“ In 2025, under the aegis of the Pilgrimage of Justice, Reconciliation, and Unity, the council experienced a year steeped in history and tradition, as the WCC celebrated a host of anniversaries,” writes WCC general secretary Rev. Prof. Dr Jerry Pillay in the foreword. “The array of activities and initiatives highlighted in this annual review testifies, of course, to the great and pressing needs of today ’ s world.”

The annual review portrays the deep well of faith that inspires Christians around the world to join hearts and hands with to heal the world.

Good edition, but again the same words about "Pilgrimage of Justice" and "unity". I would like to see specifically what they did this year for the persecuted Christian communities in Africa and the Middle East, not just general reports.

I appreciate the review coming out in four languages — that’s practical. But like Γιώργος said, I’d also like to see some specific examples of what the WCC actually did this year for persecuted Christian communities in Africa and the Middle East, instead of just the usual “Pilgrimage of Justice” phrases. Concrete stories would mean more to me.

The multilingual part is handy — my roommate’s wife is French and she might actually read it. But like Γιώργος and Mary said, I’d like to see a couple of concrete examples from 2025: which African or Middle Eastern communities did the WCC visit or support, and what exactly came out of it. The “Walking Toward Unity” title sounds nice, but the specifics would help.

I agree with George, we have been seeing the same slogans for Pilgrimage of Justice for years now. I too would like to read specific examples of persecuted communities in Africa and the Middle East, not just general phrases. Is there a detailed account somewhere?

Niko, you are right, we have been hearing the same words about the Pilgrimage of Justice for years. I would like to see specific examples from communities in Africa and the Middle East, as you say, not just in general. Do you know if they have produced a more detailed report in Greek?

No, Petro, I have not seen any detailed report in Greek. All I found was a short bulletin in English with a couple of examples from Kenya and Lebanon, but nothing specific to communities. Do you know anyone from the Synod we can ask?
