In Svetlogorsk, rescuers prayed in front of the Burning Bush icon of the Mother of Godtranslated

A Divine Liturgy took place in the Church of the Transfiguration of the Lord in the city of Svetlogorsk, during which employees of the Svetlogorsk regional department for emergency situations prayed. The divine service on September 17, 2026, the day of veneration of the Burning Bush icon of the Mother of God, was led by the dean of the Svetlogorsk district, Archpriest Alexander Kisel.
Addressing those gathered, Archpriest Alexander Kisel spoke about the spiritual meaning of the holiday. Since ancient times, the Icon of the Mother of God “The Burning Bush” has been revered as an image of intercession from fire, natural disasters and other dangers. Therefore, the prayer appeal to the Mother of God on this day is especially close to people whose professional activities involve risk and saving human lives.
In a joint prayer, the Ministry of Emergency Situations employees asked for peace, harmony and unity, the well-being of the Motherland, as well as God’s help and protection for those who serve every day and come to the aid of people in emergency situations.
At the end of the Liturgy, a water blessing prayer was performed. Employees of the regional emergency department venerated the Burning Bush icon of the Mother of God and asked for blessings for their service.
