All-night vigil on the eve of the day of remembrance of Venerable Manefa of Gomeltranslated

Venerable Manefa of Gomel went through a life full of difficult trials, maintaining strong faith, patience and love for people. Bodily infirmities did not interfere with her prayer service: people came to mother for spiritual advice, support and consolation. And today believers turn to the Venerable Manefa with prayer in illness, sorrow and everyday difficulties, asking for her intercession before God.

On the eve of the day of memory of the Venerable Manefa of Gomel, on the evening of August 10, 2026, believers gathered under the arches of the Peter and Paul Cathedral in Gomel to prayerfully honor the memory of the holy ascetic of the Gomel land.

The all-night vigil was celebrated by His Eminence Stefan, Archbishop of Gomel and Zhlobin, and His Eminence Ambrose, Bishop of Borisov and Maryinogorsk.

The archpastors were concelebrated by the secretary of the Gomel diocese, Archpriest Georgy Alampiev, the dean of the churches of the Gomel city district, Archpriest Igor Olshanov, the dean of the monasteries of the Gomel diocese, Abbot Theodorit (Zolotarev), rectors of the city’s parishes and the clergy of the diocese.

At the end of the service, Archbishop Stefan addressed the worshipers with an archpastoral word and taught...

I didn't know much about St. Manefa before this, but the part about people coming to her for counsel even when her own body was weak really stuck with me. Sounds like the kind of steady faith you can lean on in tough times. Thanks for posting the details from the vigil in Gomel.
