International Youth Day: Common Aspirations, Beyond Different Contexts is this year's themetranslated

International Youth Day is marked annually on August 12 and brings attention to the contribution of young people to the development of society, as well as the challenges and opportunities that influence their path.

The theme of the 2026 edition is "Different contexts, common aspirations", which highlights the fact that although the realities they live in differ from country to country, young people share many goals and expectations for the future.

Common values despite different realities According to the United Nations, young people around the world broadly want dignity, access to quality education, development opportunities, decent jobs, real participation in community life and prospects for a sustainable future.

This year's theme pays special attention to young people from least developed countries, landlocked developing countries and small island developing states.

Globally, challenges include unequal access to education and jobs, social exclusion, lack of digital connectivity, the effects of climate change and concerns about mental well-being.
