Nine people joined Orthodoxy in the Kenyan capital Nairobitranslated

Nine people joined the Orthodox faith in the Russian Orthodox Church on September 20, 2026 in the capital of Kenya, Nairobi.

On this day, at the Russian parish in honor of the Great Martyr Panteleimon, seven people were baptized, and two more were received into Orthodoxy through the Sacrament of Confirmation, reports the website of the Patriarchal Exarchate of Africa.

The sacraments were performed by the rector of the parish, Priest Raphael Andaii, and the cleric of the parish, Priest Athanasius Vachira, who then celebrated the Liturgy.

It is noted that at the Liturgy, new members of the Church received the Holy Mysteries of Christ for the first time.

After the service, Father Raphael distributed crosses and icons to the new members of the Church, and then a festive meal took place.
