His “obedience” was also clearly revealed through those who crucified Him. Therefore, if the crucifiers themselves turn out to be witnesses that He was heard, - if, I say, so, then He desired to die and asked that the will of His Father be done. He also brought petitions with strong prayer (cry) to the One who could He who came to die did not pray for liberation from death, and He did not ask for resurrection after death, if this had already been promised to Him, but He prayed for those who crucified Him, so that they would not suffer death for that. And He was heard in His prayers, since access was opened so that those who crucified Him could receive life. And the One who did this, that is, Who, before such humiliation and suffering, humbled Himself for the sake of His murderers, He is the Son of God - from where it was revealed that He was heard, precisely because “he suffered,” since some of His murderers turned and by their repentance became preachers of His resurrection. So,” he says, “having been accomplished, that is, having accomplished all this through obedience, He became for us the author of eternal salvation - instead of Adam, who through his disobedience was the cause of death for us. But not just as Adam’s death reigned over those who had not sinned, so life reigns over those who were not justified (Rom. 5:13); for, although He is the Giver of life, He gives it only to those who and not those who turn away from Him. Hebrews 5:10. And He is called the High Priest - and not named in the likeness of Aaron, but Hebrews 5:11.
