The missal got its name from the fact that it contains the divine service of the liturgy; three liturgies are celebrated in the Orthodox Church: the liturgy of St. John Chrysostom, liturgy of St. Basil the Great and the Liturgy of the Presanctified Gifts; All of them are contained in the book of the Service Book. In addition to the liturgies, the Service Book contains prayers for Vespers and Matins (for the priest and deacon). In addition to the content shown, the Service Book has an additional part, which contains rites and prayers performed along with the services of the daily circle. They are: a) the rite of blessing koliva, offered in honor and memory of the Lord's feasts or saints of God, since it is added to vespers or liturgy; b) the rite over the kutya in memory of the departed, since it is performed at the liturgy and at vespers; c) the rite of litia performed for the departed, as it occurs after the dismissal of Vespers and Matins; d) prayers for communion. These ranks are set out in the Service Book as a supplement to it. So that the priest and deacon, if possible, can have the entire service in one book, short, variable prayers are added to the Missal for convenience, which are pronounced by the priest and deacon at Vespers, Matins and Liturgy. These prayers are: firstly, Vespers, Matins and Liturgies are dismissed; secondly, the prokeimna of the Gospels of the Morning, the prokeme of the Apostles, alleluia and sacraments of the liturgy. In the daily dismissals the daily saints are remembered; Therefore, in the Service Book a month book is printed with the meaning of the saints who are remembered daily by the Church; the month book is supplemented with prokeimnas, alleluiaries, and hymns from the Monthly Menaion, which are related to the remembered saints and are pronounced at services by a priest or deacon. After the month, the Service Book is printed in special sections: prokeimny, alleluia, sacraments - from Triodei, from Octoechos and from the General Menaion.
