Изъяснение псалма 53-го.

Ps.53:1. To the head of the choir. On string instruments. David's teaching. Ps.53:2. When Ziph came and said to Saul, “Is not David hiding with us?” "To the end, in the songs of reason to David." “Once upon a time Zipheus came and said to Saul, “Have you not sat down, David hid himself in us?” The content of the psalm is clear, because the great David praises God, who helped him and made him escape the enemy’s snares. The Ziphites pretended to show friendship to David and informed Saul where he intended to hide. And one day Saul, believing these informers, marched against David with numerous squads. Then, when he thought to catch him by accident, Saul was prevented by an attack from foreigners. For, having learned that they had taken up arms against his country, he returned back, hastening to defend those who were attacked. Then the great David proclaimed this song to God, who heeded his prayer and put an end to the expected disaster. Ps.53:3. God! Save me in Your name, and judge me in Your power. “God, in Your name save me.” For my safety, says the Prophet, it is enough to call on Your name. So the divine Apostles performed great miracles. For the Apostle says: “in the name of Jesus Christ arise and walk” (Acts 3:6). “And in Thy power judge me.” You are righteous and the source of truth, says the Prophet, therefore judge me and those who attack me unjustly. Ps.53:4. God! Hear my prayer, listen to the words of my mouth. “God, hear my prayer, inspire the words of my mouth.” Accept my petitions with favor. Ps.53:5. For strangers have risen up against me, and the mighty are seeking my soul; they do not have God before them. “As strangers rose up against me, and with strength they sought my soul.” I have need of Your help, Lord, being persecuted by the hostile, who firmly hope for great power and want to put me to death. They dare to do this against me because they do not know Your providence. The Prophet added this, saying: “And not setting God before you.” Having offered this prayer and foreseeing that help would soon be given to him, he calls out: Ps.53:6. Behold, God is my helper; The Lord strengthens my soul. Ps.53:7. He will repay the evil of my enemies; By Your truth I will destroy them. Ps.53:8. I will diligently offer a sacrifice to You, I will glorify Your name, Lord, for it is good. Ps.53:9. For You have delivered me from all troubles, and my eye has looked upon my enemies. “Behold, God helps me, and the Lord is the protector of my soul.” “The evil one will turn away my enemy; consume them with Thy truth.” “I will devour you according to my will.” And I, says the Prophet, have been taught by Your grace that You will make me worthy of Your providence; and you will subject those who caused them to the disasters that were prepared for me and pronounce a truthful verdict on them. For this is what the words mean: “Consume them by Thy truth; I will devour You with my will.” Having been worthy of this mercy, with all my zeal I will offer sacrifices pleasing to You. And describing the very type of sacrifice, the Prophet added: “Let us confess to Your name, O Lord, that it is good.” “For you have delivered me from all sorrow, and my eye has looked upon my enemies.” I will offer You a sacrifice of praise, confessing Your good deeds, because this is useful to me and pleasing to You. It is fair for me to do this, having freed myself from dangers of all kinds and having seen the destruction of my enemies. You might be interested in:
