ОТДЕЛ I. О БОГЕ-СПАСИТЕЛЕ

“God was in Christ reconciling the world to himself” (2 Cor. 5:19). In St. In Scripture and in the teaching of the Orthodox Church, the work of our salvation is assimilated to God in general, as the work common to all the Persons of the Holy Trinity; and - especially to the Son of God, our Lord Jesus Christ, who came to earth to accomplish this work, became incarnate, suffered and died on the cross. That is why God in general 1 is sometimes called our Savior, and sometimes, in the closest sense, the Son of God, the Lord Jesus 2. On this basis, and when revealing the teaching about God the Savior, let's say: I) about God as our Savior in general, since all the Persons of the Holy Trinity participated in the work of our salvation, and - II) about our Lord Jesus Christ in particular, as the very Head and Perfecter of our faith and salvation (Heb. 2, 10; 12, 2). For example: To the only wise God and our Savior, Jesus Christ our Lord, be glory and majesty, dominion and authority before all the ages, and now and to all ages (Jude 25). Paul is the messenger of Jesus Christ, according to the commandment of God our Savior and the Lord Jesus Christ, our hope (1 Tim. 1:1). This is good and pleasant in the sight of our Savior God, who desires for all man to be saved and to come into the understanding of truth. For there is one God and one intercessor for God and men, the man Christ Jesus (- 2, 3. 4). When the grace and love for mankind appeared of our Savior God, not by the works of righteousness which we have done, but by His own mercy He saved us by the washing of renewal and renewal of the Holy Spirit, which was poured out upon us richly, Jesus Christ our Savior (Titus 3:4-6). And in the books of the church: “Hear us, O God, our Savior, the hope of all the ends of the earth...; For You are a merciful and lover of mankind, and to You we send glory to the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit...” (exclamation at the Litiya). Or: “For You are the King of the world and the Savior of our souls, and to You we send glory to the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit...” (exclamation from the 6th song of the canon). For example: Father of the ambassador of the Son of the Savior to the world (1 John 4:14). Grace, mercy, peace from God the Father, and the Lord Jesus Christ, our Savior (Tit. 1, 4; demo. 2, 13; 3, 6). And also: “Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the great God and Savior, our hope...” (Service sheet 128 on the reverse. M. 1817). “Lord God, Creator and Master of all..., not despising man..., but through the saving incarnation of Your only begotten Son, the Lord and God of our Savior Jesus Christ, again sought and saved and brought to Himself...” (Treb. l. 247, M. 1836).
