Blessed David, this great king of the Lord, after terrible wars with foreigners, after great trials from his fellow tribesmen, after painful wanderings and continuous deceit in response to his good deeds, after the uprisings of his relatives, after the kingdom, when he felt that he then planned to build a house for the Lord God and God accepted him, as he who had planned a good seed would bring his good undertaking to completion, citing as the reason that that he shed a lot of blood on the ground. And he obeys God's admonition, and joyfully accepts the instruction, and prefers it to his own plan. And he himself does not build the church of God. And he passes on the material and model to his son; I think I have learned the rules of salvation. And - so as not to lengthen the speech, setting out in detail the contemplated meaning of all the mentioned things separately - the peaceful church of God is capable, and if anyone cannot be brought to serve by fear, and damage, by participating in the construction of the most holy church, both Hiram, king of Tire, and one hundred and fifty thousand foreign stonecutters and water-carriers.
