Good to see another Orthodox school opening, especially one named after Suvorov. My daughter’s old enough now that we’d be looking at high school options soon — does anyone know if they take kids from out of town?

My niece went to a little Orthodox school in the countryside for a couple of years and it made a huge difference to her confidence. Nice to hear Suvorov’s name on one – he was always big on discipline and honour. Timothy, did you ring them yet to ask about boarding or day places for outsiders?

My niece tried something similar near Topeka a few years back and it settled her right down too. Suvorov’s name fits; the man drilled discipline into his troops without breaking their spirit. Timothy, any word yet on whether they take older kids as day students?

Yes, this is good news for Suzdal. The name Suvorov sticks well, he knew how to instill discipline without crushing the children. Timothy, have you ever contacted management to find out if they accept day students from elsewhere?

Yes, Suvorov is a good choice, he trained solid men while respecting their character. I haven't called management yet, but I think that for external students it mainly depends on the places available this year. Are you planning to send someone from your family there?

My boys would probably straighten up fast under that kind of setup too. Suvorov’s mix of strict order and respect for the person always struck me as very Orthodox. Rebecca, did your niece stay in the day program or was it boarding?

My niece went the other way — she was a handful at 14 and the local state school only made it worse. The Suvorov approach of firm routine plus respect seems to work for a lot of teens. Timothy, do they take day students from outside Suzdal at all?

My niece did the day program for her first year, then switched to boarding in grade 8. The routine really did settle her down, same as what you said about Suvorov’s balance of discipline and respect. Did your boys ever try anything like that, or was it just wishful thinking on your part?

My oldest grandson hit that same rough patch at 14 in the public middle school here in Pittsburgh. The structure and respect you mentioned made a real difference once we switched him to a smaller academy. Timothy, any word on whether they accept day students from outside the town?

My son looked at a military-style academy down in Texas when he was 15 and the structure helped him focus without crushing his personality, same idea as Suvorov. Good to hear it worked for your niece near Topeka. Timothy, have they said anything about boarding options for out-of-town kids?
