29. Завеса или покрывало

What is veiled or covered with a veil, we do not see. So we don’t see the sun, covered by clouds. We do not see a face covered with a scarf or clothing. We don’t see things lying behind the veil, and so on. So, for every unrepentant sinner, for every fornicator and adulterer, for every predator, thief and bribe-taker, for every lying and deceiver - in a word, for every unscrupulous person, a certain veil hangs before his eyes, and a kind of veil lies over the eyes of his soul and does not allow him to see what blessings he is deprived of, how he is going to bitter destruction. He goes into a ditch and does not see the ditch, and will fall into it if he does not look around. Satan, the enemy of man, arranges this veil and veil for those people who live carelessly, do not heed the Word of God as a lamp for our feet, and abandon prayer, without which any person is blind; arranges so that they do not see death. This veil or veil is taken away when a person turns to the Lord with a true heart. Then he will see his disaster and destruction. Then he will understand where he was, how he was mistaken. Then he will begin to sigh, cry and sob. Then he, no less than rising from sleep, will begin to walk as he walked before. “Therefore it is said: Awake, you who sleep, and rise from the dead, and Christ will give you light” (Eph. 5:14). “O Lord God of Hosts, turn us and make Your face shine, and we will be saved” (Ps. 79:4).
