К Тимофею второе послание Апостола Павла

Machine translation from the original · Show original
Paul, by the will of God an Apostle of Jesus Christ, According to the promise of life in Christ Jesus, to Timothy, the beloved son: grace, mercy, peace from God the Father and Christ Jesus our Lord. Instruction in Faith to Timothy I thank God, Whom I serve, from my ancestors, with a clear conscience, that I constantly remember you in my prayers day and night, and I wish to see you, remembering your tears, so that I may be filled with joy now, when I bring to mind your unfeigned faith. And before that faith dwelt in your grandmother Lois and in your mother Eunice; I am sure that it dwells in you too. That’s why I remind you: warm up the gift of God given to you through the laying on of my hands. God gave us a spirit not of fear, but of power and love and chastity. So do not be ashamed of the testimony of our Lord Jesus Christ, nor of me, His prisoner, but have compassion (with me) for the gospel, with the help of God’s power. God saved us, and from God we had a holy calling, not according to our works, but according to His will and grace, given to us before the eternal years in Christ Jesus. Now that grace has been revealed by the appearance of our Savior Jesus Christ, who destroyed death and revealed life and incorruption - in the gospel, for whom I was appointed preacher and apostle and teacher of the pagans. This is the reason for my current suffering; but I'm not ashamed. I know in whom I have placed my faith, and I am confident that He is able to keep what I have placed in Him until that day. Always have before you the type of sound teaching that you have heard from me, with faith and love about Christ Jesus. With the help of the Holy Spirit living in us, keep the good tradition entrusted to you. You know that all our people from Asia have left me; among them Figel and Hermogenes. Send, O Lord, mercy to the house of Onesiphorus: he calmed me many times and was not ashamed of my bonds; and when he was in Rome, he looked for me with great care and found me. May the Lord grant him mercy from the Lord on that day. And how long he served me in Ephesus, you know better. Chapter 2. The ministry of preaching the Gospel But you, my son, be strengthened in the grace that is in Christ Jesus. And what you heard from me in the presence of many who heard it, pass it on to faithful people who are able to teach others. And you endure suffering like a good warrior of Jesus Christ. No warrior binds himself to everyday affairs in order to please the military leader. And whoever wrestles in a competition will not receive a victorious crown if he did not fight according to the law. It is worthy for the toiling farmer to be the first to partake of the fruit. Consider what I say, and may the Lord give you understanding in everything. Always keep before you in memory the Lord Jesus Christ, risen from the dead, who was of the seed of David, as my gospel teaches; This is why I labor, and for this I suffer even to the point of being imprisoned, like a villain; but it is impossible to bind the word of God with bonds. And therefore I endure everything for the sake of the elect, so that they too may receive salvation in Christ Jesus, with eternal glory. The true word: “if we died with Him, we will also live with Him.” If we endure (with Him), then we will reign with Him; if we deny, He will deny us. Even if we are unfaithful, He remains faithful, for He cannot deny Himself. The Danger of Empty Contests about Faith Repeat all this to people. Conjure, as before the face of the Lord, not to enter into verbal disputes, which does not in the least serve to benefit, but to the frustration of those listening. Try to place yourself worthy before God, a workman who is not ashamed, who faithfully speaks the word of truth. And stay away from worthless idle talk: those who indulge in it will continue to prosper in wickedness and their teaching will spread like cancer (gangrene). Such are Hymenaeus and Philetus. They have retreated from the truth - they say that the resurrection has already taken place, and some are destroying the faith. But the solid foundation of God stands, and this seal lies on it: “The Lord knows those who are His” and “Let everyone who names the name of the Lord depart from unrighteousness” (Num. 16). In a large house there are vessels not only of gold and silver, but also of wood and clay, some for honorable use and others for low use. So, whoever is clean from this (from such errors) will be a vessel of honor, sanctified and useful to the Master, fit for every good deed. – Flee youthful lusts, and adhere to truth, faith, love, peace with all those who call on the Lord from a pure heart. Avoid stupid and ignorant competitions, knowing that they give rise to quarrels, but the servant of the Lord must not quarrel. He should, on the contrary, be friendly to everyone, teachable, and kind; to instruct opponents with meekness, whether God will not give them repentance to the knowledge of the truth - and then they will be freed from the snare of the devil, who has ensnared them in his will. Chapter 3. Coming disasters and temptations of faith Know that in the last days difficult times will come. People will be self-loving, money-loving, arrogant, proud, slanderous, disobedient to parents, ungrateful, wicked, incapable of love; implacable, slanderers, intemperate, cruel, unwilling to do good, traitors, arrogant, pompous, devoted to pleasures more than to God; They have only the appearance of piety, but have rejected its power. Stay away from such people. Among them are those who creep into houses and seduce empty women, drowning in sins, led by various lusts, always students and never able to reach the knowledge of the truth. Just as Jannes and Jambres opposed Moses, so these also resist the truth, people of a corrupt mind, ignorant of the faith. But they will not have much time, for their madness will be revealed to everyone, as it was with those (with Jannes and Jambres). – You followed me in teaching, in lifestyle and disposition, in faith, generosity, love, patience; in the persecutions and sufferings that befell me in Antioch, Iconium, and Lystra. I endured all those persecutions, and the Lord delivered me from them all. And everyone who wants to live godly in Christ Jesus will be persecuted. Evil people and deceivers will prosper worse, deceiving others and being deceived themselves. But you continue in what you have been taught and what has been entrusted to you, knowing by whom you were taught. The Holy Scriptures, which you know from childhood, can make you wise for salvation through faith in Christ Jesus. All Scripture is inspired by God and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for training in righteousness - may the man of God be perfect, prepared for every good work. Therefore I charge you before God and the Lord Jesus Christ, who is coming to judge the living and the dead at His appearing and His kingdom. Preach the word, be present in time and in season, exhort with all longsuffering and teaching. For the time will come when they will not listen to sound doctrine, but after their own lusts they will heap up for themselves teachers, having itching ears; and they will turn away their ears from the truth and turn to fables. But you, Timothy, be vigilant in everything, endure sorrows, do the work of an evangelist, fulfill all your ministry. But I have already become a victim, and the time of my departure has come. He fought the good fight, he finished his course, he kept the faith. And now the crown of righteousness is kept for me, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will reward me on that day, and not only to me, but also to all those who loved His appearing. Try to come to me soon. For Demas left me, having loved the present age, and went to Solun, Crescent to Galatia, Titus to Dalmatia: Luke alone is with me. Take Mark and bring him with you: I need him for service. When you go, bring the phelon, which I left in Troas, with Carpus, and books, especially leather ones. Alexander the coppersmith did me a lot of harm: may the Lord reward him according to his deeds. Beware of him too: he strongly opposed our words. At my first acquittal, no one was with me, but everyone left me. May it not be imputed to them. The Lord came to my aid and strengthened me, so that my gospel spread and all the pagans heard, and I was delivered from the jaws of lions. And the Lord will deliver me from every evil deed and save me into His heavenly Kingdom. To him be glory forever and ever. Amen. My greetings to Priscilla and Aquila and the house of Onesiphorus. Erastus remained in Corinth, but I left Trophimus sick in Miletus. Try to come before winter. Greetings to you from Evvul and Pud and Lin and Claudia and from all the brothers. The Lord Jesus Christ is with your spirit. May grace be with you. Amen. You might be interested in:
