(Col. 4, 10–18; Luke 10, 1–15) Will there be in the next world such condescension towards those who do not accept the Lord as He showed towards those living on earth? No, it won't. Sending the “seventy” (Luke 10:1) to preach, the Lord commanded them, so that when they were not received, they would say there at the crossroads: “And the dust that has stuck to us from your city, we shake off to you; however, know that the Kingdom of God has drawn near to you” (Luke 10:11); that is, we don’t need anything of yours: we do not preach for any gain, but to proclaim to you the peace and Kingdom of God. If you don’t want to accept this benefit, whatever you want; we move on. This is what is commanded for the present, but what about the future? “It will be more bearable for Sodom on that day than for that city”... (Luke 10:12) Therefore, unbelievers have no reason to hope for the condescension of the Lord. They can only be free to do what is on earth, but like death, the whole thunderstorm of God’s wrath will fall on them. It is a great misfortune to fall into disbelief! And on earth they are unhappy, because without God and the Lord Jesus Christ the Savior and Redeemer, everything here is gloomy and joyless, and what is there is impossible to describe and imagine in words. It would be more gratifying to be destroyed, but even this will not be given to them. You might be interested in:
