(Acts 5:1–11; John 5:30–6:2) Why did Ananias and Sapphira sin so much? Because they forgot that God sees their deeds and thoughts. If they had kept in mind that God sees everything, both outside and inside, more clearly than all people and even themselves, it would not have occurred to them to bend their souls like that before the Apostles. This is why all our sins and sinful intentions occur. We manage to hide everything from human gaze, and we think that everything is fine. People definitely don’t see anything and give us the price as if they were in good working order; but this does not change our essential insignificance. Knowing this, repeat to yourself: why does Satan make my heart lie to God’s face? His eyes, brighter than the sun, see in the hidden recesses of the heart; neither the night, nor the sea, nor the underground hides from Him. Remember this, and therefore arrange your internal and external, albeit invisible, behavior. If the All-Seeing One were alien to us, we could still be indifferent to His omniscience; otherwise He is also the Judge, and His judgment, by virtue of omniscience, often pronounces before drinking tea. Perhaps, there He is already destined to immediately pronounce judgment on us, when we are still thinking of hiding with our sins in a dark lie: “God does not see!” You might be interested in:
