At the end of the upcoming sacred rite, you will hear, brethren, such a teaching, before which all our broadcasts are nothing, for you will hear the teaching from our Lord and Savior Himself, spoken after the washing of the feet of the apostles, and through them, to all of us. With such a word from the very Word of the animal, any teaching on our part would be inappropriate and even daring. Why did I come before you now? – Precisely in order to draw your attention to this word of our Lord, which, due to its brevity, does not attract the attention of many; Meanwhile, all the power lies in him, and all our broadcasts cannot replace one iota in him. So, do not miss the precious opportunity to collect the precious beads of the words of Christ and place them in the best and strongest treasury of your heart. In general, brethren, we ask and pray you, do not stop at what your eyes see, but transfer your thoughts to the One whose face we depict before you, imagine not a weak and insignificant person bowing before his own kind, and perhaps much better people, but how the Lord of glory served instead of a servant to his creatures, how, doing everything for our salvation, for the sake of this same salvation, he now washed the feet of the disciples, washing the symbol keeping sacred the desecration of our deeds, and giving us an example of the deepest humility. If you contemplate the present sacred rite in this spirit, then, we are confident that it will not remain without fruit for your souls, and you, returning to your homes, will not idly talk about how the ceremony was performed, who spoke or acted and how, but in the silence of spirit and heart, with tears of tenderness in your eyes, consider diligently with yourself how you should act, how to humble your pride, curb anger, to eradicate the exaltations of the flesh, how, guided by love, endure humiliation, endure insults and overcome evil with good.
