130. Сосуд полный и пустой

The same thing as the vessel is the human heart. The heart is like a vessel. The vessel is full, filled with water or something else, and does not contain anything else. On the contrary, an empty vessel is convenient for the perception of everything. Therefore, people empty the vessel when they want to pour or put something else into it. So is the human heart. When it is empty and does not contain worldly and carnal whims, it is convenient to perceive God’s love; and when it is filled with the love of this world, carnal lusts and sinful addictions, then the love of God cannot fit into it. How can a heart filled with love of money, pride, love of fame, lust, anger, resentment, envy, pride and other lawless passions contain the love of God? What does light have in common with darkness? (2 Cor. 6:14). The love of God is God’s highest gift, and it is found there where the heart, through true repentance, contrition and regret, is freed from evil addictions and sinful customs, and is purified and prepared to receive this heavenly gift. If we want, Christians, for the love of God to take root in our hearts, let us free it from the love of this world and its whims and sinful customs, and turn our hearts to God, our only essential Good and Bliss, and to eternal blessings. Then God’s sweetest love will dwell in our hearts, and then we will taste and see how good the Lord is (Ps. 33:9). Both the bitterness and the sweetness of a thing are known by taste. How sweet honey is, those who taste it only know it; How sweet God is and His holy love, only those who love God know and feel His sweetest love in their hearts. He who has an ear to hear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches: To him who overcomes I will give to eat the hidden manna (Rev. 2:17). You might be interested in:
