Deut.32:2. My teaching will fall like rain, my speech will fall like dew, like fine rain on the greenery, like rain on the grass. Deut.32:30. How could one pursue a thousand and two drive away the darkness, if their Protector had not betrayed them, and the Lord had not given them up! Deut.32:31. For their intercessor is not like our Intercessor; our enemies themselves are the judges of that. “Our enemies themselves are the judges of this,” that Jehovah is the fortress of Israel. See Ref. 14.25; Number 22–24; Joshua 2.7–11. Deut.32:32. For their grapes are from the vine of Sodom and from the fields of Gomorrah; Their berries are poisonous, their clusters are bitter; Deut.32:33. their wine is the poison of dragons and the deadly poison of asps. The final chord of the song of Moses: the judgment of God's truth is menacing, but it is disastrous only for stubborn apostates from Jehovah; His faithful sons will be saved. Together with the faithful sons of Israel, the pagans should also triumph, since “the blood of the slaves has been purified,” “vengeance has been given to the enemies,” “the people and the land have been purified.” According to the interpretations of Ap. Paul (Rom 15.8–12) and Christian writers, Moses prefigured in this place the spiritual joy of the members of the Church of Christ, into which both pagans and Jews should enter (Rom 11.1). Deut.32:47. for this is not empty for you, but this is your life, and through this you will remain for a long time in the land into which you are going through the Jordan to take possession of it. Deut.32:48. And the Lord spoke to Moses that same day and said: Deut.32:49. Go up to this mountain of Abarim, to Mount Nebo, which is in the land of Moab, opposite Jericho, and look at the land of Canaan, which I am giving to the children of Israel for a possession. Deut.32:50. and die on the mountain to which you will ascend, and be united to your people, as Aaron your brother died on Mount Hor and was united to his people, Deut.32:51. because you sinned against Me among the children of Israel at the waters of Meribah in Kadesh, in the wilderness of Sin, because you did not show My holiness among the children of Israel; Deut.32:52.
