The holy maiden Paul buried their bodies and, returning to Nicodemus, continued her good deeds and benevolence to the confessors of Christ. For this she was captured, tortured and, being unshakable in her faith, sent to execution in Byzantium, where she was beheaded on the very spot where Lucillian was crucified. Seeing the crowd gathered, he ordered his men to continue on their way, and he himself, accompanied by a slave, went there, wanting to see what was happening there. Approaching the place of execution, he saw that the abbot of each of his disciples, to whom the turn of execution had reached, took the hand and handed it over to the executioner, loudly chanting the sacred song to encourage the confessors. What impression such courage of faith made on the soul of the magician, what feeling arose in the depths of his heart, was immediately revealed by the deed itself. His spiritual eyes opened, and over the bodies of the slain he saw a cross shining with flame. He hastened to dismount from his horse, changed clothes with a slave, approached the abbot and said to him: “I saw an extraordinary phenomenon, and your God truly determined that I should die with you; accept me as one of your disciples and hand me over to death, but here no one knows me.” Barsavius ​​fulfilled his request for the sake of a wonderful vision. Already nine of the students had been executed: he took the magician by the hand and handed him over to the executioner; thus the unrecognized new confessor was beheaded. The last student was already the eleventh, so little attention was paid to the number of those executed! Finally, Barsavius ​​was beheaded. Their heads were brought in and placed in the church of Neita for fear of the Christians. But the opposite happened. The magician's act was announced throughout the country, and many Persians turned to faith, including his family.
