(Said on September 2; printed in Moscow and Gubernia. Ved. 1853, No. 106).
Most pious Sovereign!
“There is a time for every thing under heaven” (Eccl. 3:1), says the Wise One.
The Orthodox Church always has You as its protector: but at the present time it especially sees You in this feat. For its shrine in the East, for the safety and tranquility of fellow believers, You rose up with the weapon of the powerful truth of the Royal word: and the fearful concern that it spread in foreign kingdoms gives us a sign that Your word will be victorious over opposing forces, just like Your weapon.
Imbued with sympathy for Your thoughts, our souls from the depths cry out for You to the King who gives salvation: “Lord, in Your power let the King rejoice” (Ps. 20:2).
