(2 Cor. 12, 10–19; Mark 4, 10–23) God breathed in the breath of life, and man became in the image of God. It is the same in rebirth: by the breath of the Spirit of God, which comes from unknown where and how, the beginnings of a new life are laid and the image is restored. This is the starting point; from here begins the work of raising the image into perfect likeness. He who is reborn in the image of the Creator is transformed by the Lord's Spirit from glory to glory, but not without us; our work and diligence, but creates in revival: by the breath of the Spirit of God, which is unknown from where. This is the ideal and the way to realize the image and likeness of God in yourself! And how much they write and talk about education! Meanwhile, in the word of God it is all defined in a few words. Just undertake to carry out what is prescribed, and education will by itself proceed successfully towards the goal. This is God's way; but he does not exclude human ways, on the contrary, he gives them direction and crowns them with success. When only the human remains, then education is usually insufficient, with damage, and often completely distorts those being educated; then further and life all goes wrong. Where those who are crookedly brought up multiply, the whole society begins to crook more and more, both in life and in its views.
