I am the Lord your God, who freed you from the land of Egypt and from the land of slavery. May you have no other gods besides Me (Exodus 20:2). Thou shalt not make an idol or the likeness of any creature that is in the heavens, or below on the earth, or in the waters, or under the earth. And do not worship or honor them as gods (Ex. 20:5). Do not mention the name of the Lord your God for the sake of an empty deed, for the Lord will not purify the person who mentions His name for the sake of an empty deed (Ex. 20:7). Remember the Sabbath day to sanctify it: six days you shall work on all your work, but on the seventh rest from all work, devoting this day to the Lord your God (Ex. 20:8). Honor your father and mother, so that you may be happy and that your life on earth may extend for many years (Ex. 20:12). Thou shalt not commit adultery (Ex. 20:13). You shall not bear false witness against your brother by false testimony (Ex. 20:16). You shall not covet your brother’s wife, nor his house, nor his field, nor his male or female servant, nor his ox, nor his donkey, nor any of his other livestock, nor any of your brother’s other property (Ex. 20:17).
