(Gal. 3, 23–4, 5; Mark 6, 30–45) “And they fled there on foot from all the cities... and gathered to Him” (Mark 6:33) - this is to the desert of Bethsaida, where a miraculous feeding of five thousand with five loaves and two fish took place. What drew the people to the Lord? Compassion for the Divine. The divinity of the Lord, hidden under the cover of human nature, reveals itself in word, deed, look and in everything that was visible in the Lord. Manifestations of the Divine awakened the feeling of Divinity hidden in the heart and through it attracted one to the Lord. No one has the power to restrain such a movement, not only an outsider, but also one who feels it himself, because it is deeper and stronger than any other movements. The same Divine, later manifested by the Savior, attracted people of every language under heaven to Him. The same has been true throughout the history of the Church and is still valid today. A small trace of the Divine attracts to itself. What follows from this everywhere and all-time experience of the aspirations of our spirit towards the Divine? That which is Divine, that which is supernatural, that which is Divine, is its source. This desire lies at the basis of our spirit and constitutes its nature, as anyone can see from our mental, aesthetic and active concerns. But in nature there cannot be lies and deception; therefore, they are not present in this striving for Divinity. From here it follows that God and the Divine exist, and that natural scientists who reject the supernatural go against the nature of the human spirit. You might be interested in:
