(Rom. 5, 10–16; Matt. 8, 23–27) We crossed to the other side of the sea. The Lord was sleeping. A storm arose and everyone was horrified, and they forgot that the Lord was with them and that, therefore, there was nothing to be afraid of with Him. This happens in the order of life, everyday and spiritual. If a storm of troubles or passions arises, we usually become alarmed to the point of relaxation, and think that this is in the order of things; and the Lord sends us a lesson: “believers of little faith!” (Matthew 8:26) And rightly so! It is impossible not to pay attention to what happened; but you can always maintain reasonable calm. First of all, look at what the Lord wants from you, and humbly submit under His strong hand. Don't worry, don't worry. Then raise your faith that the Lord is with you, and fall at His feet in prayer. But do not cry out: “I am perishing!”, but cry out with devotion: “Lord! if you want, you can (Matthew 8:2, Luke 5:12). However, not my will, but Your will be done” (Luke 22:42).
