(2 Thess. 1, 1–10; Luke 12, 13–15, 22–31) “Who made Me a judge or a divider between you?” (Luke 12:14) - the Lord said to the one who asked for a division with his brother. Then he added: “Do not worry about what... to eat and drink and what to wear” (Luke 12:22, 29). First he taught: “Let the dead bury their own dead” (Luke 9:60); another time he suggested that “it is better not to marry” (Matt. 19:10–12). This means that the attention and heart of Christians, deviating from everything worldly, and freedom from rumors and worldly bonds constitute one of the features of the spirit of Christianity. The fact that the Lord blesses marriage and affirms its indissolubility, which restores the power of the commandment that defines the relationship between parents and children, and leaves its meaning to civil authority and civil order, does not erase this feature and does not give Christians the right to evade keeping it and planting it in the heart. Compare the two and you will see that you have a duty, despite the whole worldly system, to keep your heart lifeless. How is this possible? Decide for yourself with your life; This is all practical wisdom. The Lord guides the solution to this with the following rule: “seek first the Kingdom of God” (Matthew 6:33, Luke 12:31). Focus all your attention on allowing God to reign in you, and everything in life will lose its astringent and oppressive charm for you. Then you will conduct your affairs externally, but your inner, your heart, will be possessed by something else. But if, as a result of this, the determination is born to stop this external attitude towards everyday things, you will not be at a loss: you will become closer to the goal that the faith of Christ will give you.
