On August 6, on the day of the 175th anniversary of the formation of the Railway Troops of the Russian Federation, ceremonial events were held in the city of Svobodny with the participation of military personnel of the 50th separate railway brigade.
During the ceremonial formation of the personnel, the rector of the Church of the Martyr Tsarevich Alexy, Archpriest Valery Syrtsov, addressed the military personnel. The priest congratulated the soldiers on the anniversary of the Railway Troops and wished them God's help, strength of mental and physical strength in the difficult service of the Fatherland.
On the same day, a chapel was consecrated in honor of the holy noble princes-passion-bearers Boris and Gleb, whose memory the Church commemorates on August 6.
The chapel was built on the territory of a military unit in honor of Saints Boris and Gleb, revered as the heavenly patrons of the Russian Railway Troops. The consecration took place in the presence of the command and personnel of the 50th separate railway brigade.
