Bishop Alexy performed an evening service at the Church of Saints Boris and Gleb in Chelyabinsktranslated

On the eve of the celebration of the memory of the holy seven youths, also in Ephesus, Metropolitan Alexy of Chelyabinsk and Miass performed an evening service in the church of the noble princes Boris and Gleb in the Metallurgical district of Chelyabinsk. The ruling bishop was co-served by the dean of the Northern Deanery, Priest Andrei Kovshevny, the rector of the church, Archpriest Sergius Desyatkov, and other clergy. During the service, an akathist to the Dormition of the Mother of God was read. In his sermon, Metropolitan Alexy thanked everyone for their joint prayer and noted that during the Dormition Fast, at evening services, according to tradition, akathist singing to the Queen of Heaven is performed. “We celebrate the Dormition of the Mother of God with joy, and not with sadness, because the Most Holy Theotokos has risen and dwells at the right hand of Her Son, God, and is an Intercessor and Prayermaker for the entire Christian race. The Feast of the Assumption assures us of the general resurrection of the dead - our faith is based on this.
Tomorrow the Holy Church commemorates the seven youths of Ephesus, who were walled up in a cave, fell asleep there and were resurrected almost two centuries later. This became another evidence of the resurrection of the dead. The Lord shows us many miracles testifying to this truth...
