Missionary actions were held in the Tara diocese for the Day of the Baptism of Rus'translated

August 1, 2026 · 1 min read

On the days of celebrating the memory of the Holy Equal-to-the-Apostles Prince Vladimir and the Day of the Baptism of Rus', missionary and educational events were held in the deaneries of the Tara diocese.

In Tyukalinsk, Tara and other areas of the diocese, banners dedicated to this date were installed, and leaflets of the Synodal Missionary Department were placed on information stands.

The end of the summer shift at the STAYER tent camp also received missionary content. The head of the Missionary Department of the diocese and the rector of St. John the Baptist Church of the second cathedral city, Archpriest Dimitri, visited the children, talked with them about the meaning of the Baptism of Rus' and presented each with an icon of St. Sergius of Radonezh as the patron saint of students.

The Sunday school youth activists, together with the priest, distributed educational materials to city residents.

Similar events were held in other deaneries of the diocese, uniting the flock in days of common memory of the spiritual origins of the Fatherland.

It's good that they put up banners in Tjukalinsk and Tara, you can immediately see that something is happening. It's nice that Father Dymitr went to this STAYER camp and gave the kids icons of Saint. Sergius, it's a specific gesture. Have you done something similar in our parish this year?

In Moscow this year we also hung banners at the church for the holiday, but it’s interesting to hear about the STAYER camp - it’s good that Father Dimitri didn’t just talk, but also gave icons of Sergius of Radonezh to everyone. Specific approach. Do many people in Tyukalinsk read the leaflets on stands or just pass by?
