Numbers 10:1. According to some, Hobab was a son; according to others, he was the younger brother of Jethro, the son of Raguel (cf. Ex. 18). Numbers 10:31. Moses said: Do not leave us, because you know how we are camped in the desert, and you will be an eye for us; Hovav could be useful to the Jews with his acquaintance with the desert.
