Изъяснение псалма 150-го.

"Alleluia", Alleluia. And this is a victory song; Divine knowledge predicts the future of all people. Ps.150:1. Praise God in His holiness, praise Him in the firmament of His power. "Praise God in His Saints." This is a sufficient incentive to chant. If we are commanded to take plants, animals, and reptiles as an occasion for thanksgiving; all the more right is it to look at the Saints and sing songs to their God. For who, studying the deeds of blessed Paul, or the divinely wise Peter, or the divine John, or the other Apostles, or the virtuous martyrs, or those now striving in virtue, will not move his tongue to the song of Him who bestowed such an abundance of blessings on people? “Praise Him in confirming His power.” And Symmachus translated this: Praise Him in His impregnable stronghold; because one has a firm, undying, eternal power. Ps.150:2. Praise Him according to His power, praise Him according to the abundance of His greatness. "Praise Him in His strength" ; because the successes constantly accomplished by His Saints are unspeakable. “Praise Him according to the abundance of His majesty.” This is similar to what we have already interpreted, namely: “His greatness has no end” (Psalm 144:3). His greatness, says the Prophet, is limitless, His power is immeasurable. Therefore, do not stop praising Him for everything. Ps.150:3. Praise Him with the sound of a trumpet, praise Him with the psaltery and the harp. Ps.150:4. Praise Him with tympanum and faces, praise Him with strings and organ. Ps.150:5. Praise Him with loud cymbals, praise Him with loud cymbals. “Praise Him with a loud voice.” This instrument was priestly; because the priests used trumpets in memory of those trumpets that were heard on Mount Sinai. “Praise Him with the psaltery and the harp:” “Praise Him with the tympanum and the face, praise Him with the strings and the organ”: “Praise Him with the cymbals of good harmonies, praise Him with the cymbals of shouting.” These instruments were used by the Levites of old, in the divine church, singing songs to God, not because God was pleased with their sound, but because the intention with which this was done was pleasing to Him. Ps.150:6. Let everything that breathes praise the Lord! Hallelujah. “Let every breath praise the Lord.” Let it not only be the Jews who praise, but all people as well; because, as the divine Apostle says, “He is not the God of the Jews only, but also of the tongues” (Rom. 3:29). Therefore, in Psalm one hundred and forty-four the Prophet said: “Let all flesh bless His Holy Name” (Psalm 144:21), and here he says: “Let every breath praise the Lord.” But even there he meant more than just flesh, and here he means more than just breath, but on the contrary, with both, body and soul, he commands to sing songs to the God of all. This end of the entire creation is worthy of surprise, and he agrees with the purpose of the prophecy. For the prophecy preaches salvation to the pagans, and the end of the prophecy commands those who have received salvation to sing songs to the Benefactor. But we don’t just hear words, we see the deeds themselves. For in every city, in every village, in the fields, in solitudes, on mountains and hills, in uninhabited and completely deserted places, the God of all is hymned. And I ask those who read this book, if it seems that it has been interpreted well and successfully, to reap the benefit from this, and if in some place we have not comprehended the hidden mysteries of the Spirit, not to reproach us too much. For what they could find, they offered it to everyone without stint; What they themselves learned from their fathers, they took pains to convey to their offspring. We have endured labor, but to others we bring benefits that we can easily gain, and I beg them to reward this labor with prayers, so that, supported by them, we can add deeds to words, and gain satisfaction for both. For it is said: “Whoever does and teaches, he will be called great in the Kingdom of Heaven” (Matthew 5:19). May God grant that we all may be worthy of this Kingdom in Christ Jesus our Lord, with whom be glory to the Father with the Holy Spirit forever! Amen. You might be interested in:
