Meeting Your high, peaceful gaze with joyful eyes, we cannot help but remember with gratitude that we continue to see in You the Peacemaker and Preserver of the world. At the beginning of this year, when threatening “hearings of war” (Matthew 24:6) worried governments and peoples, the first voice before others came from Your Throne in order to extinguish the emerging sparks of war with a common peaceful council. And when war broke out in Italy, Your government did not cease, and does not cease to remain vigilant, guarding the peace of Europe. May the God of peace continue to bless Your care for inner and outer peace; and may the peaceful weapons of royal wisdom, truth and foresight help You to defeat everything that is hostile to the peace of the Church and the good of the Fatherland.
