What God the Father deigned to be, what the Son of God fulfilled in Himself, the Holy Spirit has now descended to appropriate to the believers. For our salvation “accords to the foreknowledge of God the Father, through sanctification of the Spirit, through obedience and the sprinkling of the blood of Jesus Christ” (1 Pet. 1:2). For this reason, we are baptized “in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit,” pledging to “keep everything that I have commanded you” (Matthew 28:19-20). Those who do not profess the Most Holy Trinity cannot have a part in the saving actions of Her Persons and, therefore, receive salvation. Glory to the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit, the Trinity, consubstantial and indivisible, who has given us confession of Himself! “Father Almighty, Word and Soul, the three most essential and divine nature united in the Hypostases, we were baptized into You, and we bless You forever” *11.
