed; Rejoice, for on you the churches of the true God will be established throughout the entire universe! Rejoice, Life-Giving Sepulcher, from the dead Christ has risen!
Recalling Thy disciples the sweet promise, the hedgehog, coming to free passion, Thou proclaimed before them, to boil them after the resurrection in Galilee, hastening to Galilee, to the mountain, and may have commanded Thou, and having seen Thee there, whom we had previously been accustomed to see, the truth of man, not as a ghost, but as our very prophetic flesh wearing, with faith and love, as if worshiping God, calling: Alleluia!
You had an unreasonable mind as a Judea, who did not understand the prophetic legends about You, who sought below to know the truth of Your resurrection, as if, without breaking the seal, You came out of the tomb: the same madness in the ears of the Custodian to proclaim to people, Your most pure body was stolen from life: we marveled at Your glorious resurrection, praiseworthy Let us sing to Your life-giving tomb, saying:
Rejoice, O all-rich tomb, for you had in you the Life of the Giver to all; Rejoice, for the earth, defiled by human iniquities, is being sanctified by the Most Pure Flesh of Christ, reclining in you!
Rejoice, for the One who rose from you received all power in heaven and on earth, and may lead everyone and everything to God the Father; Rejoice, for the stone that was once rolled away from You by an Angel, the holy myrrh-bearing wife, brought to light the resurrection of Christ!
Rejoice, for the Savior of the world has arisen from you, and the apostolic message has gone out into the whole earth; Rejoice, in him the grace of the resurrected Life-Giver rests invisibly to this day!
After these days I have passed away from Your rising, O Lord, You came to Your disciples, the closed doors, giving them the gift of the Holy Spirit; Then you also said to Thomas: come, touch my wounds, and do not be unfaithful; but faithful: having also known You to be truly resurrected, with the rest the disciples cried out joyfully: Alleluia!
We see the wisdom of the Vetians, the scribes of Judea, like dumb fish, perplexed to speak of Thy glorious rise, O Christ, and not understanding that it was fitting for Thee to suffer for the human race and to rise from the dead: but we, who have risen with Thee by faith and love, with joy call to Thy Sepulcher:
Rejoice, Life-Giving Sepulcher, for through you eternal life has been known to all the ends of the earth; Rejoice, for in you, through the death of the Chief of life, death has stung and the power has been crushed!
Rejoice, for coming to you from the north and the sea, the resurrected Giver of Life is glorified; Rejoice, for from the west and the east, everyone in you will find the guarantee of immortality!
Rejoice, for in your image all the graves will produce their dead on the last day; Rejoice, affirmation of the Christian faith and seal of prophetic tales!
When, after Thy resurrection, O Christ, Thou didst appear as Thy disciple on the sea of Tiberias, commanding me to slaughter at the right hand of the ship: then Thy beloved disciple, having come to know Thee from catching fish, Peter said: The Lord is! Having then come to earth, having found fire and lying fish and bread, having tasted of them and having known in You our Teacher and Lord, we cried out with one mouth and one heart: Alleluia!
In the deep morning, the wives came to Your tomb, Jesus, but not having found Your desired body, you were overcome with bewilderment and sadness, but You, the Comforter of the sorrowful, appeared to them in the middle of the helicopter city, with one voice: Mary! You turned their tears into joy; Having also known Your resurrection, I cried out with joy:
Rejoice, Life-Giving Sepulcher, in which Christ dwells, the kingdom of hell has become impoverished; Rejoice, for you were sealed from the high priests, the lord of the shadow of death, with trembling from before the prisoners who have been kept for centuries!
Rejoice, as if you were a coward, when you rise from you with the glory of the Redeemer of men, all creation will find eternal peace; Rejoice, for in you the image of the universal resurrection has been magnificently depicted!
Rejoice, for through you the face of the apostle has been strengthened in faith and love; Rejoice, too, Joseph, who has acquired such a Treasure in your helicopter city!
In Thy suffering, Christ, not tolerating the sun of lawless fury, its light was hidden, and the veil of the church was torn; In the Life-Giving Tomb the former was laid for You, the earth shook, as if to swallow up the lawbreakers. But You, as God, have risen with glory, and You have raised up the whole-hearted Adam with You; In the same way, worthy and righteous of Your resurrection we call: Alleluia!
After Thy glorious rise, O Christ, Thou didst appear to Lutso and Cleopas, like a stranger, on the way to Emmaus, and to those who were conversing with them about those who had happened in Jerusalem, Thou wast seen from them, as the only ignorant of those who were: But You, as the Omniscient One, having revealed the prophecies and having denounced their unbelief, Thou wast known to them in the breaking of bread: Therefore, having returned to Jerusalem with great joy and seeing the heirloom of Joseph, he exclaimed:
Rejoice, Life-Giving Sepulcher, from out of thin air, like Jonah from the womb of the whale, Christ came forth three days ago; Rejoice, for you were the last vitality of Him, Who on earth has no place to bow his head!
Rejoice, for through you you have set a limit to the free humiliation of us for the sake of the Savior of the world; Rejoice, for in you the triumph of the Conqueror of hell and death has begun!
Rejoice, for no one can slander the rise of the Son of Man from the tomb with lies; Rejoice, for through you heaven and earth and the underworld have found joy!
All angelic and human nature was amazed at Your great look at us: for the unapproachable, like God, is visibly approaching Man, having received the form of a servant, Crucified and Buried, but Resurrected on the third day in glory and Ascended in the flesh to heaven, therefore, as the Savior and Master, we sing: Alleluia!
Thou didst show a new and glorious miracle by Thy Resurrection, O Christ our God, without damaging the seal of the tomb, just as the Virgin did at Thy Nativity; In the same way, we honor Your free suffering, glorify the Cross and burial, and worshiping Your glorious Resurrection, we call with joy to Your Life-Giving Tomb:
Rejoice, all-holy Sepulchre, from the worthless Christ, as he prophesied, he has risen and renewed the whole world with Himself; Rejoice, from the worthless all-evil enemy of the human race, the fiercest blow to the head!
Rejoice, for you have crushed the stone that was rolled away from you, the gates of hell, and erased the iron ropes; Rejoice, for from you the universal Sun of truth has arisen and the darkness of unbelief has been dispersed!
Rejoice, for I have reclined with Christ in you, all the ends of the earth are filled with the stench of immortality; Rejoice, for I have revealed myself to you, the source of our corruption is hidden!
Preachers of Your rise, God-bearing apostles, were sent, from end to end of the earth, preaching to You the true God: crushing idols, trampling down the lawless customs of the pagans, erecting temples and altars to the true God, and teaching all the faithful to sing to You: Alleluia!
After Your rise from the tomb, through the closed door, You entered into Your disciples, and ate of the bread and the honeycomb, the sweetness of the church, not a ghost before them, but You assured them to be their true Teacher and Lord; Having also freed myself from bewilderment and fear, I visited the place of Your burial with unspeakable joy, saying:
Rejoice, Life-Giving Sepulcher, in whom God the Word fell asleep in the flesh, the sacred mystery of three days; Rejoice, for by His rise you have awakened all those who had fallen asleep from all eternity to eat!
Rejoice, for in you the Sun of righteousness, Christ, has set, and the light of life has risen to those who are in hell and the shadow of death; Rejoice, for He who came from you, resurrection and eternal life are free to all!
Rejoice, as I preached the good news about you to the Angel, the weeping and lamentation of Adam’s throne; Rejoice, for as a stone I will fall away from You, the stony-hearted pagans will learn to believe in eternal life!
The earth feared and kept silent, You, its Creator, seeing a little bit laid in the grave; hell, having trembled at the unapproachable glory of Your Resurrection, having issued from the dead, from the ages of contents, the heavens rose to the Father in preparation, You never left Him; Likewise, we, redeemed by Your Cross, all call to You: Alleluia!
Mary Magdalene, who was warmest towards You, Christ God, by faith, having come very early to Your tomb, was honored to see You, the Giver of Life, and desired to kiss Your most pure nose; but You, as the Lord of all, do not touch Me, you said: I did not go up to My Father, but go to My brethren and tell them about My rising; Moreover, as one who bears the gospel, she proclaimed heaven and earth, crying out:
Rejoice, Life-Giving Tomb, in which Christ will sleep in His most pure flesh and rest like a lion, stirred up by no one; Rejoice, from worthlessness, like God, the autocracy of the rise, restrained by nothing!
Rejoice, for because of Him that was in you, hell involuntarily comes into being, saying: I would not have had it if I had not received Him who was born from Mary; Rejoice, for the prince of darkness has been put to shame by you!
Rejoice, for the angelic face triumphs over you; Rejoice, repository of new graces and source of never-ending miracles!
Having appeared after the Resurrection as Thy disciple, O Christ God, Thou hast given Thy peace to them and the power to forgive sins, that they may preach Thy rising from the grave, baptizing in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit; They came forth as if endued with power from on high, teaching all tongues to sing to You as to God: Alleluia!
After Your rise from the dead, revealing Yourself as Your disciple, O Christ, Simone Ionin, did You love Me, You declared to Peter, and according to his thrice-fold love for You, You bestowed upon Your Church the gift of that teacher and apostle; We, in preaching his teachings, worshiping Your Life-Giving Sepulcher, say:
Rejoice, All-Holy Sepulcher, in it, as in Noah’s ark, the entire human race was saved from the spill of sin and mortal aphids; Rejoice, from out of nowhere, for from the Holy of Holies peace and blessing came to all the fallen sons of Adam!
Rejoice, Christ's love for us in the days of His flesh is the last edge and limit; Rejoice, having taught us all to love our brothers according to the flesh to death and the grave!
Rejoice, you have dispersed the darkness and fear of the shadow of death for believers; Rejoice, you who showed the wanderer of the earth the path of eternal life to Heavenly Jerusalem! Rejoice, Life-Giving Sepulcher, from the dead Christ has risen!
The Divine view of us is glorifying, we honor your passion, we worship your wonderful Resurrection, and from the earth to the Heavenly Parent we sing and pray the glorious ascension: do not take your Most Holy Spirit from us, but we all call to you forever: Alleluia!
When You ascended to the Mount of Olives, Father's Radiance, then a bright cloud was lifted up by You, Your beholding disciple, and the Apostle Angels said: Men of Galilee, who stand looking up to heaven; Behold, you see him ascending, He will again come with flesh; They returned to Jerusalem with joy, praising You, the true God, and Your Life-Giving Tomb, in which You were laid for three days, exclaiming with joy:
Rejoice, Life-Giving Sepulcher, for what happened in you confirmed us all in faith in Christ; Rejoice, before the tormentors and enemies of the truth, who made us invincible in the hope of resurrection!
Rejoice, in this sacred mystery, in the baptismal font, all who believe in Christ are buried; Rejoice, from the worthlessness of baptism, having died to sin, they are united with Christ to a new life!
Rejoice, for before you, from the grace of the Resurrection, resting in you, all the fortress of hell disappears; Rejoice, for from you, from the fullness of the power of God that has appeared on you, the dawn of eternal life inevitably shines!
O most holy and life-giving Sepulcher of Christ, the consolation of the human race and the adornment of the whole earth, to you, as to the palace of the King of Glory, mentally approaching with faith, we pray to Christ our God, who rose from you for three days, so that we may be delivered from enemies visible and invisible, from temporary and eternal troubles, and even more so from our passions and sins, yes, by resurrecting Him Let us begin by repentance and walk in renewal of the right life, calling with gratitude: Alleluia!
This kontakion is read three times, then ikos 1: “Representative angel from heaven...” and kontakion 1: “To the chosen Voivode...”
He who delivered the youths from the cave, having become a man, suffers as if he were mortal, and with the passion of death he clothes the mortal in incorruptibility with splendor. God alone is blessed and glorified.
Wives from the world of God-wise follow You: for Him, as if dead, I seek with tears, bowing down joyfully to the Living God, and Your secret Pascha, O Christ, the disciple of the gospel.

And now: Reigning over all creation, having been a man, He dwelt in Your, God-gracious, womb, and having endured crucifixion and death, He rose again magnificently, having united us like the All-Powerful One.

Katavasia: Every earth-born.
Exapostilary, self-agreed:
Having fallen asleep in the flesh as if dead, Thou art the King and Lord, who rose for three days, raised Adam from aphids, and abolished death: Easter is incorruptible, the salvation of the world. (Thrice)
On praises the stichera is resurrected, tone 3
Come, all you nations, understand the terrible mysteries of power: Christ our Savior, who was the Word in the beginning, was crucified for our sake, and by His will was buried and rose from the dead, to save all things: Him we worship.
And the feast of the stichera, voice 5th Verse: Let God rise again, and let His enemies be scattered.
The sacred Easter has appeared to us today: the new, holy Easter, the mysterious Easter, the all-honorable Easter, the Easter of Christ the Redeemer: the immaculate Easter, the great Easter, the Easter of the faithful, the Easter that opens the doors of paradise to us: the Easter that sanctifies all the faithful.

Come from the vision of the wife of the good news, and cry to Zion: receive from us the joys of the annunciation of the Resurrection of Christ: rejoice, rejoice and rejoice, O Jerusalem, seeing the King Christ from the grave, like the Bridegroom coming.
Verse: So let sinners perish from the presence of God, and let righteous women rejoice.
The myrrh-bearing woman, in the deep morning, appeared at the tomb of the Life-Giver, found an Angel, sat on a stone, and said to them: Why are you looking for the Living One with the dead? Why are you crying into the aphids? Go and preach as His disciple.
Verse: This Day which the Lord has made, let us rejoice and be glad.
Red Easter, Easter, Lord's Easter! Easter is an honorable blessing for us! Easter! Let's embrace each other with joy! Oh Easter! Deliverance of sorrow, for from the grave today, as Christ has risen from the palace, fill the women with joy, saying: preach as an apostle.
It is the day of Resurrection, and let us be enlightened with triumph, and let us embrace each other, brethren, and forgive all those who hate us through the Resurrection, and thus we cry out: Christ is risen from the dead, having trampled down death by death and bestowed life on those who are in the tombs.
Prayer to the Risen Lord Jesus
Glory to Thee, Lord Jesus Christ, my God, for Thou hast once again vouchsafed me, unworthy, having passed through the field of Holy Lent, to worship Thy Divine Passion and to see the all-joyful day of the glorious Resurrection from the tomb of Thy, in which Thou hast freed the souls of the righteous who have been bound for centuries in hell. That Divine freedom of spirit and flesh, my dearest Savior, and I wish that you may resolve me, bound by many sins, and may you make the life-giving light of Your Resurrection shine in the darkest soul of my soul: I see countless bounties and Your ineffable love for mankind, as if not from non-existence into the existence of me Thou hast brought, adorning Thy image with Thy likeness, Thou hast made me ruler of all creation, but even so, having fallen from on high and become enslaved to the enemy, Thou hast not abandoned Me, but having redeemed me with Thy priceless Blood, Thou hast provided me with the grace of Baptism, so that I may ascend to the first possession. But I, the accursed one, having become a carnal mind, turned back and became a slave to the creation of sin and passions, completely destroying all the gifts of Thy grace.
And now, for I do not know what I will do: moreover, remembering the words of Your most pure lips, as if You did not come to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance, and as one of these, I come with faith and humility to Your Life-Giving Tomb, not carrying the aromas and stench of the world (naked for I am and empty of good deeds), but rather the hope of finding in there is forgiveness of my sins and renewal of my unclean life. Look upon me now, who repent and want to serve You, and do not reject me from the grace of Your resurrection! By Thy life-giving death and burial my fierce passions were put to death, so that as if dead and buried, I live in this world. By Your glorious rise, raise up my soul, mortified by sins, and revive my conscience, which is most needed in the world.
By Your Ascension, tear me away from the vain and soulful blessings of the earth, and make me a heavenly philistine, as if I were not living and pleasing anyone, but You, my Lord and God, serving and working, just as I was worthy to worship Your Resurrection on earth, so I will be worthy to see You, my dearest Redeemer, in heaven, for accepting the death of the cross is crowned with glory and honor, and standing at the right hand of Your Majesty, with the Archangels and Angels, and with all my brothers redeemed by You, I sing to You forever and ever: Alleluia! Amen.

Having heard about such a sign of Her merciful intercession, I was overcome with horror and joy and kept saying:
Rejoice, omophorion not made by hands, like a cloud, spread over the whole world; Rejoice, O Eternal Hierarch, Your Son, holding a sign on Your hand!
Rejoice, you who manifest this new mercy and new grace in the Orthodox Church; Rejoice, pillar of cloud, covering us all from the temptations and enticements of the world!
Rejoice, pillar of fire, showing us all the path of salvation in the darkness of sin; Rejoice, obvious strengthening of the obvious piety of ascetics!
Rejoice, secret admonition of the servants of God hidden in the midst of the world; Rejoice, and do not forsake me of good deeds with Your Cover and grace!
Rejoice, our Joy, cover us from all evil with Your honest omophorion.
It is marvelous that the angels appeared from heaven in the Blachernae Church, the Apostles glorified the face of the saints and saints and the holy wives of the class, the Forerunner and the Theologian bowed down, and the people in the church cried out with joy: Alleluia!
The Lord, ruling over all above and below, saw You in the church, His Mother standing and praying to Him with tenderness, saying: Ask, My Mother, I will not turn away from You, but I will fulfill all Your requests and I will teach you all to sing in gratitude to You:
Rejoice, O Ark of the Covenant, in which is kept the sanctification of the entire human race; Rejoice, most holy one, in whom the Bread of Eternal Life is preserved for those who hunger for righteousness!
Rejoice, all-golden vessel, in which is prepared for our sake the flesh and blood of the Divine Lamb; Rejoice, you who accept those left by doctors into your omnipotent hands!
Rejoice, you who lift up those weakened in body, but not in spirit and faith, from the bed of illness; Rejoice, you who give new and better meaning to those who are destroyed by illness!
Rejoice, you who wisely trouble us on the obstinate path of sin and passions; Rejoice, touching cruelty of our unrepentant heart!
All praiseworthy angelic nature brings to You, the true Mother of God and Intercessor of all who flow to You, knowing that with Your indestructible Protection you rejoice the righteous, intercede for sinners, deliver the needy and pray for all the faithful, calling: Alleluia!
The prophets of many things, like dumb fish, are perplexed as to how to praise according to the heritage of the great feast of Your all-honorable Protection: everything that is said about You from them is not enough for a single calculation of Your bounties. We, seeing Your countless good deeds, cry out with joy:
Rejoice, you who protect us from the plague and all-destruction of mortals; Rejoice, preserving the cities and weights from sudden vibrations of the earth!
Rejoice, you who raised up from the flooding of waters and from drowning with a strong hand; Rejoice, thou who deliverest from the fiery dew of Thy prayers!
Rejoice, you who provide the bread of life from spiritual and physical hunger; Rejoice, you who take away the strikes of lightning and thunder from our head!
Rejoice, thou who savest from the invasion of foreigners and secret murderers; Rejoice, thou who protectest half-blooded ones from domestic strife and enmity with peace and love!
To save any human race from the charms of the enemy, the Lover of Mankind, the Lord, has given to You, His Mother, to help, protect and protect us on earth, so that you may be comfort to the sad, joy to the sorrowing, an Intercessor to the offended, and may you raise everyone from the depths of sin, singing: Alleluia!
“O Heavenly King, as the All-Immaculate Queen standing in the air said in prayer from the Angels, receive every person who prays to You and calls on My Name for help, so that he may not depart from My face empty-handed and unheard.” Having heard this all-good prayer, the gathering of saints cried out in gratitude:
Rejoice, thou who crownest farmers with pure hands and hearts with blessed fruits; Rejoice, I will buy help and righteous rewards for everyone who works!
Rejoice, nationwide denunciation of perjury and unrighteous acquisitions; Rejoice, sudden help for those in need along the way, on land and waters!
Rejoice, you who gladden childless parents with the fruits of the faith of the spirit; Rejoice, invisible teacher of motherless orphans!
Rejoice, strong Intercessor of those in captivity and exile; Rejoice, ever-watchful Guardian of those imprisoned!
We hear the all-tender singing and listen warmly to Your prayer for us; we ask You, Virgin Mother of God, do not despise the voice of Your servants: for we run to You in adversity and sorrow, and before You in our troubles we shed tears, calling: Alleluia!
Like a light-receiving light burning in prayer, seeing Thee in the air, the Blachernae Church, in agreement with the many people who were in it, exclaimed: “Where does this come from for me, so that the Mother of My Lord may come to me?” Saint Andrew and Epiphanius warmly pray to You, calling:
Rejoice, unenvious Giver of all spiritual and physical gifts; Rejoice, faithful Representative of sinners who begin the repentance of sinners!
Rejoice, ever-present Companion to those who fight the passions and attacks of the enemy; Rejoice, invisible taming of the cruel and bestial rulers!
Rejoice, secret peace and joy for the meek and suffering slaves; Rejoice, all-desired accomplishment of good marriages!
Rejoice, quick and painless resolution for mothers giving birth; Rejoice, at the hour of death, one Helper for all of us!
Ask us for Divine grace from Your Son and God, extend a helping hand to us, drive away from us every enemy and adversary and pacify our lives, so that we may not perish in cruelty without repentance, but accept us into eternal shelter, our Patroness, so that we joyfully call to You: Alleluia!
Singing Your sovereign Veil, we all praise You, as our steadfast Representative, and we worship You, who prays for us: we believe and hope that You have asked Your Son and God for eternal and temporal goodness, to all who cry out to You with love:
Rejoice, strong intercession of the whole universe; Rejoice, sanctification of all earthly and heavenly elements!
Rejoice, blessing of all seasons; Rejoice, all slander and temptations that come from the world, the flesh and the devil are trampled underfoot!
Rejoice, unforeseen reconciliation of bitterly warring people; Rejoice, unknown correction of unrepentant sinners!
Rejoice, you who do not reject the despised and rejected by all; Rejoice, you who snatch away the desperate from the pit of destruction!
O All-Sung Mother, Most Pure Lady, Virgin Mother of God! I lift up my spiritual and physical eyes to You, I stretch out my relaxed hand to You and cry out from the depths of my heart: look at the faith and humility of my soul, cover me with Your all-powerful omophorion, so that I may be delivered from all troubles and misfortunes, and at the hour of my death, O All-Good One, appear to me, and deliver the torment prepared for the sake of my sins, so that I may worship forever I call: Alleluia!
This kontakion is read three times, then Ikos 1: “Archangel and Angel are many...” and Kontakion 1: “Chosen by the Eternal King...”
Having not served the creation of God's wisdom more than the Creator, but having overcome the fiery rebuke manfully, I rejoice and sing: O venerable Lord and God of the Fathers, blessed art thou.
Undescribed by many prophets, you were unknown, O Virgin, as the heavenly Angel serving God: now we all know Thee, Mother of God, and we demand Thy help and intercession, O Blessed One.
The mountain strewn with the spirit, to the south Habakkuk saw that I sharpen healing sweetness for the faithful, Virgin Mary, heal us, crying out to Thy Son: Blessed is God our father!
Glory: He who has bowed the heavens has dwelt in You, O Virgin, and now looks at Your prayer, O Pure Mother of God, Yours, the Queen, fulfilling the request: For Him we earnestly pray, for we hope in You, O Blessed One.
And now: Creator, our Savior, Christ our God, accept Thy prayer to the Mother, who brings our sinners to Thee, and we sing to Thee rejoicing: O blessed Father of our God, blessed art thou!
The pious youths in the cave saved the Nativity of the Theotokos, then what was formed, now in action, raises up the entire universe to sing to you: Sing to the Lord’s deeds and exalt Him to all ages.
With the rank of Angel, Lady, with the honest and glorious prophets, with the supreme apostles, and with the holy martyrs and with the bishops, pray to God for us sinners, Your Protection is a holiday in the Russian land of glorification.
Overthrow pride and vacillation, and destroy the advice of unrighteous princes who are initiating hostilities, destroy, O Mother of God, Most Honorable Queen! and raise up the horn of our Pious Emperor, so that we glorify Your feast, O Most Pure Virgin Mary, calling: Sing the works of the Lord, and exalt Him to all ages!
Glory: Our lips bring You singing, and with our souls we faithfully worship: for within our hearts we burn. Most Pure Mother of God, have mercy on us who pray to You, and sing praises to the Lord, and exalt Him to all ages.
And now: Having been aggravated by many sins, I am perplexed about the merit of writing Your Protection, O Mother of God, praise: but, as the Mother of God, decorate Your holiday with miracles, so that we all rejoice in singing to the Lord, and we exalt Him to all ages.
Let every earth-born leap with the spirit of enlightenment, let the nature of disembodied minds triumph, honoring the sacred triumph of the Mother of God, and let it cry out: Rejoice, All-Blessed Mother of God, Pure Ever-Virgin!
High King, seated with the Father and glorified by Seraphim, look upon the prayer of the Matter, which brings sinners to You for us, and cleanse our sins, save the city, and multiply the people, give the Emperor health and salvation, and a vile victory, through the prayers of the One who gave birth to You.
An angelic voice cries out to You, God-chosen Virgin: Rejoice, who brought Adam back into paradise! Rejoice, you who drive away demons in Your name! Rejoice, hope of Christians, Rejoice, sanctification of souls, Rejoice, Guardian of our city!
Glory: Remember us in Your prayers, Lady Virgin Mary, may we not perish for the multiplication of our sins, cover us from all evil and cruel misfortunes: we trust in You and honor the holiday of Your Intercession, we magnify You.
And now: You have received a gift from God, as the Mother of God, to heal all Christians from illnesses and to deliver from troubles, and to forgive sins, and to save from captivity and all kinds of needs, but do not despise us, O Lady: weigh for what we demand, health to our bodies, and salvation to our souls.
O Most Holy Lady Virgin Mary! Cover us with Your wonderful omophorion, preserving the Emperor and people from all evil, just as the wonderful Andrew saw You in the Blachernae church praying: and now we, Lady, have received Your great mercy. (Thrice.)
On the praises of the stichera, on 4, tone 8, similar to: About the most glorious miracle:
We fall down before You, Lady, and, tenderly bowing to You, we cry out: Rejoice, God-blessed Lady, the Virgin of many names, the prophets faithfully represented: for in You, like the dew of Christ God, descended, and You gave birth, pure and unskilled, and You bore in Your hand all the Creator and Lord: To whom now pray for us, glorifying Your faithfulness Intercession holiday.
They sing to Thee, Virgin Mary, Angels of the Lord, and glorify the patriarchs and bishops, and the holy apostles, as the Mother of God honestly serves Thee, seeing Thee for the world making a prayer to the Savior of all, Christ God, Who prayed to deliver the city and the people, glorifying Thee faithfully, and honoring the feast of Thy Intercession. (Twice.)
More than Aaron's ark, God sanctified all of You with the Spirit, Mother of God, the Holy One: and more than the sun's rays, Your luminous omophorion illuminated the church and people, and drove away the darkness of our sins, delivering us from troubles and sorrows, by faith honoring Your honorable feast of the Intercession.
As the wonderful Andrew saw Thee in the air with the Archangel multitude, with the apostles and prophets and many martyrs, praying to Thy Son and our God for the city and people, the Lady, and covering with Thy honorable Protection, do not become poor even now, O Most Pure One, to save the considerable property of Thy Son, Thy most honorable feast is celebrated, much sung.
Prayer to the Blessed Virgin Mary
O Most Holy Virgin, Mother of the Lord of the Highest Powers, Queen of Heaven and Earth, our city and country, our all-powerful Intercessor! Accept this laudatory singing of gratitude from us, unworthy Thy servants, and lift up our prayers to the throne of God Thy Son, that He may be merciful to our iniquities and add His grace to those who honor Thy All-Honorable Name and with faith and love worship Thy miraculous image. We are not worthy of being pardoned by Him, unless You propitiate Him for us, the Lady, for everything is possible for You from Him. For this reason, we resort to You, as to our undoubted and speedy Intercessor: hear us praying to You, cover us with Your all-powerful Protection and ask God Your Son to be our shepherd, zeal and vigil for souls, a city ruler for wisdom and strength, judges for truth and impartiality, a mentor for reason and humility, a spouse for love and harmony, a child for obedience, to those who are offended patience, to those who are offended by the fear of God, to those who grieve complacency, to those who rejoice in self-control; to all of us the spirit of reason and piety, the spirit of mercy and meekness, the spirit of purity and truth.
To her, Most Holy Lady, have mercy on Your weak people; Gather those who are scattered, guide those who have gone astray onto the right path, support old age, bring up young ones with chastity, raise infants, and look down on all of us with the gaze of Your merciful intercession, raise us up from the depths of sin and enlighten the eyes of our hearts to the vision of salvation; be merciful to us here and there, in the land of earthly arrival, and at the Last Judgment of Your Son: having ceased in faith and repentance from this life, our fathers and brethren will live in Eternal Life with the Angels and with all the saints. For you are, Lady, the Glory of the heavenly and the Hope of the earthly, You, according to God, are our Hope and Intercessor of all those who flow to You with faith. We therefore pray to You and to You, as the Almighty Helper, we commit ourselves and each other and our whole life, now and ever and unto ages of ages. Amen.
Prayer to the Most Holy Theotokos for a person in sorrow and embitterment
Offering to my queen, my most holy hope, friend to the orphaned and strange, to the intercessor of the needy and the embittered, protection of the needy, behold my misfortune, behold my sorrow: I am possessed by temptation everywhere, but there is no intercessor. You Yourself help me, as I am weak, feed me, as I am strange, instruct me, as I am lost, heal me and save me hopelessly. There is no other help, no other intercession, no consolation except You, O Mother of all who grieve and are burdened! Look upon me, a sinner and in the bitterness of my existence, and cover me with Your most holy omophorion, that I may be delivered from the evils that have befallen me, and I will praise Your revered name. Amen.
Also: It’s worthy to eat... And the usual vacation.
Service and akathist to St. Archangel Michael
To the Lord, I cried, stichera,
The most illustrious Primate of the Trisolar Divinity, Michael the Archangel, calls with the powers on high, rejoicing: Holy art thou Father, holy art thou the co-original Word, holy art thou and Holy Soul, one Glory, one Kingdom and nature, one Divinity and power. (Twice.)
And your appearance is fiery, and your kindness is wonderful, Michael the first angel: by your immaterial nature you pass through the ends, fulfilling the commands of all the Creator, we know you strong in your strength. Twice.)
Create Thy angels, as it is written, spirits, and the fiery flame serving Thee, in the midst of Thy ranks of the Archangels, Thou hast pre-eminently shown, O Lord, Michael the Archangel, obeying Thy commands, the Word, and proclaiming the trisagion with fear to Thy Glory. Twice.)
Slava: Byzantium, voice 7th:
Rejoice to us, all the angelic ranks: for your primate and our intercessor, the great Archangel, on this day in his honorable church, the council of the faithful is diligently glorified and in prayers is called upon: cover us with the shelter of your wing, great Archangel Michael.
And now: Theotokos, the same voice:
Rejoice in us, all the virgin faces: for our Representative, and Intercessor, and Protection, and the great refuge, on this day of the all-honorable celebration, all those who mourn console: and therefore, according to our duty, we cry out: cover us with Thy Divine intercession, Most Pure Theotokos, Lady!
The official of the Highest Powers, Michael, today for the triumph of convening us, preserved us from every devilish situation: come, therefore, idle lovers, taking up the flowers of virtues, with pure thoughts and a prosperous conscience, let us honor the Primate of the Archangels: for he, continually standing before God and chanting the thrice-holy hymn, prays for the salvation of our souls.
Verse: Angels create your spirits and your servants a fiery flame.
Having preceded the heavenly people in boldness, and standing before the terrible throne in glory, witnessing the unspeakable mysteries, save us, Michael the Archangel, those who are in need of troubles and misfortunes, through your prayers.
Verse: Praise him, all his angels, praise him, all his might.
You are the first of the disembodied Angels, and a servant of the Divine Light, a witness of yourself and the secret of miracles, thus deliver us from troubles, Michael the Archangel, honoring your name with piety, and singing to the glory of the Most Holy Trinity.
The head of the heavenly ranks, the servant of the glory of the Divine, worthy having been the commandment of your Creator, you are a faithful intercessor for Christians with your immaterial power, protecting all earthly things; Likewise, out of duty, we all praise you, your glorious one is celebrating your triumph today, Michael the Archangel. You pray to Christ God to grant forgiveness of sins with love to those who glorify you.
Heavenly armies of the Archangel, we always pray to you, we are unworthy, and with your prayers protect us with the shelter of your immaterial glory, preserving us, falling diligently and crying out: deliver us from troubles, like the commander of the Highest Powers.
Lord have mercy. (Three times). Glory, even now: Same Psalm 50: Have mercy on me, O God...
I will open my mouth, and be filled with the Spirit, and I will vomit the word to the Queen Mother, and I will appear, brightly triumphant, and I will sing, rejoicing, of Her miracles.
Chorus: Holy Archangel Michael, pray to God for us.
We are always showered with divine lordships, my mind is illuminated by the praise of you, the Archangel of the heavenly armies, the affirmation of all who flow to you.
The pre-primordial mind, the pre-worldly rank of the chief of the show, most glorious Archangel, and the light of those in darkness, and the divine adornment of his Church.
Glory: Exceeding the minds of heaven in strength and splendor, and to those who are most generous, Michael, you appeared as a fence and affirmation, and a weapon that consumes enemies.
And now: All-Immaculate Virgin, joy of angels, help of men, help me, the sailor, who always falls into the storm of sin and is in distress.
Thy hymns, O Theotokos, living and unenvious source, spiritually establish the face of the whole body, granting crowns of glory in Thy Divine glory.
Divine Fortress, commander of the all-validated Angels, go around the whole earth, taking us away from the fierce ones who call on your glorious name.
As the preacher is God-like, as the representative of the faithful is not shameful, Thou art a guide and punisher of the erring, O most God-visionary Archangel.
Glory: You appeared as the purest mirror of the Divine radiance, illuminating the entire earth with the rays of the Trisolar Divinity, in heaven and on earth, to the most wonderful first angel Michael.
And now: Immaterial minds, formed by will, moved into Your material womb by desire, All-Immaculate One, we see in the flesh like nothing else seen.
The Face of the Angel, the Archangel having the divine Michael, with him brings silent singing to the Holy Trinity: from the non-existent, the Creator of all sorts of armies of fiery ranks brought with a word.
Glory, even now: The Hope of Christians, the Most Holy Virgin, whom You gave birth to God, more than mind and words, unceasingly pray with the Highest powers, to grant us forgiveness of sins and correction of life through faith and love, ever glorifying Thee.
Seated in glory on the Throne of the Divine, the Divine Jesus came in a light cloud with an imperishable hand, and those who called for salvation: glory, O Christ, to Thy power.
Intellect without beginning, You created the angelic minds with an omnipotent will, making Michael the leader in their midst, enlightened by the all-blessed communion of Your Glory, and showered with intelligent heads of God.
The trisagion hymn from the Thrones and Principalities, and the Powers, and the Powers, and the sacred Dominions proclaim to the Trinity, most glorious Michael.
Glory: We magnify all the Creator and the Lord, for His goodness He gave the insurmountable wall and took Michael to us, the luminous Archangel.
And now: Mentally, Virgin, the glorious Nativity of Thy Most Holy One, having foreseen the event of ancient times, the Prophet, called Thy overshadowed mountain, from the non-holy God came, we incarnate.
Everyone was terrified of Your Divine glory, for You, the unartificed Virgin, had God in your womb above all, and You gave birth to a lifeless Son, giving peace to all who sing of You.
You appeared as the leader of ancient Israel, a pillar of cloud in the days, and a pillar of fire in the night, disembodied Michael, the Archangel of the Angels.
We illumine you with immaterial radiance, and with divine communion you give us illuminating illumination, the first angel who calls on your name.
Glory: Be adorned with grace, your most venerable church: in this you appeared invisibly, like an endless source of healing, to Michael the first angel, consuming all sorts of passions.
And now: God showed the Clever Angels embroidered to Thee, dwelling in Thy falsehood, the Pure All-Immaculate One, whom one always prays for, to be generous to the singing One.
This divine and all-honorable celebration, O Divine Wisdom, Mother of God, come, let us clasp our hands, and from Her we glorify the God who was born.
The multitude of the faithful rejoice, praising you, Michael, and glorify the all-holy God, marvelous as he is with the angels, with His goodness.
You appeared many times to save the armies of Israel, Michael, and gave Divine commands, and brought down the enemies to the end.
Glory: When Joshua saw you, he bowed down, asking your honorable and holy name, and was overcome with reverence and fear.
And now: Blessed are the people who ever bless you, for you who gave birth to the all-blessed God, who deified the earthly one for mercy through indescribable unity with you.
Chosen commander of the Heavenly Powers and intercessor of the human race, we offer thanksgiving singing to you, who are delivered from the sorrowful, but you, as you stand before the throne of the King of Glory, free us from all troubles, and with faith and love we call to you in praise:
Rejoice, Michael, great Archangel, with all the Heavenly Powers.
Like the angelic fiery faces of the primate, with angelic skins and tongues, praise you more appropriately, Michael: but even before you admonish us, we have learned the disembodied verb, hear, even from human, both grateful lips, sits:
Rejoice, original star of the world; Rejoice, brighter light of truth and golden righteousness!
Rejoice, first receiver of the rays of uncreated light in the angelic faces; Rejoice, chief of the Angels and Archangels!
Rejoice, in him the glory of the Creative Right hand shines most brightly; Rejoice, in which the cathedrals of all incorporeal beings adorn themselves!
Seer of faith, the greatness of spiritual beauty and the power of your lightning right hand, Archangel of God, we, as earthly and fleshly, are filled with surprise, joy and gratitude to the Creator of all, calling with all the Heavenly Powers: Alleluia!
The mind is pure and free from passions, ask us, wonderful Michael, the ruler of the heavenly ranks, so that, having ascended in thought from the earthly to the heavenly, we will sing a song of praise to that lady:
Rejoice, God's indescribable beauty and kindness closest to the viewer; Rejoice, all-good advice of the Most Holy Trinity, sincere Mystery!
Rejoice, faithful executor of the eternal destinies of the Trinity; Rejoice, for the Heavenly hosts marvel at him with love!
Rejoice, who are glorified with faith by those born on earth; Rejoice, for whom the powers of hell tremble!
Revealing the power of irresistible zeal for the glory of God in yourself, you became at the head of the angelic faces, Michael, against the one who breathes malice, the proud star of the morning, and with his dark minions, from the heights of heaven into the underworld, the being was cast down, the host of Heaven, most gloriously led by you, with joy, like one mouth, before the Throne of God shouting: Alleluia!
To have you, Archangel Michael, the entire Christian race, a great intercessor and a wondrous helper in battles with the enemy: for this reason, for the sake of your wonderful protection, we wish to be honored, on the day of your triumph we cry to you:
Rejoice, for Satan was cast down from heaven like lightning; Rejoice, by whom the preserved human race ascends to heaven!
Rejoice, wonderful adornment of the all-bright world of the Mountain; Rejoice, glorious intercession of the fallen world!
Rejoice, no longer defeated by the forces of evil; Rejoice, established with all the Angels of God in truth and righteousness forever by the grace of God!
Rejoice, Michael, great Archangel, with all the Heavenly Powers!
Deliver us from the storms of temptations and troubles, the First Throne Angels, who celebrate your bright triumph with love and joy: for you are a great helper in troubles and in the hour of death from evil spirits the guardian and intercessor of all those who cry to your and our Master and God: Alleluia!
Seeing your boldness against the hordes of Satan, all the ranks of the Angels joyfully moved after you to fight for the name and glory of their Master, crying out: who is like God; We, who lead Satan to be defeated under your feet, call to you, as a winner:
Rejoice, to whom peace and silence have been established in heaven; Rejoice, for the worthless spirit of malice has descended even to hell!
Rejoice, you have directed the angelic armies and the forces of the invisible world to destroy evil; Rejoice, thou invisibly taming the disturbance of the elements of the visible world!
Rejoice, wondrous supporter of those who raise war against the spiritual wickedness in high places; Rejoice, Thou mighty helper to those who suffer in the temptations and misfortunes of this age!
A rich source of great miracles appeared in your church in Khoneh; They do not sharpen the great and terrible serpent, who abides in that place, using your power, but also the streams of water, healing every bodily ailment, opening up, and all the Lord of the Angels glorifying you, calling with faith: Alleluia!
Hearing and leading you like a great light, shining among the faces of angels, wonderful Michael, we resort to you, according to God and the Most Holy Mother of God: illuminate with the rays of your light all of us who cry out to you:
Rejoice, leader and guardian of God’s chosen people in the desert; Rejoice, high mediator of the law, given by the hand of Moses to Sinai!
Rejoice, from the wicked judges and leaders of Israel you have found strength and protection; Rejoice, through the prophets and high priestess of Judaism, the gift of knowledge from the omniscient God was received!
Rejoice, God-fearing lawgivers who provide secret wisdom; Rejoice, you have placed judgment and truth in the hearts of those who do good!
When I once saw Manoah, the herald of God's destinies, I was filled with bewilderment and fear, and thought that no one should live on earth; learned from his wife about the goodness of the appearance and the meekness of your words, in joy about the one who was born, according to your words, your son Sampson, cry out to God with gratitude: Alleluia!
You shone with wonderful glory, Michael, when you stood in the form of humanity before Joshua, saying: Break the boot from your foot: I am the Archangel of the power of the Lord. Wondering at your appearance, we cry out to you with love:
Rejoice, vigilant guardian of the divinely crowned heads; Rejoice, you who resist the government, as you who resist God’s command are quick to destroy!
Rejoice, pacifier of popular unrest; Rejoice, invisible abolitionist of evil customs!
Rejoice, for you enlighten those who doubt in the hour of fierce perplexity; Rejoice, for you deliver those who are tempted from destructive obsessions!
Although the Lord of all things shows that the lot of the sons of men is not an accident, but is held in His right hand, He has given you an intercessor and guardian for the kingdoms of the earth, and prepared tribes and peoples for the eternal Kingdom of God; For this reason, everyone who speaks about your great service to human salvation, gratefully calls to God: Alleluia!
New miracles have been shown to us, Archangel, by you on earth, the Creator and Lord of all miracles, when the church, created in your name, was wondrously saved from being drowned by river waters, commanding the streams of the stream to rush into the bowels of the earth: seeing the blessed Archippus with his spiritual children, he cried out to you in gratitude:
Rejoice, indestructible fence of the holy churches of God; Rejoice, the enemy of the grain of Christ is an insurmountable barrier!
Rejoice, for the elements obey His command; Rejoice, for by him all evil plans are crushed!
Rejoice, you who bring joy from the throne of the Almighty to the faithful; Rejoice, you who lead the unfaithful onto the path of righteousness and truth!
A strange miracle of your power, Archangel of God, was witnessed by Habakkuk, who, by the mania of God, took him away quickly from Judea to Babylon, to give food to Daniel, imprisoned in a den of lions: you were also amazed at the great effect of your power, cry out with faith: Alleluia!
You are all in the highest, Michael, standing before the Throne of the King of Glory, you are not far from the lower ones, fighting with the enemies of human salvation: in the same way, everyone who wants to achieve the desired Heavenly Fatherland according to you calls:
Rejoice, leader of the thrice-holy angelic singing; Rejoice, ever-ready representative and guardian of the earth-born!
Rejoice, proud Pharaoh and the infidel Egyptians, striking strangely; Rejoice, faithful Jews, glorious guide in the desert!
Rejoice, for the fire of the Babylonian furnace was extinguished!
All the monks of the Holy Mount Athos came to a joyful trembling, seeing how God-fearing the youth was, frantically cast into the depths of the sea with a stone by the wicked gold-lovers, saved by you: and the monastery that received him, flaunting your name, gratefully calls out to the Lord: Alleluia!
The ancient verbs and wise meanings do not suffice to express your power, Michael, how in one night you smote one hundred eighty and five thousand from the armies of the Assyrian king Sennacherib, so that the rest may be punished, do not blaspheme the Name of the Lord: to us who honor your holy zeal for the glory of the True God, we call with joy you say:
Rejoice, invincible commander of the Orthodox armies; Rejoice, fear and overthrow of evil armies!
Rejoice, planter of the right faith and worship of God; Rejoice, destroyer of soul-harming heresies and schisms!
Rejoice, you who have strengthened the pious Maccabees many times on the battlefield; Rejoice, having defeated the wicked leader of Antiochus Iliodor in the very church!
Be a strong helper to those who want to be saved, Archangel of God, deliver us and protect us from troubles and misfortunes, and even more so from our evil habits and sins, so that, prospering in the faith, hope and love of Christ, with joy about your previous intercession, we gratefully call to the Lady of Angels and men: Alleluia!
You are a wall to a believer, Archangel of God, and a strong pillar in battle with enemies visible and invisible: for this reason we are delivered from the snares of demons by you, with a grateful heart and mouth we call to you:
Rejoice, invincible opponent of faith and opponent of the Holy Church; Rejoice, tireless hastener of the humble proclaimer of the Gospel.
Rejoice, enlighten those who sit in the darkness of evil with the light of the faith of Christ; Rejoice, instructing those fooled by false wisdom onto the path of truth and repentance!
Rejoice, terrible avenger who swears the name of God in vain; Rejoice, lightning-fast punisher of those who mock madness about the sacraments of the holy faith! Rejoice, Michael, great Archangel, with all the Heavenly Powers!
All singing of praise is overcome by the multitude of your miracles, Archangel of God, which you have accomplished not only in Heaven and on earth, but also in the dark chambers of the underworld, where you bound the deep serpent with the bonds of the power of the Lord, so that by being delivered from his malice they will bless the Lord of Heaven and earth, calling: Alleluia!
Thou didst appear, the luminous servant of truth and purity of God-worship, to the Archangel, when he foresaw the machinations of the spirit of darkness, and forbade him in the name of God, so that the hidden body of the deceased leader of Israel, Moses, should not dare to be revealed for deification by the sensual sons of Israel: for this reason, now honoring thy divinely luminous cathedral, we cry out to thee with gratitude:
Rejoice, having preserved the purity of knowledge of God among the Jews during the days of the Old Testament; Rejoice, you who have many times eradicated the tares of error in the days of New Grace!
Rejoice, destroyer of pagan soothsayers and idols; Rejoice, strengthener of Christian ascetics and passion-bearers!
Rejoice, filling those who are weak in spirit with the power of God’s grace; Rejoice, thou who clothe those who are weak in the flesh with the whole armor of faith!
Ask grace from God from Heaven for us, singing in the glory of your all-honorable name, Michael, so that, overshadowed by your intercession, we will live in all piety and purity, until we are separated by death from the bonds of the flesh, we will be honored to appear before the fiery Throne of the King of Glory and cry out from the faces of the Angels: Alleluia!
Singing your manifold miracles, Michael, performed for our salvation, we pray to the Lord and Master of all, that the spirit of zeal for the glory of God, which is in you, will become scarce in us, who call you here:
Rejoice, you have placed faithful servants of God in times of need to the heights of power before; Rejoice, you invisibly cast down the daring and unworthy from the heights of power and glory!
Rejoice, on the last day of the chosen ones from the four ends of the earth you have a brother; Rejoice, for sinners, like tares, will, according to the voice of God, be consigned to eternal fire!
Rejoice, for Satan and his angels will turn into the lake of fire forever; Rejoice, for the righteous will dwell more gloriously in the abodes of the Heavenly Father!
O wonderful chief of Archangels and Angels, for your wonderful service to the salvation of the human race, accept from us the voice of praise and thanksgiving that is now raised to you, and as if filled with the power of God, cover us with your immaterial wing from all enemies, visible and invisible, so that we may call out to the Lord whom you glorify and glorify you: Alleluia!
This kontakion is read three times, then Ikos 1: “Like the fiery faces of Angels...” and Kontakion 1: “The chosen one of the Heavenly Powers...”
Having not served the creation of God's wisdom more than the Creator: but the fiery rebuke was bravely trampled, singing with joy: the revered Lord and God of the Fathers, blessed are you.
The Chief of the Angels became Michael the Archangel: with him the secret place of grace and the all-honorable betrothor of the Virgin, Gabriel, is glorified, foretelling joy to those crying: people exalt Christ to all ages.
Let us loudly praise the godlike and luminous chief angels, Michael and Gabriel, our good comforters, intercessors and guardians.
Glory: Handsome and all-beneficent and God-like, you were a leader more than the mind of immaterial spirits, the most luminous Michael: pray with them for all of us.
And now: the true Word of the Eternal Mind, co-essential, Virgin, seeing thee ineffably and terribly indwelling, cry out to Gabriel the Archangel: Rejoice, O Most Blessed One, on the throne of the Most High!
The pious youths in the cave saved the Nativity of the Theotokos, then what was formed, now in action, raises up the entire universe to sing to you: Sing to the Lord’s deeds, and exalt Him to all ages.
The ruler of incorporeal mental beings, the prosperous representative of men, God's servant, Michael, appeared gloriously, calling: sing and bless all the works of the Lord!
Like two bright lamps, Michael and Gabriel the Archangels, the three-bright Divinity, enlightening all creation, you drive away the fierce darkness.
Glory: Like the good helmsman of the Archangels, direct my spiritual ship, fallen and in distress from the storm of sins, to the haven of the Divine will.
And now: Bride-painter, the divine Archangel, having appeared, proclaim to Thee: Rejoice, brideless Bride of God, glory to angels and salvation and protection of men.
Let every earth-born leap with enlightened spirit, let the nature of the disembodied minds triumph, honoring the sacred triumph of the Mother of God, and let it cry out: Rejoice, All-Blessed Mother of God, Pure Ever-Virgin.
The splendor of your all-honorable church, Archangel, illuminated by the sacred mystery of your presence, emits lightning miracles and drives away the darkness of illnesses with Divine grace.
Like two beautiful and radiant beings, you serve the Lord’s command to those on earth, the most glorious Michael and the most wonderful Gabriel, taking away from the cruel, and sending saving enlightenment to everyone, by the Divine Spirit.
Glory: Today our disembodied minds rejoice with us, they glorify seeing their great and bright Archangel, and they lovingly celebrate with us, magnifying the Giver of Life.
And now: We bring You the voice of the divine Gabriel joyfully, O All-Pure One, and we cry: Rejoice, O Paradise, having in the midst the tree of life; Rejoice in God the Word, dwelling place and palace. Rejoice, proclamation of Adam and the entire human race!
Just as in ancient times you tamed the rivers of disorderly aspirations and noise, the Archangel of glory, so now you have consumed the tongues of pride and demons of ferocity, so that according to duty we honor you in songs with dignity.
They honor Thy Nativity without flesh, for Thou art the One who has filled all earthly joys: thus we glorify Thee, the All-Immaculate Faith, in hymns of praise.
On praise the stichera, tone 1
We sing faithfully to the celestial ranks as the leader, and to the mighty representative of the people who exist on earth, the guardian and deliverer, Michael the Archangel, praying to deliver us from all pernicious diseases.
This Chief of Officials of the Heavenly Divine Powers, today convenes human faces, together with the Angels you will compose a bright holiday, and together the trisagion hymn will be sung to God.
You have received the leadership of the fiery servants of God from the Father of lights, Michael, and thus the radiance of That Glory shining on you imash, standing around the terrible throne, as the primate of the angelic immaterial ranks.
Under the shelter of the immaterial wings, those who come running to us by faith, Michael, God-illuminated mind, protect and cover through all of life, and at the hour of death stand as the most reliable helper to all of us.
Glory, voice 5: Where your grace overshadows, Archangel, from there the power of the devil will be driven away: for the star of the moon cannot bear to see your light fall from heaven. Therefore, we pray to you, extinguish his fiery arrows that are moving towards us with your breath.
And now: We bless You, Virgin Mother of God, and glorify You faithfully, as an unshakable city, an insurmountable wall, a firm Representative and refuge of our souls.
Prayer to Saint Archangel Michael
Holy and great Archangel of God Michael, the inscrutable and all-essential Trinity, the first primate of the Angels, the guardian and guardian of the human race, crushing with his army the head of the proud Star in heaven and putting to shame his malice and deceit on earth! We resort to you with faith and we pray to you with love: be an indestructible shield and a strong shield for the Holy Church and our Orthodox Fatherland, protecting them with your lightning sword from all enemies, visible and invisible! Be the Guardian Angel, the wise adviser and assistant to our Most Pious Emperor, bringing to Him from the throne of the King reigning enlightenment and strength, joy, peace and consolation! Be the leader and companion invincible to our Christ-loving army, crowning it with glory and victories over our adversaries, so that all who oppose us will know that God and His holy Angels are with us.
Do not, O Archangel of God, forsake us through your help and intercession, who today glorify your holy name: behold, even though we are many sinners, we do not want to perish in our iniquities, but rather to turn to the Lord and be quickened by Him to do good deeds. Illuminate our minds with the light of the Face of God, which shines on your lightning-shaped brow, so that we may understand that God’s will for us is good and perfect, and we will know everything that is right for us to do and that which we should despise and abandon. Strengthen our weak will and weak will with the grace of the Lord, so that, having established ourselves in the law of the Lord, we will cease to be dominated by earthly thoughts and the lusts of the flesh, being carried away, like foolish children, by the soon-to-perish beauties of this world, as if for the sake of corruptible and earthly madness we forget the eternal and heavenly.
For all of these, ask us from above for the spirit of true repentance, unfeigned sadness for God and contrition for our sins, so that we may spend the remaining number of days of our temporary life not in pleasing our feelings and working with our passions, but in erasing the evils we have committed, with tears of faith and contrition of heart, deeds of purity and holy deeds of mercy. When the hour of our death and liberation from the bonds of this mortal body approaches, do not leave us, Archangel of God, defenseless against the spirits of wickedness in the heavens, who are accustomed to block the souls of mankind from rising to heaven: let us be protected by you, without stumbling we will reach those glorious villages of paradise, where there is no sorrow, no sighing, but life is endless, and having been honored to behold the radiant Face of our All-Blessed Lord and Master, falling with tears at His feet, let us exclaim in joy and tenderness: glory to Thee, our dearest Redeemer, Who, for Thy great love for us unworthy, Thou hast deigned to send Thy Angels to serve our salvation! Amen.
According to this: It is worthy to eat... and so on, and the usual vacation.
Akathist for communion of the Holy Mysteries
Chosen by the Marriage of souls and hearts, who by His incarnation and death on the Cross betrothed to Himself forever the entire human race, and who gave us His most pure Body and Blood as a pledge of eternal life, behold, according to Your voice, and I am unworthy, daring to come to Your Divine Table, and struck by its greatness, I cry out:
Jesus, God of my heart, come and unite me with You forever!
You sent Your angel to the seer Isaiah with a burning coal from the altar of Heaven, in order to cleanse his mouth, when he saw You sitting on the throne, he lamented over his uncleanness: I, defiled in soul and body, how dare I begin to partake of Your Divine Mysteries, unless You Yourself cleansed me from above; in the same way from the depths of my soul I cry to Ti:
All-merciful Jesus, touch the fire of Your grace to my unclean lips; Jesus, the thorns of my many sins fell!
Jesus, create in me a pure heart, and renew a right spirit in my womb; Jesus, bring my poor soul out of the prison of passions!
Jesus, consume in me unclean thoughts and evil desires; Jesus, direct my weak feet to the path of Your commandments!
You desired to eat with your disciples the last Passover before Your suffering, so that you might teach them in the midst of it the last and greatest guarantee of Your love, and before the two days You sent two from them to Jerusalem, so that they would prepare it as they went. Learning from here how it is appropriate for us to prepare for ourselves the good time to eat our Divine Passover, that is, Your Body and Blood, I gratefully call You: Alleluia!
Break the boots from your feet, for the earth you stand on is holy, you spoke to Moses from the bush that was burning and unburnt, from your invisible presence in it. The vessel containing Thy Divine Body and Blood is truly greater and holier than the burning bush: but I am ringed, unclean, sold for sin: with the same I cry out to Thee with humility and faith:
O Jesus Almighty, put off me the old man with his deeds; Jesus, kill the seed of the aphid nesting in me!
Jesus, break the bonds of sin in which the enemy binds me; Jesus, give me a humble heart and a contrite spirit!
Jesus, drive away temptation and enticements from Me; Jesus, strengthen me in faith and love for You!
Your fathers ate manna in the desert and died: I am the bread that came down from heaven, and whoever eats from it will live forever; and the bread which I will give, My flesh is, which I will give into the belly of the world, was proclaimed by the Jews, who sought to see from You a sign from heaven, similar to the manna of Moses: as we hear and see the event that was foretold, we call with fear: Alleluia!
Having risen from supper, as Saint John relates, and girded with lazyness, You washed your feet as a disciple, teaching this, let us not approach Your Divine meal, unwashed by the tears of repentance for our sins. Feeling the dire need of this mysterious ablution, and the poverty of the tears of my hardened heart, I cry out to You with Peter:
Most gracious Jesus, Who Himself washed not only my nose, but also my hand and head; Jesus, expose before me the abyss of my spiritual corruption!
Jesus, open up in me the source of heartfelt contrition; Jesus, water me with drops of Your mercy!
Jesus, wrap me in the fear of judgment and eternal torment; Jesus, awaken the conscience that sleeps in me and strengthen its voice!
Is this not Jesus, the son of Joseph, whose father and mother we know; How does this one say, as if he had descended from heaven; and how can the flesh give us its food, the Jews said among themselves, having heard about Your glorious promise to be given as food to the faithful, not leading, due to the hardening of their hearts, to humbly believe and cry out to You: Alleluia!
Even though you have taken the flesh of the Son of Man and do not drink His blood, do not have life in yourself, You proclaimed to the inert, who believed in the Jews, even if the word was hard to hear and was shown to some of Your disciples who are still ignorant of the secrets of the Kingdom of God: but we, illuminated by the light of the Gospel and the revealed face of Your Divine glory, see, with faith and love we call Ti:
Jesus, all mighty by the majesty of Thy power and might; Jesus, do and have done more than we can understand and conceive!
Jesus, manna from heaven once rained down as a sign of the present sacrament; Jesus, for the transformation of the same water flowing from the stone!
Jesus, the Jews sent a cloud of dyes to feed the hungry in the desert. Jesus, in the sight of the doubting Jews themselves, feeding five thousand people with five loaves!
To the disciples eating at supper, you blessed and broke the bread and gave it to them, saying: Take, eat, this is My Body, broken for you, for the remission of sins; Then, having given the cup, you said: Drink from it, all of you: this is My Blood, shed for you, for the remission of sins. We listen to this Divine and most sweet voice and call with thanksgiving: Alleluia!
He who eats My Flesh and drinks My Blood abides in Me, and I in him; he will have an eternal life, and I will resurrect him on the last day, and this is the resurrection of life and bliss: for this longed-for resurrection in the life, seeking to be worthy, from the depths of my soul I cry out to Thee:
Jesus, draw near to those who seek union with You; Jesus, come into my womb, into all my joints and all my bones!
Jesus, be the light of my darkened mind; Jesus, fill with yourself the abyss of my heart, insatiable by the whole world!
Jesus, speak with the voice of my conscience; Jesus, move and control my will!
Amen, amen, I say to you: only one will betray Me from you, O Lord, thou art in tribulation of spirit, Thy disciple at the supper. They, even if purified from the intent of the legend, food I am, ask You every time, showing by this the depth of their humility. I am like the Ti River, seven times a day I fall and betray You; Otherwise, You Yourself keep me, so that I will not fall away in the end, crying out to You with gratitude: Alleluia!
Just as a rod cannot produce fruit for itself unless it is on the vine, so you, unless you abide in Me, and whoever is in Me and I in him, will produce much fruit: working in secret, Thou didst teach Thy beloved disciples on the way to Gethsemane. Heeding this instruction and knowing the weakness of my nature without Thy grace, I diligently cry out to Thee:
Jesus, most heavenly worker, plant me Yourself in Your life-giving heap; Jesus, true vine, attach me to You like a wild rod!
Jesus, thou who never dryeth up the root, fill me with the juice of eternal life; Jesus, conqueror of all deadness, cut off what has dried up in me from the heat of passions!
Jesus, red with kindness, decorate me with flowers of good feelings and thoughts; Jesus, rich in mercy, provide me with the fruits of true repentance and righteousness!
And who is the one who betrayed You, I asked the disciple who was reclining at the supper on Your breasts; There is one, you answered, and I, having soaked the bread in salt, will give it to him; ' and you gave the bread to soak to Judas Simon Iscariot, urging him to repentance; He is hardened by the spirit of malice, not wanting to understand the voice of love of his Teacher and Lord: from what hardness of heart may I be delivered by Thy grace, calling out to Thee: Alleluia!
Sparing the weakness of our nature, which averts the eating of human flesh, not in reality, but in the guise of bread and wine, You deigned to give us Your most pure Body and Blood. Wondering about such condescension of Your wisdom to the weakness of our nature, I gratefully glorify You:
Jesus, with wisdom and love for mankind, build the whole work of our salvation; Jesus, adapt Your most saving sacraments to the weakness of our understanding and feelings!
Jesus, to assure those who doubt, at the holy meal many times instead of bread and wine He revealed Your very Body and Blood; Jesus, worthy servants of the altar of the Most Holy Spirit, descending for the consecration of the gifts, showing!
Jesus, instead of the unworthy servants of the altar, send Your angels invisibly to perform the Divine sacrament; Jesus, by the manifestation of miracles at the holy meal, many of the most evil-believers were converted to faith!
And according to the bread, that is, after eating from the bread You gave to the traitor, as Saint John tells, Satan entered into him. Ole terrible executions for disbelief! Ole of the ill-fated traitor! What should have been for salvation was found in death and destruction! Before such a judgment of Thy righteousness I stand in awe, with fear and trembling I call to Thee: Alleluia!
Do this in remembrance of Me, being a disciple at the supper, teaching them Your Body under the guise of bread, and Your Blood under the guise of wine. By the same token, as often as we eat from the bread and drink from the cup, we proclaim Your death, according to the word of St. Paul. Remembering now Your sufferings with tenderness, I call to You:
Jesus, who willingly gave Himself into the hands of Your enemies for the salvation of the world; Jesus, you did not allow the legion of Angels to appear in Your defense!
Jesus, turning the unfaithful disciple to repentance by looking at him and by the voice of the alector; Jesus, Caiaphas and Pilate, who foolishly asked You and did not give an answer!
Jesus, who crucified You from the cross and asked the Father for remission of sins; Jesus, most mercifully adopted by Your Mother, Your beloved disciple!
Judas, who betrayed the Son of Man with a kiss, called out to the mountaineer to the unfaithful disciple, when he came with the spire to the city of Gethsemane, seeking to betray You with a kiss. Otherwise, do not strike this sharp verb with repentance in the soul, hardened in evil. Knowing the inconstancy of my will, I am afraid that I will never give You the ungrateful kiss of Judas: You Yourself, strengthen me with Your grace, so that with the prudent thief I will call out: Alleluia!
Father, may they all be one, as You are in Me, and I am in You, that they too may be one in Us, so that the world may have faith, as I breathed forth from You, as You proclaimed in your last great prayer to the Father. Following this sweet voice of Yours and daring about the power of Your prayer, I proclaim to You with faith:
Jesus, you have joined us all in one, unite us all inseparably with You and Your Father; Jesus, we have reconciled everyone, grant that we may all be like-minded in faith and love for You!
Jesus, do not tolerate hostility and divisions, consume evil heresies and schisms; Jesus, love and have mercy on everyone, gather all the lost sheep into one flock!
Jesus, give peace to all, quench envy and bickering among those who call on Your name; Jesus, partake of Your very Body and Blood, so that I may truly be flesh of flesh and bone of Your bones!
At the supper in Cana of Galilee, turning water into wine, You showed the first sign of Your Divine power. Going to the cross, as the bridegroom of souls, you showed the last miracle of love to those who believe in You, turning bread into Your Body and wine into Your Blood, with the image I was satisfied and into the eternal life, I gratefully call to You: Alleluia!
On the day of Thy resurrection, two of Thy disciples traveled in the form of a pilgrim to Emmaus, and Thou didst teach them about the mystery of Thy sufferings; but their eyes were dumb, but they did not know Thee, even though their hearts were filled with grief from the sweetness of Thy words. When you bowed down to their prayer, you came in with them and, having blessed the bread, you gave it to them: Abi opened his eyes, so that he knew You. Like these disciples, I dare to humbly raise my voice to You:
Jesus, long-suffering, do not leave me alone on the path of life because of the poverty of my faith; Jesus, teach me, like them, to understand the prophecies about You and the mystery of the grace-filled union with You!
Jesus, warm and ignite my cold heart, like those disciples; Most gracious Jesus, come with me, for I have already bowed down to the evening of the day of my life!
Jesus, grant me to truly know You in the present breaking of the mystical bread and in the drinking of the cup; Jesus, make me so that, having learned the power of Your love, I will be a herald of it for my brothers!
To the victor you promised to give food from the tree of life, which is in the midst of the paradise of God, and from the hidden manna. For this tasting in heaven, let the communion of Your Body and Blood be my preparation on earth, to which I, unworthy, now approaching, call: Alleluia!
He who eats and drinks unworthily, eats and drinks judgment for himself, does not judge the Body and Blood of the Lord, the celestial Paul admonishes those approaching communion: by the same token I fear and tremble at my unworthiness; But let me not withdraw from Your communication for too long, I will be hunted by the mental wolf, I come to You with a voice like this:
Jesus, receive me as you received the publican, the harlot and the thief; Jesus, do not disdain to bring my soul under the roof, even if it is all empty and scorched!
Jesus, open the eyes of my soul, as you opened the eyes of one who was blind from birth; Jesus, the prophets, and to me, like the weakened one: arise and walk!
Jesus, stop the current of unclean desires of my soul, as you did the currents of a bleeding woman; Jesus, heal the leprosy of my soul and conscience!
Through the envy of the devil, the mouth of the serpent who spoke, the whole human race, by eating from the forbidden fruit, destroyed paradise and was given over to death. By partaking of Your most pure Body and Blood, all earth-born eternal beings are made worthy of life and ascend to their first possession. The cure for the poison of the serpent and the seed of immortality is the communion of Thy life-giving Mysteries: with the same gratitude I call Thee: Alleluia!
Behold, I stand before the vessel with Your Divine Mysteries, but I do not retreat from my evil thoughts; Your only omnipotent grace encourages and attracts me: with the same, plunging myself into the abyss of Your mercy, I cry:
Jesus, call to rest in You all who labor and are burdened; receive also me, weary of the vanity of the world; Jesus, who came to call not the righteous, but sinners to repentance, release me from my sins and passions!
Jesus, heal every ailment and every ulcer, heal the wounds and rot of my soul; Jesus, you have satisfied the hungry, satisfy me with Your Body and Blood!
Jesus, you raised the dead, quicken me, who died in sins; Jesus, conqueror of hell, deliver me from the jaws of the spirit of evil!
O sweet and all-generous Jesus, let me come down like manna from heaven to nourish our souls and hearts in the sacrament of Your most pure Body and Blood, grant me the ability to partake of Your Divine Mysteries without condemnation, may I be healed, nourished, sanctified and deified by You forever, I gratefully call You: Alleluia!
